Chapter 81 You Go Bald, But You Also Became Stronger

Pushing open the dusty door, Genta excitedly exclaimed, "Let's start in this room!"

The three kids from the detective team rushed into the room and began searching eagerly.

The remaining three calmly entered the room as well.

Upon entering the room, Conan noticed the clock hanging on the wall.

Noticing the bell's unusual behavior, Conan narrowed his eyes and sneered, but he didn't alert Genta and the others, still wanting to save face for Professor Agasa.

The three of them searched high and low, but found nothing and ended up with a mouthful of dust. They didn't even consider that if it had just been left in the cupboard, what would be the point of looking for it?

Conan noticed a painting on the wall and asked, "Doctor, is your uncle the person in that painting?"

Professor Agasa turned to look at the drawing and nodded: "Yes."

"I see." Conan said with relief. "It's true what you said, Dr. Agasa, that your uncle is a rich man."

How do you know?

Guangyou, chewing on a lollipop that appeared out of nowhere, explained, "Because the fireplace in this painting is the same as the one in the back, we know that they specially hired a painter to come to the villa to paint this picture for them."

"Judging from the technique, the painter is quite skilled, and the price must be quite high. Moreover, judging from your uncle's hairline, it shouldn't be too far off."

"How can you tell from the hairline?" Conan was puzzled and had no idea that there was any connection between the two.

Guangyou licked his lollipop and explained, "Because you went bald and became stronger."

Professor Agasa and Conan were baffled by the answer: "What the heck?"

“Actually, that makes sense.” Guangyou licked his lollipop and made a “pr pr” sound. “Because if you want to work hard, you will definitely have to socialize a lot. Drinking, staying up late, high mental stress and other factors will cause some people to go bald over time.”

Seeing the two nodding as they thought about it, Guangyou added, "Except for those rich kids."

After that topic ended, Conan asked, "Professor, who is that girl behind your uncle?"

“That’s his sister. Aunt Dingzi lives here to take care of my uncle’s illness. My uncle has always hated seeing people. This is the only sister he has ever been in contact with. I heard that she used to teach at a nearby elementary school. When my uncle was alive, this aunt went back to her hometown. In the following 50 years, she never stepped into this villa again.”

"She's quite pretty," Kōyū complimented sincerely. "She doesn't look like Professor Agasa at all."

Upon hearing this, Professor Agasa exploded: "Kuangyou, am I that ugly?"

Guangyou shook his head: "No, it's just that his nose is a little big."

These words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Dr. Agasa's head, leaving him feeling very tired.

Ignoring Professor Agasa, Conan remarked with some emotion, "There's so much left behind, especially the books and tableware."

"That's because my uncle's last words stated that he hoped this villa would remain as it was for 50 years after his death." Dr. Agasa sighed, still not out of the shadow of what had just happened. "So, naturally, he wouldn't hide any treasure here."

Fortunately, the three kids in the Detective Boys didn't hear this, otherwise Professor Agasa would have certainly given them a good eye roll.

"However, this villa will be demolished next month."

"I see. So, before this place gets demolished, Professor, you're going to use this dusty villa to let those kids have a treasure hunt, right?" Conan turned and looked at Professor Agasa.

Professor Agasa finally emerged from the shadow of his large nose and said with a smile, "Yes, that's it."

As Genta rummaged through the cabinet, he muttered, "Where is my treasure?"

"Genta, you can't just rummage around like that." Seeing Genta searching aimlessly, Professor Agasa, not wanting his efforts to be in vain, reminded him, "If you just pay more attention to your surroundings, you should be able to find important clues."

Conan feigned a look of utter despair and took a few steps: "That's right, it's like there's a strange line of text deliberately carved under my feet."

The three kids seemed to have discovered a new continent and rushed over according to the code, startling Professor Agasa and Conan. Kōyū sat on the sofa by the fireplace, licking a lollipop, looking completely different from the three kids who were looking for him so enthusiastically.

Looking at the marks on the ground, Ayumi couldn't help but read them aloud: "mo za ri sa wa so de ru".

The three of them were having a heated discussion about the meaning of the code.

Professor Agasa said smugly, "It's not that easy. Even Shinichi couldn't..."

Speaking of Shinichi, Dr. Agasa turned to look at Conan, only to find that Conan was gone. Dr. Agasa blinked and looked at Kouyu with a puzzled expression.

Guangyou pointed in the direction of the door, and the door was opened at that moment.

Conan walked in with his hands in his pockets, looking thoughtful.

Professor Agasa, assuming Conan hadn't found his hidden "treasure" either, asked smugly, "So, you, the great detective, have finally been stumped by my difficult question!"

Stroking his mustache, which was sticking up with delight, Professor Agasa said with a smile, "That's understandable. After all, I thought about it for three days and three nights without sleep before I came up with it. You didn't think of that..."

“If you’re talking about the wooden box where you hid your treasure, I just found it under the bed in the opposite bedroom.” Conan interrupted Professor Agasa directly. “Although I haven’t seen what’s inside the box yet, I was afraid it would be too easy to find, so I covered the box with a cloth and pushed it under the bed a little further.”
