"Hattori, I didn't expect you to say something like that." Conan looked up and raised an eyebrow at Hattori Heiji.
"What did you say?" Heiji Hattori looked down and saw Conan's amused expression.
Although he didn't know what Conan was thinking, he always felt that Conan wasn't thinking anything good.
“Taking care of you is also my responsibility~” Conan said, mimicking Heiji Hattori’s tone.
After saying that, Conan turned his gaze back to Heiji Hattori.
Conan originally intended to tease Heiji Hattori, but to his surprise, his words had no effect on Heiji at all.
"You said that?" Hattori Heiji said calmly, his hands in his pockets. "I thought it was something else."
"Huh?" Conan was taken aback.
"Hmm what?"
Seeing Conan's reaction, Heiji Hattori felt a little strange and asked, "Isn't this a perfectly normal thing to say?"
"Is this...normal?" Conan asked, puzzled.
When a man and a woman say such things, isn't that what they mean?
“Yes.” Hattori Heiji nodded and said, “Kazuha came with me, so isn’t it normal for her to take care of her father?”
"Huh?" Conan felt like he and Heiji Hattori weren't on the same wavelength.
Guangyou overheard this.
He and Ai were about to take a couple of steps forward in the line.
I heard those words as I passed by the two of them.
“…” Kōyū paused for a moment, then took Ai’s hand, took a few steps forward, and stood in the empty space in the line.
After regaining his footing, Guangyou whispered, "I take back what I said before."
"What did you say before?" Ai asked, tilting her head.
"I thought he suddenly had a breakthrough." Kōyū turned around and glanced at Hattori Heiji, then at Kazuha, who was at the end of the line.
He then looked away.
"I never expected this..."
He never expected Hattori Heiji to say something like that.
However, Kazuha seemed unaware of this.
Luckily she didn't know, otherwise her mood today would definitely have been affected.
"The result was still pretty good." Ai said, recalling Kazuha's reaction and expression after receiving the bottled water.
“That’s true.” Kōyū nodded in agreement.
Regardless of Heiji Hattori's motives, the final result was still good.
“Compared to you, I’m much better off,” Mitsuyoshi said softly to Ai.
"You mean you've finally figured it out?" Although Ai admitted it in her heart, she didn't show it on the surface and asked calmly.
"No?" Kousuke leaned closer to Ai and whispered in her ear.
"I don't think so." Ai stood there, feeling the warm air blowing on her cheeks.
Her expression was calm, but her eyes involuntarily drifted towards Guangyou.
Then, Ai saw the smile on Kousuke's face.
The moment their eyes met in mid-air, Ai quickly looked away, glancing at the line in front of her, pretending that nothing had happened.
Then Ai repeated, "I don't think you've figured it out."
"Really?" Kōyū said, raising his hand and waving their intertwined hands in front of Ai.
"It's because you won't let go..."
Before she could finish speaking, Ai saw that Kousuke had already opened his hands.
At this moment, it was she who did not let go.
Remembering the sentence she hadn't finished saying, Ai paused for a moment before preparing to let go.
But before she could let go, Kōyū grasped Ai's hand again.
“Now is the time…” Kōyū smiled at Ai, then lowered his hand, straightened up, and continued to queue.
Looking down at their clasped hands, Ai smiled faintly.
Looking up at the front, Ai used her other hand to tuck a few stray strands of hair behind her ear, a smile playing on her lips, and spoke in a calm tone.
"But I still don't think you've figured it out."
Upon hearing this, Kōyū turned to Ai and asked, "Why?"
"If you really get it." Ai's smile faded, and she turned to meet Kousuke's eyes.
"Why didn't you seize all those opportunities before?"
"So many opportunities before?" Guangyou was taken aback.
What opportunity?
Could it be...?
There were indeed many opportunities in the past to take their relationship to the next level, but he wanted to be more formal and add another chapter to their memories.
Actually, even Kōyū wasn't sure if Ai was referring to that one.
So he pretended not to know and asked, "What opportunity?"
"Guess for yourself." After saying this, Ai looked to the sides.
It seemed as if she was angry that Kousuke couldn't seize the opportunity, but if Kousuke saw Ai's face...
Then he would notice that Ai's cheeks were already slightly red.
After glancing around to make sure Ran and the others weren't paying attention, Kousuke leaned close to Ai's ear and whispered, "What do you mean?"
"Ai, are you talking about the time when Akemi-neechan suddenly interrupted us at Akemi-neechan's house...?"
After asking the question, Kōyū stood up straight, looked at Ai's slightly flushed cheeks, and quietly waited for her response.
Two minutes have passed...
The queue moved forward a little, but Ai still didn't respond.
Three minutes have passed...
Just like before, the group remained in place, and Ai Haibara had not yet responded.
Kōyū wasn't in a hurry either. He didn't disturb Ai and stood aside, waiting for a response.
