Chapter 787 "Punishment"

The news content was pretty much what he expected.

It's roughly about how someone accidentally discovered that Yu Cheng Liuli was leaving the orphanage alone, and they even attached a not-so-clear photo.

Although the media outlet that published this news is not as large as Nichibukai, it is still quite substantial and therefore has a certain degree of credibility.

Moreover, this news did not spread widely, nor did it seem like a commercial hype.

"That's fine too." Guangyou glanced at the photo again, then closed the webpage, put his phone aside, and prepared to get up.

That's enough for him; he was just curious.

Whether Yu Cheng Liuli sings this song or not is none of his business.

"Snow Flower" was not created by him, so he did not have the kind of desire that some creators have for their works to be presented to the world.

I never even thought about making money from this song.

If Rain City Glass sings it, it would be another form of cultural dissemination, and the money earned could be used for good deeds.

If Yu Cheng Liuli doesn't sing it, keeping the song at the bottom of her drawer or keeping it for herself would also be a good option.

He sang that song because he was in that kind of environment, and the atmosphere just right made him suddenly think of that song.

His original intention was to sing this song for Ai.

Recording the song was also to keep a memento.

His original aspiration has never changed, so Guangyou doesn't feel there's anything to regret.

Thinking of this, Kōyū suddenly turned his head and looked at Ai sitting on the edge of the bed, asking curiously, "Ai, have you heard that song recently?"

"Never heard of it," Ai shook her head, thinking to herself as she answered.

"I haven't gone back these past few days, so it's not exactly a lie."

Lifting the blanket, Guangyou reached for the coat placed beside him, put it on, and asked a question as he did so.

"You really haven't heard of it?"

"Hmm." Ai replied insincerely, just as she saw Kōyū, who had put on his coat, move a little closer to her.

Not only that, he also brought his face closer.

"I've never heard of it." Ai's tone remained as calm as before, but in reality, her heart was not as calm as she appeared.

"Really?" Guangyou leaned closer.

The distance between the two was less than two fists, and Ai could already feel warm air currents emanating from the pot on her face.

It's a little itchy.

It also seems to have a special effect of making one's cheeks feel hot.

What do you want?

For some reason, the scene at her sister's house that day suddenly flashed before Ai's eyes.

"I thought you would listen to it often." Guangyou deliberately put on a disappointed look and even sighed.

"Sigh, I didn't expect you haven't heard of Ai recently."

Even though she could tell that the boy in front of her was pretending, Ai couldn't help but explain it to Kousuke.

Actually, what I meant was...

Before she could finish explaining, Guangyou put away his disappointed expression and replaced it with a smile.

"I recorded the song so carefully, but you haven't listened to it much."

"In that case, I'll punish you by making you listen to me sing once, or sit next to me and sing a duet with me. You're not allowed to refuse."

Ai paused for a moment as soon as she finished speaking.

Seeing her dazed expression, Kōyū couldn't help but chuckle and reached out to flick Ai's nose.

"What's wrong? You agreed that you weren't allowed to refuse."

Upon hearing this, Ai came to her senses and looked at Kōyū, who was smiling at her. A smile also appeared on her face.

"Um."

Having received the response he wanted, Kōyū pulled Ai up from the edge of the bed and led her to the window.

At noon, when Heiji Hattori and Conan were taking a nap, the sun was at its strongest, and they found it too bright, so they drew the curtains.

They reached out and drew back the curtains, letting the orange-red afterglow of the setting sun stream through the window, filling the entire room and falling upon the two of them.

She opened the window again, letting the breeze ruffle Ai's hair.

"I'll go get the guitar." Kōyū moved two chairs from the side, placed them in front of the window, and said to Ai with a smile.

"Please sit here first."

"Um."

After nodding, Ai turned her gaze to the window.

Soon, Guangyou returned to the window with his guitar.

"By the way, Ai, I haven't asked you yet. Do you want to hear me sing, or a duet?" Kōyū asked Ai while tuning his guitar and testing the pitch.

"Let's sing a duet." After thinking for a moment, Ai added in a flat tone, a sly smile flashing in her eyes.

“But I haven’t listened to it for several days, so you sing it once first, and then we can sing together.”

These words made Guangyou stop what he was doing and start adjusting the device.

Looking at Ai sitting beside him with a smile on her lips, Kōyū couldn't help but reach out and ruffle her hair.

"You little rascal..."

"Just tell me if it's okay or not." Ai let Kousuke ruffle her hair, looked into his eyes, and asked as if she were taking the initiative.

"It was clearly meant to punish you." Kōyū chuckled wryly.

Voluntarily increasing the "punishment"?

He likes it.

"Just tell me if it's okay or not."

Even though Ai knew that Kousuke would definitely agree, she still repeated the question she had just asked.

"Of course you can." Kōyū nodded, let go of her hand, smiled and said something to Ai before continuing to tune the guitar.

He hadn't played the guitar in a while, and when he put it away last time, he loosened the strings, so now he has to readjust them.
