"This..." Hattori Heiji was speechless for a moment.
He stammered for a long time but couldn't come up with a coherent explanation.
"Heiji, please explain," Kazuha asked, her voice rising. "Who is that troublesome woman?"
"What troublesome woman? I never said that." Hattori Heiji waved his hand, denying it outright. "You must have misheard me. I definitely didn't say anything like that."
"I heard it very clearly, I definitely didn't mishear it." Kazuha was still a little angry; she didn't believe she had misheard.
Looking at Kazuha, who was standing in front of him with her hands on her hips and looking somewhat angry, Hattori Heiji could only wave his hand and say with a forced smile, "You must have misheard me. I wasn't talking about you."
Even though Hattori Heiji's emotional intelligence sometimes fails him, he knows that now is definitely not the time to tell the truth.
But how exactly should I explain this?
"Um, Kazuha-neechan, I was just talking to Heiji-nii about a recent movie. He was talking about a villainous female character in the movie."
Just as Hattori Heiji was in a dilemma, Kōyū's voice rang out.
To Hattori Heiji at that moment, that childlike voice sounded like heavenly music.
This statement gave him a way out.
"Yes, what Kōyū and I were talking about was the villainous female character in that movie." Hattori Heiji chuckled twice, taking the opportunity Kōyū gave him to say, "It has nothing to do with you, Kazuha."
Upon hearing this, Kazuha simply looked into Hattori Heiji's eyes without immediately responding.
Hattori Heiji swallowed hard and stared at Kazuha without backing down.
The two fell silent, staring at each other. Kazuha tried to judge whether Heiji Hattori was lying by observing his facial expressions.
In contrast, Hattori Heiji was controlling his facial expression, trying his best to remain calm so that Kazuha would believe what he had just said.
After a few seconds of silence, Kazuha's furrowed brows slowly relaxed, and he lowered his hands from his hips.
"Heiji, is what you just said true?" Kazuha was already starting to waver.
"It's true." Hattori Heiji nodded decisively. "I'm absolutely not lying to you."
"Then I'll trust you this once." Kazuha didn't press the matter further.
"Kazuha, you go back and continue making chocolates." Hattori Heiji secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I'll be back after I finish this call."
"Um."
Watching Kazuha turn and leave, Hattori Heiji said to Kouyu, "Thanks, Kouyu. When I go to Tokyo, I'll have Kudo treat you to a meal."
"You're really good at using someone else's flowers to present to Buddha." Guangyou didn't mind, chuckled twice and said, "Alright, I won't say any more, I'll hang up now. I'll call you again on Friday to confirm the specific meeting time."
"Go and spend some time with Kazuha now. These past few days have been a bit special, so you'll have to figure it out yourself." Guangyou left the phone hanging after keeping everyone in suspense.
"Hey, what's wrong with these days? What's so special about them? Explain yourself before you hang up!"
After hearing the disconnection notification sound from his phone, Hattori Heiji put away his phone, pursed his lips, and muttered, "That guy, he hangs up halfway through a sentence, really..."
"Never mind, let's go back and continue making chocolate."
He didn't care much about it and didn't even bother to find out what day it was.
After putting his phone away, Hattori Heiji turned and walked towards the kitchen.
...
On the other side, in the park.
After hanging up the phone and putting it in his pocket, Guangyou quickened his pace while looking around for the hidden "prisoners."
It's better to let Heiji handle this kind of thing himself.
He also guessed the reason why He Ye had done those things in the past two days.
It's nothing more than that Heiji knew Ran received a Valentine's Day gift from Shinichi that day, and he was envious, so he wanted Heiji to give her one too.
However, Kazuha's personality meant that she couldn't directly tell Hattori Heiji, "I want a Valentine's Day gift."
So these past two days, Ye Yuepingci and I went shopping together, giving all sorts of hints.
Actually, Kazuha didn't want any expensive gifts, otherwise she wouldn't have brought a hair clip worth only a few hundred yen and asked Heiji if it would look good on her.
Just like he said before, the most important thing about a gift is the sentiment behind it.
"A gift... tsk." Guangyou muttered to himself as he walked forward, "Whether or not to give a gift is not important, but at least you have to take some action, otherwise how will the girl know what place she holds in the boy's heart?"
He hoped that Hattori Heiji could take this opportunity to make a move.
However, that's unlikely.
Putting aside the fact that Hattori Heiji couldn't understand Kazuha's hints, he didn't even know what day it was these two days. How could he be expected to take any action?
That's overthinking it.
I wanted to make a promise, like if Hattori Heiji actually did something, I would do a handstand and wash my hair on the spot.
But after thinking about it, Guangyou decided to forget about it.
Coming to his senses, Guangyou began to seriously search for the hidden "criminals" in the park.
One has been found so far, and there are four left.
The park is only so big, we'll find it sooner or later, so Guangyou isn't in a hurry.
After walking along the road for a few minutes, Kōyū saw Ayumi squatting on the ground with her back to him behind a tree.
He walked forward quietly, reached out and gently patted Ayumi's left shoulder, then quickly moved to her right.
After feeling a tap on her shoulder, Ayumi turned her head and looked at it in confusion.
