Chapter 753 Beware of Getting Struck by Lightning

In the dead of night, this bustling metropolis seems to have fallen asleep, with few shops still lit up except for the 24-hour convenience stores.

Most people in the city were already in bed, drifting off to sleep to the crisp sound of raindrops hitting the ground.

On the third floor of the firm, a door was quietly opened.

Then a figure walked out of the room.

The figure looked around, and after confirming that no one was around, stood up straight, patted his chest, and breathed a sigh of relief.

Then, the figure took a step and tiptoed toward the balcony.

"Splash..."

The sliding door to the balcony was slowly pushed open by this figure. In order not to make a sound and disturb others, the figure pushed the sliding door open completely in several steps.

"Good evening, Hattori."

The sudden sound from behind made the figure freeze instantly.

Although the voice wasn't loud, in the quiet room, Hattori Heiji heard every single word of the sentence clearly.

"Tonight, Kōyū..." Hattori Heiji turned his head stiffly, like a robot, and glanced at Kōyū standing behind him.

"Are you trying to tamper with that teru teru bozu?" Kōyū yawned, glanced at Hattori Heiji, and asked in a flat tone.

"..." Hattori Heiji remained silent.

The atmosphere suddenly became somewhat awkward.

The biggest fear when doing this kind of thing is being discovered by others, and having your purpose seen through at a glance.

For a moment, Hattori Heiji stood there, unsure whether to go back to sleep or continue his mission.

"If you do this, you might get struck by lightning." Kōyū also guessed why Hattori Heiji wanted to do this.

He simply hoped that it would rain again tomorrow, causing the hiking trip to be canceled, so that he could take Conan with him to complete the request given to him by Mr. Kusukawa.

However, he didn't actively stop him; he simply said calmly, "Be careful when you go out later."

"I just couldn't sleep, so I came out for some fresh air." Heiji Hattori didn't dare admit it, forced a laugh, and walked out onto the balcony, taking a deep breath.

While covering it up, I also took the opportunity to calm myself down.

"I'll go back to sleep soon." Hattori Heiji looked at the rain falling outside, but his mind was still inside.

At this moment, Hattori Heiji kept repeating to himself:

Didn't find it...

Hurry up and go...

Even if you find out, don't tell them...

After a moment, Hattori Heiji heard no movement and frowned, wondering, "Have they already left?"

After waiting a few more seconds, Hattori Heiji looked up at the teru teru bozu doll above his head and slowly stretched out his hand...

"Then you can continue to get some fresh air, I'm going to the restroom."

Just as he was about to touch the teru teru bozu (a Japanese doll), Kōyū's voice rang out again in a soft, melancholic tone.

The sound was still not loud, but to Hattori Heiji it was like a thunderbolt, and cold sweat instantly broke out on his forehead.

However, he didn't show any obvious abnormality. Instead, with his back to Guangyou, he stretched and yawned.

"Okay, go ahead." Hattori Heiji lowered his hand and breathed a sigh of relief when he heard footsteps behind him.

Fortunately, Kwang-yu didn't intend to tell on him.

The reason for this thought is that Hattori Heiji does not believe that Kousuke will be so easily fooled by his lame excuse.

After all, Guangyou saw through his true intentions at a glance.

"You can get some fresh air... I'm going back to sleep." Kōyū's voice rang out again.

After glancing at Hattori Heiji on the balcony, Kōyū went straight back to his room without stopping.

"Phew..." Hattori Heiji breathed a sigh of relief again after watching Kōyū enter the room in the dim light.

Looking up at the teru teru bozu (a Japanese doll symbolizing good weather) above his head, Hattori Heiji reached out his hand.

...

The next morning, Guangyou opened his eyes, sat half-upright on the bed, and after a moment of blankness, picked up the phone placed next to his pillow.

I glanced at the time.

"It's time to get up." After enjoying the warmth of the bed for a while longer, Guangyou threw off the covers, got out of bed, and changed his clothes.

After rubbing his hands together as usual, Kōyū turned to look at Hattori Heiji and Conan, who were still asleep.

He's not used to having someone sleep in the same bed with him... except for Ai Haibara.

Furthermore, Heiji Hattori has a better relationship with Conan.

So last night, Heiji Hattori slept in the same bed as Conan.

At this moment, Heiji Hattori was lying on his side on the bed, his left hand resting on Conan's body, while Conan did not react and was still sleeping.

However, the two were quite close; if Conan simply turned around and leaned forward a little, he could...

Upon seeing the scene before him, Kwangyu couldn't help but chuckle and mutter to himself, "This scene... I really want to capture it on camera."

"But am I that kind of person?"

As he said this, Guangyou picked up his phone and took a picture of the scene, nodded, and muttered to himself, "That's me."

With a calm expression, Guangyou put away his phone, turned around, pushed open the door, and left the room: "Go prepare breakfast."

As he passed by Uncle Mori's room, Kōyū could still faintly hear Uncle Mori's regular snoring coming from inside.

Upon arriving in the kitchen, Guangyou put on an apron and began preparing breakfast.

...

"Wow, it smells so good!" Kazuha exclaimed as soon as she opened the door, catching a whiff of the delicious aroma in the air. "It's making me a little hungry!"

"It must have been prepared by Kousuke," Ran said, putting on her slippers and walking over to Kazuha. "Let's go check the kitchen."
