Chapter 740 Taking them down one by one

"Kuangyou, go easy on him." Conan instinctively warned him when he heard Kuangyou was about to make a move.

"I know." Kōyū glanced at Conan and said, "Do you think I'm the kind of person who doesn't know my limits?"

A few seconds later, Conan nodded and said seriously, "Yes."

“…” Kōyū stared at Conan without saying a word.

The next second, Conan added, "There was a little bit before, but it's much better now."

Upon hearing this, Guangyou lowered his raised hand and nodded in satisfaction: "That's more like it."

"..." Conan didn't dare to speak.

After a few seconds of silence, Conan chose to skip the topic: "Then we need to find out the situation in the attic first, and then formulate a countermeasure. After all, you can't just rely on your headstrong recklessness."

“Of course I know that.” Kōyū nodded, looking at Conan with a playful glint in his eyes. “So, Conan-kun, do you have any good ideas?”

"I'm suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable..." When Conan heard Kouyu call him "Conan-kun," the first thought that popped into Conan's mind was, "This guy probably forgot to take his meds."

However, that's not the main point. The urgent task is to determine a plan and then rescue Hattori Heiji, who has been imprisoned by the middle-aged, obese lawyer.

"I'll definitely give him a good dressing down later." Conan never expected that Hattori Heiji, a master swordsman, would be imprisoned in the attic by an elderly and somewhat overweight aunt.

Even if they had other helpers, they shouldn't have been subdued so easily.

"The situation has been largely determined."

At this moment, Kōyū's words pulled Conan back from his somewhat erratic thoughts.

Coming to his senses, Conan looked at Kousuke.

"As I just said, there should be three people imprisoned in the attic: Mr. Kusunoki, Hattori, and Kazuha. The others are all that lawyer's companions."

As he explained, Guangyou slightly raised his head, recalling the general layout of the house.

"The attic space of that house shouldn't be very large; it shouldn't be able to accommodate too many people while ensuring unimpeded movement."

Conan nodded repeatedly, "That makes sense. Not only is it inconvenient to move around with more people, but it's also easy to attract attention. If that's the case, then there should be three or four people guarding Hattori and the others."

"Apart from that, the only people who pose a threat to me are those guards above. That lawyer Ito is not a problem. I just don't know what weapons they have."

As he said this, Kōyū remained calm, as if he wasn't worried at all about the other party getting hurt or having any weapons.

"You still need to be careful. If you get hurt, you'll have to take care of it yourself."

A cool voice came from beside Guangyou, causing a slight smile to appear on Guangyou's previously expressionless face.

"Don't worry, I'm confident."

Hearing Ai's concern, Kōyū felt a warm current surge in his chest and gently patted Ai's hand to comfort her.

"Mmm," Ai replied.

After reassuring Ai, Kōyū turned back to continue working on his plan with Conan. Conan watched their interaction with a calm expression.

He's gotten somewhat used to it.

"Conan, could you lend me your watch later?" Kouyu's gaze lingered on the watch-shaped tranquilizer gun on Conan's wrist as he said, "That way, we can reduce the risk a bit."

"No problem." Conan nodded without much thought, took off his wristwatch-shaped tranquilizer gun, and placed it in front of Mitsuyu.

"What are all these?" Uncle Mori looked at the so-called codes, somewhat puzzled.

The code consisted of numbers and letters, and Uncle Mori couldn't figure out any pattern at all.

They couldn't even understand it, let alone crack the code.

"Let me see."

Just as Conan handed the wristwatch-shaped tranquilizer gun to Mitsuyoshi, he heard Uncle Mori's voice.

He jumped off the chair, went straight to Uncle Mori's table, leaned on the table, and looked at his phone.

After discussing it with Mitsuyu, Conan felt that this code might not be so simple.

He wanted to give it a try.

On the other side, Guangyou put the watch-shaped tranquilizer gun into his pocket, came to the table, and peeked at the coded message.

“Q, A, K, J…” Ai glanced at the code, leaned closer to Kouyu, and whispered, “Could these letters be related to playing cards?”

“Very likely.” Kōyū nodded in agreement, and was about to go back to continue formulating the rescue plan when he suddenly noticed Conan writing something in his notebook.

"Conan, have you discovered something?" Ran noticed Conan's actions and looked at his notebook, asking with some curiosity.

"I think I've made a discovery, but I'm not entirely sure." Conan nodded.

"It's okay, just tell me what you found," Xiaolan encouraged.

“Hmm, I think the letters A, K, Q, J written on this code look like playing cards,” Conan said, pointing to his notebook as he shared his thoughts with Ran. “Then I tried changing them all to numbers.”

"After changing it to numbers, it became 64 numbers. Most importantly, I found that only one number was excluded."

After glancing at the notebook, Xiaolan nodded in understanding: "The number that was excluded is the nine in the very center."

“If you divide the 63 digits without the 9 into 9 groups, you can get 7 groups, and each group contains one digit…” Ai analyzed softly, “So these are the seven digits hidden in the code.”
