Just as Guangyou said, many times, when a girl is "acting unreasonably," she just wants the boy to coax her.
There's no need to reason with them in this situation, because they understand these principles.
A simple hug is more effective than reasoning.
In fact, this approach has proven quite effective.
After Kōyū hugged Ai and whispered those words in her ear, a faint smile appeared on Ai's previously calm face.
"You really are talking to yourself..." Ai lay in Kouyu's arms, shifting her body to find a more comfortable position. She smiled, but her tone carried a hint of reproach.
"I'm just demonstrating for you."
Looking down at Ai, Kōyū explained as he reached out and gently tucked the hair that had fallen beside her cheek behind her ear.
That way he can see it more clearly.
The girl in his arms noticed his movement and slightly raised her head to meet his gaze.
"Hmm..." Ai looked at Kousuke and responded softly.
The sunlight outside the window was perfect, illuminating Ai's profile, her icy blue eyes seeming to shimmer.
“You’re acting really strange today…” Guangyou said with a smile, but then suddenly remembered something, his smile faded, and he spoke seriously.
"What's strange?" Ai asked, her brows furrowed slightly.
"It's strange that I like it..." Guangyou remembered that cheesy pickup line. He had never tried it before, so now was the perfect time to give it a shot.
After he finished speaking, a smile reappeared on his face.
It really feels a little strange to say this out loud.
"What about before?" Ai avoided Kousuke's gaze, looked out the window, and asked.
Without immediately replying, Kōyū lowered his head, leaving a slightly damp mark on Ai's cheek before speaking.
"Same."
She could clearly feel the mark Guangyou had left on her cheek, and she could also sense the seriousness in Guangyou's words.
Remembering what Kousuke had just said to her, Ai thought to herself with disdain, "How could he say something like that..."
But the next moment...
Looking at the scenery outside the window, Ai couldn't help but chuckle and asked, "Where did you learn all these things?"
“From the internet…” Guangyou was about to tell Ai that he had read these words online. Although there was nothing wrong with saying it, he didn’t want to say it that way.
"These words automatically come to mind when I see you."
"Heh~" Xiao Ai chuckled. Although she didn't believe the claim, the statement sounded quite agreeable.
"What, you don't believe me?" Seeing Ai's reaction, Kōyū deliberately frowned and asked.
"Of course I don't believe it." Ai didn't hide anything and nodded in agreement.
"Then what will it take for you to believe me?" Kōyū continued to press Ai, playing along with her.
"Say it again and see," Ai said, turning around.
"Okay... wait a minute." Guangyou was about to say something, but he stopped before he could finish. He pretended to sniff it twice and then asked.
"Ai, do you smell anything strange?"
Seeing his demeanor, Ai, who had never been exposed to such tricks before, did not suspect anything and sniffed him a few times, but she could not smell anything other than the scent on Kouyu.
Surprisingly, she thought it smelled quite nice.
Not surprising at all.
"I can't smell it," Ai replied.
"Didn't you notice that the air in this room tastes sweeter because of your presence?" Guangyou said to her with a smile, dropping his deliberately affected manner.
"Heh~"
Hearing her laughter, Guangyou asked again, "Still don't believe me?"
"Mm," Ai nodded calmly in response.
"Then say one more thing." Kōyū glanced at Ai meaningfully, but didn't say anything, and continued speaking on his own.
"Ai, people always change. From the first time I met you until now, you have really changed a lot."
Although she didn't know why Kousuke suddenly said these things, Ai still replied after hearing it, "Yes, things have definitely changed."
She was initially saddened by the thought of her sister's death, but later felt overjoyed upon learning the truth.
From initially not knowing how to face Guangyou, to later accepting him calmly.
She has indeed changed a lot.
“I’m no exception, I’ve changed too.” Guangyou took a breath and said slowly.
"Um."
Ai Haibara has a say in this matter. She used to think that Kousuke lacked a sense of security, but he's much better now.
Just as he said, both of them have changed a lot.
However, Ai still didn't know why Kousuke suddenly said these things.
She didn't ask any questions, and just lay in Guangyou's arms, listening quietly.
"From liking you at the beginning to liking you even more now, my liking for you deepens with each passing day," Kōyū continued to say to Ai.
"Heh~" Ai finally couldn't help but chuckle softly.
"Do you believe me now?" Kōyū smiled and looked at Ai, asking.
"I still have some doubts." Ai's smile faded, and her expression returned to calm.
"You little rascal, you really are..." Guangyou shook his head with a hint of helplessness.
"How about we leave it like this?" Ai made a move to get up from his arms.
However, she was just putting on an act; Guangyou didn't use much force at all to get her back into his arms.
"Then I'll say a few more words. It's not like I'm not going to say anything. You're really something."
"Hmm?" Ai looked up at Kousuke but didn't say anything.
"Ahem..." Guangyou took the blame, "I misspoke just now."
