Chapter 763 Trying on Clothes

"Little friend, which side is your house on?" Conan glanced at both sides of the Morozuka family home engulfed in flames and asked, "Is it to the right or left of that burning house?"

The boy didn't think too much about it and honestly replied, "My house is on the right."

After receiving the information, Conan and Heiji Hattori quickly headed towards the boy's house.

Seeing the two men walk up to the wall, Uncle Mori asked in confusion, "Hey, what are you two doing?"

"Let's go check it out."

After saying this, Heiji Hattori bent down, picked up Conan, and helped him climb up the wall.

After Conan climbed over, Heiji Hattori grabbed the edge of the wall with both hands, nimbly climbed over it, and landed steadily in the yard.

"These two brats are really talking to themselves." Uncle Mori knew it was too late to stop them, and he curled his lip. "I should have just gone back."

...

They climbed over the wall into the yard and ran along the path in the backyard.

As he ran, he turned his head to look at the house of the Morozumi family, as if he were looking for something.

Just a few meters away from the two, the house of Morozuki was still engulfed in flames.

There is only a wall a little over a meter high between the two houses.

The sweltering heat hit them, but it didn't affect Conan and Heiji Hattori at all.

After running for a short while, Conan suddenly stopped and turned around.

He looked seriously at the shadows peeking through the cracks in the windows of the Morozuka family's house and said to Hattori Heiji, who was following behind him, "There's a red horse in the crack of the window!"

Remembering what the boy had said, Hattori Heiji glanced at the room behind him and said, "So, that kid was watching TV in the room behind us."

"Yes, the horse's shadow is reflected onto this curtain by the firelight."

After nodding, Conan recalled the airing time of "The Masked Swordsman" and said, "The Masked Swordsman aired at 7:30 p.m. When the theme song started, a light appeared, and then we saw the shadow of a horse."

"This means that the arsonist put the horse in the window crack around 7:30 after setting the fire." Hattori Heiji nodded and continued to speculate.

"That's right, meaning that guy was at least near this window for that period of time."

Looking at the burning house, Conan said to Heiji Hattori, "Now that we've confirmed everything, let's go out."

"Hmm." Hattori Heiji nodded in agreement and said, "Let's talk about the rest after the fire is out."

...

Meanwhile, on the third floor of the firm.

After understanding the general situation, Guangyou had a better grasp of the situation.

Given what happened, Hattori Heiji and the others definitely won't be back anytime soon.

There was no need to prepare dinner for them.

There are still a few buckets of instant noodles left in the kitchen. If they get hungry when they come back, they can just make do with the instant noodles.

After hanging up the phone, Guangyou put his phone back in his pocket.

Listening to the sound of running water and the crisp sounds of dishes clattering in the kitchen, Guangyou sat there for a while before supporting himself with his hands and standing up from the ground.

I poured a cup of hot water for the three of them and placed it on the table.

As they approached the kitchen, Guangyou greeted Xiaolan, "Xiaolan, Uncle and the others will probably be back very late, so we don't need to prepare anything for them."

"Did something happen to them?" Xiaolan stopped what she was doing, turned to look at Guangyou, and asked.

"The client's house caught fire, and the client died. My uncle and the others are at the scene helping with the investigation," Guangyou explained briefly.

"Is it that arsonist again?"

Upon hearing that there was a fire, Kazuha remembered the serial arsonists they had discussed the previous night. After putting the dishes back, she looked at Kōyū and asked.

"Probably." Guangyou nodded and said calmly, "This time, the arsonist caused a death, so the police will definitely intensify their search."

"I hope the police can catch the arsonist soon," Xiaolan said, continuing to tidy up the kitchen.

"Don't worry, he won't be able to keep this up for long."

As soon as he finished speaking, Kōyū saw Ai dry her hands, walk over to his side, and whisper, "I'm all ready. Shall we go try on the clothes?"

"Let's go." Kōyū smiled and nodded.

The two left the kitchen and went to Xiaolan's room.

Pointing to the shopping bags on the table, Kōyū looked at Ai and asked, "Are these all there?"

“There are some of mine in there too.” Ai walked over, put two of the shopping bags on the other side, and then said to Kōyū, “The rest are yours.”

"So many?" Kōyū picked up the remaining four shopping bags, glanced at the two belonging to Ai, and asked, "Ai, did you only buy two sets for yourself?"

"Mm," Ai nodded in response.

"Is it because you didn't see anything you liked?"

"I saw it."

"Then why did you only buy two sets?"

"Who said I only bought two sets?"

Looking at Guangyou walking beside her, she smiled slightly and said softly, "I bought six sets."

After saying that, Ai withdrew her gaze from Kousuke, pushed open the door, and went into the room.

Upon hearing this, Kōyū paused, stood still, and looked at Ai's back. A slow smile appeared on his lips as he chuckled.

"Oh, I see."

With a smile, Guangyou started walking again, went into the room, and put the shopping bag on the bed.

“This coat goes well with what you’re wearing.” Ai stepped forward, picked up one of the shopping bags, handed the coat inside to Kōyū, and said, “Try it on.”
