As he reached the door, Kōyū looked at Hattori Heiji and Conan, who were still somewhat embarrassed.
He then said in a calm tone, "By the way, I also often make phone calls for several hours at a time."
He would often talk on the phone with Ai for a long time.
The content wasn't particularly interesting, and could even be described as rather bland, but the two of them thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sometimes time seems to fly by; before you know it, an hour has passed and you've barely exchanged a few words.
Sometimes the two of them would talk on the phone and then go about their own business.
Even though they didn't have much to talk about, the two of them didn't feel awkward at all; on the contrary, they felt very comfortable.
"Kuangyou, do you also think what they said was excessive?" Kazuha asked, looking down at Kuangyou, seeing that he was on their side.
“That’s true to some extent.” Guangyou nodded in agreement, then shook his head, sighed helplessly, and said, “This feeling… you two wouldn’t understand.”
He seemed to feel sorry for Heiji Hattori and Conan.
Actually, he was secretly laughing to himself.
“That’s right!” Xiaolan and Heye didn’t know what Guangyou was thinking; they just felt that he had expressed their opinion, so they agreed.
They didn't know, but Conan and Heiji Hattori did. Didn't Mitsuyu mean that they didn't have any female... people to call?
"Wait a minute, how did you know what we were talking about?" Hattori Heiji suddenly remembered something and asked, "Were you eavesdropping on us from outside the entrance?"
"How could that be!" Kazuha retorted. "We would never do something like that!"
"We were sitting in the car when we suddenly heard your voices on the radio."
After explaining to them, Kōyū couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "And he even woke Ai up. I wonder which scoundrel did this..."
This couldn't possibly be a problem with the radio; it's obvious that someone has tampered with the entryway, perhaps by installing a listening device or something.
Then, for some reason, the radio received a signal from the bugging device, which allowed them to hear the two men's conversation.
Ran and Kazuha nodded, not having heard the second half of Kouyu's sentence, and said, "Just like Kouyu said."
"A radio?" Conan frowned, repeating the word over and over, when suddenly a possibility occurred to him.
Heiji Hattori shared the same idea.
Although the two did not speak, they seemed to have agreed to turn their heads and look at the decorations in the entryway.
“It should be in here.” Hattori Heiji reached into the ornaments, rummaged around for a while, and then seemed to have found something. He said, “Found it.”
Then, he took out a small black box from the ornaments.
An antenna can also be seen on the box.
“Look, there’s a bugging device inside this ornament.” Hattori Heiji looked at the bugging device in his hand and had an expression that said, “I knew it.”
“There really is one.” Guangyou wasn’t surprised. Compared to the bugging device, his attention was entirely on the ornament.
This ornament gave him a very familiar feeling.
After a moment's recollection, Kōyū suddenly remembered where this sense of familiarity came from and said, "This ornament seems to be the same style as the one in the entrance hall of the Morozuka family."
"Yes, it is indeed the same model." Conan also recognized the ornament, and at the same time, he thought of a person.
"Speaking of which, we overheard other things as well." Xiaolan pinched her chin, recalling the scene.
Before she could say it, Kazuha spoke up for her: "I think it was something like a trash can."
Upon hearing this, Heiji Hattori and Conan exchanged a glance, then turned around and ran into the house.
Watching the two figures walk away, Guangyou thought for a moment and called out to them, "You can check around for a mat, the kind that Officer Gongchang is holding."
"Okay," Conan replied casually.
After turning his gaze away, Guangyou stepped forward and took out a few pairs of slippers from the shoe cabinet, saying to the others, "Let's go in and take a look too."
"Okay." Xiaolan and Heye agreed.
After changing into slippers, the group walked down the corridor.
Remembering what Guangyou had just said, Xiaolan asked with some confusion, "Guangyou, why are you paying attention to the mat?"
"Sister Xiaolan, I wonder if you still remember what Officer Gongchang said this morning?" Guangyou asked.
"I remember." Xiaolan nodded, then asked, "But, Guangyou, which sentence did you mean?"
"That's what Officer Yukio said: the fortune teller named Kondo Noriko reacted strangely when he saw the cushion that Ms. Ryoko was holding in her hand before she died."
When Kōyū mentioned it, not only Ran but also Kazuha remembered it.
She even asked why they let that woman go back.
Although Kazuha and Ran both remembered, they were still somewhat puzzled.
"But is there any connection between the two?"
Seeing that the two did not understand what he meant, Guangyou explained: "Actually, not many fortune tellers on the street have real skills. Most of them rely on some tricks."
"For example, that feng shui master named Soga Misao, he told Ms. Ryoko to put the ornament containing the listening device in the entrance hall."
"That way he can find out some information about Ms. Liangzi, and then reveal that information to gain her trust."
"That fortune teller was probably the same; he sold customers things that contained listening devices. Judging from the current situation, the listening device should be hidden in the mat."
