Chapter 70 Sonoko and Makoto Kyogoku

"Guangyou, why did you bring me here? It's almost noon. Let me take you to eat!"

Ever since Kousuke saved Sonoko yesterday, Sonoko has been incredibly kind to him.

Sonoko looked at the closed door in front of her, and suddenly she seemed to smell a fragrance. She took a deep sniff and couldn't help but swallow.

Kōyū pushed open the door, gestured for them to come in, and said, "To help Sonoko-neechan calm down, I made some dishes, especially for you. Please come in and try them!"

Hearing that it was made especially for her, Sonoko was a little surprised: "Made for me? Kōyū, you can cook? That's amazing! Then I won't be polite!"

As you enter the room, the aroma becomes even stronger, and the table in the center of the room is laden with dishes.

Yuanzi took a few quick steps to the table and sat down cross-legged.

The dishes on the table were exceptionally plentiful. Not everyone can resist the temptation of delicious food. If you can, it means that the temptation of this dish has not reached that level!

Although the dishes on the table made Sonoko's mouth water, she restrained herself and said, "Kuyoshi, why don't you call Ran and Conan over too? They haven't eaten yet either."

Guangyou smiled and said, "I made another one for them too, but it's not in this room."

"Not in this room? What do you mean?"

Seeing Sonoko's confusion, Kōyū said meaningfully, "Sonoko-neechan, just bear with it a little longer. You can eat it when the other person comes. You must be patient!"

After saying that, Kōyū turned and left the room, leaving a bewildered Sonoko behind: "Another person? Who?"

Not long after Kōyū left, he saw Conan, Ran, and Kyogoku Makoto coming up the stairs.

Ran was also a little confused: "Conan, where are you taking us?"

Conan, who didn't know either, stared with dead fish eyes and asked, "What exactly is Kōyū trying to do?"

At this moment, Guangyou spoke up: "You've come. Follow me."

Following Kōyū, the group walked to the room next to Sonoko's. Conan pointed uncertainly to the door and asked, "Here?"

With Mitsuyu nodding in acknowledgment, Conan opened the door and went inside with Ran.

Conan just told Makoto Kyogoku that someone invited him to dinner. He initially refused, but after Conan's repeated requests, he reluctantly agreed.

Unaware of the truth, Makoto Kyogoku naturally wanted to follow Ran and Conan into the room, but Kosuke stopped him, saying, "Kyogoku-nii, your room is over there."

Following the direction Kousuke pointed, Makoto Kyogoku looked at Kousuke with some confusion and uncertainty, but he didn't see the teasing in Kousuke's eyes.

Somewhat bewildered, Makoto Kyogoku walked to the door next door, hesitated for a moment, but still went in.

Seeing that Makoto Kyogoku had gone in, Mitsuyu nodded in satisfaction and also went into the room, but he went into the room where Ran was.

As soon as they entered, Xiaolan exclaimed in surprise, "Guangyou, you really know how to cook!"

The room was filled with a rich aroma. When she saw the exquisite dishes on the table, she was somewhat shocked. She had originally thought that Guangyou could only cook some simple dishes, after all, he was of a certain age.

These dishes on the table might be a bit difficult for her, since she considers her cooking skills to be comparable to those of a five-star hotel, but only for home-style dishes; she has basically only seen these dishes in restaurants.

There is a big difference between home-cooked food and restaurant food. Even just the plating is a skill that requires a lot of effort. How to arrange the food and how to use side dishes to highlight its beauty are things that restaurant chefs need to study.

When cooking at home, you don't need to worry about plating; just put the food on the plate, and that's enough to achieve a basic aesthetic.

The dishes on the table were all beautifully presented, and the quantity was more than that of the hotel. After all, it was homemade. In the hotel, a single okra cut into quarters and placed in ice might cost you 20 yuan. It's different when you make it yourself.

Besides, this is only a one-time cooking session. Buying too much food won't get you any to take back. What kind of behavior would it be to bring it back? People go to the beach and bring back souvenirs like seashells, but you bring back vegetables from the beach? If it were some local specialty, that would be one thing, but Japan isn't a big place, and local specialties are already fairly readily available. What's the point of bringing more?

This wasn't the first time Conan had eaten Kouyu's cooking, but since he was usually only obsessed with detective stories and soccer, he wasn't picky about food—as long as he was full, that was fine. But every time Kouyu cooked, it was a completely new experience for him.

If Kōsuke knew what Conan was thinking, he would definitely say a very classic line from his past life: "This is a completely new version that you've never eaten before."

With Kōyū nodding in acknowledgment, Ran and Conan said "I'm starting" and eagerly began to eat.

The atmosphere next door wasn't so harmonious.

As soon as Makoto Kyogoku entered, he saw Sonoko swallowing hard. Sonoko heard the noise, turned around and looked at the door. She saw Makoto Kyogoku and realized that he had seen her embarrassing moment. A blush crept onto Sonoko's cheeks.

Makoto Kyogoku was somewhat taken aback when he saw that it was Sonoko. He was about to leave when Sonoko called him back.

Kyogoku Makoto, who was persuaded to stay, couldn't help but swallow as he looked at the dishes on the table.

Previously, because of Masahiko Michiwaki, Sonoko didn't have a good impression of Makoto Kyogoku. However, since the misunderstanding was cleared up last night, Sonoko doesn't have a bad impression of Makoto Kyogoku, but she doesn't have a good impression either.

At this point, Sonoko was able to observe Kyogoku Makoto more closely. Before she did, she realized that Kyogoku Makoto was quite impressive, with his bronze skin and sharp eyes. Although she had learned from Kosuke that Kyogoku Makoto practiced martial arts, his muscles didn't appear to be the exaggerated kind.

In short, he's "slim when dressed, muscular when undressed."

Although he may appear to simply know that he has been training, Makoto Kyogoku exudes an involuntary confidence, a strong confidence that comes from his martial prowess. Despite his confidence, he is not arrogant.

Those who practice martial arts must always maintain a humble heart.

After observing Makoto Kyogoku closely, Sonoko felt that he was also very charming, and she could clearly sense a sense of security from him.

Neither of them spoke or started eating, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.

However, the rich aroma wafted into Yuanzi's nose, making her unable to resist. She said, "If you're not going to eat it, I'll eat it first!"

After saying that, they started to move. As soon as one person moved, the seemingly frozen atmosphere naturally began to move as well.

Kyogoku Shinya picked up a piece of sushi placed in front of him, and as soon as he took a bite, he felt as if there was something inside the sushi.

When I took it out, I found it was a small note.

There weren't many words on the note, and Makoto Kyogoku finished reading it after just one glance.

After he finished reading, he looked up at the garden he was eating from and blinked in surprise.

Makoto Kyogoku began by saying, "I...."
