"Fourth attempt, success."
Kōyū's attention was originally on the hamster plushie, but after hearing Ai's words, he quickly turned around.
"I didn't expect it to work." Guangyou originally thought he would have to try again, but he succeeded this time.
Kousuke crouched down and took the doll out of the opening. Only then did he realize that what he had just grabbed was a cat-shaped doll.
This kitten-shaped doll is covered in fine, short, white fur that feels comfortable to the touch.
There's also a small bell around the neck as decoration.
"It's quite cute." After looking the doll up and down, Kōyū turned to Ai and asked, "Ai, I spent four times, right?"
"Mm." Ai nodded.
"This result is acceptable."
He had previously said that it would take two or three attempts to succeed, and although the final result was slightly off, the deviation was not significant.
That's perfectly acceptable.
"Ai, you can take this plush toy." Kōyū handed the kitten plush toy to Ai and said, "It's perfect for us to each have one."
"Mm." Just like with Kousuke before, Ai didn't refuse or stand on ceremony. She responded with a 'Mm' and reached out to take the doll.
"You can put this plush toy next to your computer," Kōyū said to Ai as he saw her take the plush toy and then reach for the Shiba Inu plush toy he had previously placed aside.
"Mmm." Ai responded, then looked down at the kitten doll in her hand, a slight smile curving her lips, revealing her current mood.
“We still have quite a few game tokens left.” Kōyū hugged the Shiba Inu plush toy that Ai had given him and glanced at the plastic basket where the game tokens were kept.
"Let's return it later," Ai suggested.
"Okay, I'll go now." Kōyū freed one hand, picked up the plastic basket, and prepared to go to the counter to exchange the remaining game tokens for yen.
Before leaving, Kōyū asked Ai, "Ai, are you going? After we get our game coins back, we can go see if there are any souvenirs."
"Let's go then." Ai agreed without much thought.
The two turned around and went to the counter, where they told the staff about the refund for the game coins.
The staff took the plastic basket, counted the remaining game tokens, and then exchanged them for an equivalent amount of cash.
After taking the cash from the staff, Kōyū glanced at it, confirmed the amount was correct, and then left the counter with Ai.
Upon arriving at the shopping area, before even starting to browse, Guangyou spotted Xiaolan and Kazuha standing in front of the shelves selecting souvenirs.
"Kuangyou, Ai, did you get those toys from a claw machine?" Kazuha asked curiously, putting her items back on the shelf and looking at the toys in their hands.
“Yes.” Guangyou nodded.
"That's really good." Kazuha sighed, recalling her earlier failure, but then put on a smile again.
Guangyou noticed her expression.
Remembering what had just happened, Kōyū wanted to tell Kazuha about Heiji Hattori taking the hamster plushie.
But after thinking about it, I decided against it.
Leaving Kazuha with a touch of surprise is also a good idea.
"Are you two here to buy things too?" She glanced at the dolls in Ip Man's hands again, but quickly looked away.
"Okay." Guangyou nodded in response, while glancing at the surrounding shelves and said, "Sister Heye, Sister Xiaolan, you two go shopping. We'll meet up at the claw machine later."
"That works too." Kazuha nodded to Ran, then added, "Don't wander off," before turning and leaving.
"Let's go take a look too."
"Um."
The two moved between the shelves and the flow of people, stopping at each shelf for a while to look at the goods on it.
There is a wide variety of goods available here.
“I think this is pretty good.” Kōyū picked up a uniquely designed headband from the shelf in front of him and turned to Ai.
"Are you serious?" Ai's gaze lingered on the headband, and her expression became somewhat unnatural for a moment.
“I really think this is pretty good.” Guangyou nodded seriously.
"..." Ai's gaze lingered on the cat-ear headband on Kouyu's hand. After thinking for a moment, she reached out and said, "Then let's try it."
"Okay." Kōyū nodded with a smile and handed the headband in his hand to Ai.
After taking the headband, Ai looked down at the cat ears on it, paused for a moment, and then put the headband on her head.
"How are you feeling?" Ai asked calmly, but only she knew that she was not as calm as she appeared.
"It's very cute." Kōyū smiled and nodded, repeating it again with certainty, "It suits you very well."
"Hmm." After hearing Kouyu's evaluation, Ai secretly breathed a sigh of relief, reached out and took off the cat headband on her head, and said, "Then let's buy one."
“Actually, this one is not bad either…” Guangyou picked up another devil horn headband and said, “Want to try it again?”
"No." Ai refused decisively.
"Alright then." Guangyou didn't insist. He looked down at the devil horn headband in his hand and then switched the switch on it to the first position.
When Guangyou switched the switch to the first position, a blood-red light shone through the already red devil horns.
Then Guangyou switched the switch to the second position.
The red light began to flash.
Guangyou switched the switch to the last position again.
The red light began to change gradually, like breathing, from bright to dim, and then back to bright.
"Why don't you buy one and wear it yourself?" Ai said to Kousuke when he saw that he hadn't put the devil horn headband back in its place.
“That works too.” Kōyū thought for a moment and then nodded, gesturing to the devil horn headband in his hand and pointing to the cat ear headband in Ai’s hand.
"Cats and demons, that sounds interesting."
With that, Kōyū switched the switch to the off position, put the headband on his head, and asked with a smile, "Ai, how is it?"
"Tell me the truth or a lie?" Ai didn't answer Kousuke's question directly. She glanced at Kousuke, who was wearing a devil horn headband, and asked.
"Let's hear the lies first," Guangyou said.
“The lie is…” Ai looked into Kousuke’s eyes and said, “The lie is, it’s not good, this headband doesn’t suit you.”
“As expected.” Kōyū didn’t seem to care, and asked again, “Then what’s the truth? It’s not something like ‘it’s really not right for you,’ is it?”
“The truth is…” Ai withdrew her gaze from Kousuke, took a step, and a smile appeared on her face as she passed by Kousuke.
He then quietly finished the second half of the sentence, "The truth is, it looks pretty good."
Turning around, Kōyū saw that Ai had already walked to another shelf. Remembering Ai's comments, he smiled and followed her.
