Chapter 733 Coat

The rain continued to fall steadily, showing no sign of stopping.

In the office on the second floor, Uncle Mori dialed the number for the Beika Detective Agency.

"This is Beika Detective Agency. May I ask how I can help you?"

Upon hearing the voice coming from the other end of the phone, Uncle Mori introduced himself: "Hello, I am Kogoro Mori from the Mori Detective Agency."

Upon hearing the name, the tone on the other end of the phone became much warmer: "Hello, Mr. Mori."

"I called to ask if Mr. Kusunoki is there?" Uncle Mori asked directly without much formality.

"Are you looking for Nanchuan?"

The voice on the other end of the phone paused slightly before saying, "Ah, to be honest, I haven't been able to reach him these past two days either. However, he recently mentioned a big case to me, so I think he might be working on one."

"A case?" Guangyou pinched his chin, his expression slightly serious.

"They might really be involved in the case," Ai said, recalling Kousuke's earlier guess. "It's not impossible."

"Yes, and the possibility is quite high." Kōyū nodded, looked at Uncle Mori, and listened carefully to their conversation.

"By the way, I'd like to ask you another question," Uncle Mori asked, "Did a boy and a girl who looked like high school students come to your place to see Mr. Kusunoki today?"

"Yes, they came around 10:30. I told them that Nan Chuan hadn't come to work, and after they asked for Nan Chuan's address, they left," the man replied.

"I see. Could you also tell me Mr. Nanchuan's address?"

Because of Uncle Mori's identity and profession, the person on the other end of the phone did not hesitate and immediately agreed: "Of course, no problem. Mr. Mori, please write down the address of Kusukawa: Ariji-sou, 4-chome, Beika Town."

"4-chome, Beika Town... Arutoso... Okay, thank you so much." Uncle Mori wrote down the address with his pen and thanked him at the same time.

After exchanging pleasantries, Uncle Mori hung up the phone.

"Dad, why don't we go to this address and take a look? Maybe we can find them there," Xiaolan said after Uncle Mori hung up the phone.

After hearing Ran's suggestion, Conan thought for a moment and then chimed in, "I want to go too!"

It's raining outside, and staying here is really boring. I might as well go out and look for something.

Moreover, he also felt that something was wrong.

"Guangyou, are you going?" Xiaolan turned to look at Guangyou and asked.

"Since we have nothing else to do anyway, let's go." Kōyū turned to Ai and asked, "Ai, do you want to come along?"

"To borrow your words, since we're free now, let's go." Ai nodded and said.

"Let's not delay, let's set off now." Xiaolan glanced at the rain falling outside the window and said, "Grab your umbrellas and let's go."

The umbrellas were all kept in their respective rooms, so after discussing it, the group headed to their rooms.

Before returning to his room, Kōyū thoughtfully said to Uncle Mōri, "Uncle, I'll bring your umbrella with me."

"...."

Watching the group go back to their rooms to get their umbrellas, Uncle Mori had something on his mind that he didn't know whether he should say or not.

Did he just agree to go?

...

Back in his room, Guangyou didn't grab an umbrella; instead, he went straight to the window.

I reached out and pushed open the window, revealing a small crack.

The window was opened, and the sound of rain became clearer.

At the same time, a cool breeze sneaked into the room through the small crack and blew on Guangyou's body.

"It's a bit cold outside..."

Sensing the chill, Guangyou closed the window.

Walking to the wardrobe, Guangyou took out two coats from his pile of clothes.

"Ai, put this jacket on." Kōyū handed one of the jackets to Ai and said, "It's raining outside and it's a bit cold."

"Mmm." A warm feeling welled up in Ai's heart. She took the coat, smiled and nodded, and then put on the coat that belonged to Kōyū.

Looking down at the coat she was wearing, Ai lowered her eyes, hiding a smile beneath them.

"This coat... must be the warmest coat in the world..."

Thinking about it, Ai reached out and tightened her coat.

“...”

Conan, who had just taken the umbrella out of the drawer, watched the two interact.

Perhaps because he had already gotten used to it, Conan felt no emotion whatsoever.

"Kuangyou, here's your umbrella." Conan handed the umbrella to Kuangyou and said, "Hurry up and go out, Ran is still waiting outside."

"Um."

...

Beika Town, 4-chome.

Beihu Town was not far from the office, and the group arrived at their destination after walking for a short while.

“Arutoso…” Uncle Mori squinted and looked ahead. After seeing a sign that read “Arutoso” on the wall in front of him, he said, “That’s it.”

Youjiuzhuang is actually just an apartment building; it's not as prestigious as it sounds.

The mailbox next to the sign had the residents' surnames and corresponding house numbers written on it, so the group quickly determined the location of Nan Chuan's room.

In 202.

Following the stairs along the outer wall to the second floor, just after reaching room 202, Uncle Mori's gaze was drawn to a note on the door.

The others who arrived later also looked at the note.

"I should be back before noon. Please deliver any mail to the landlord."
