"Come on, Ayumi..." Ayumi whispered to herself, thinking, "When Haibara comes over later, I need to smile naturally."
While others were complaining that Professor Agasa hadn't appeared yet, she was preparing for her plan to "call Ai by her nickname".
To be honest, Ayumi felt a little nervous, which is why she had to cheer herself up.
Professor Agasa hasn't come out yet, which gives her time to prepare.
During this time, she can think about what she should do after Ai comes out, which can also help ease her tension.
"Make sure your smile looks natural."
Thinking of this, Ayumi gave what she thought was a natural smile, while mentally rehearsing how to greet Ai later.
"Good morning, Ai-chan!"
A few seconds after the simulation ended, Ayumi suddenly thought of something, immediately wiped the smile off her face, frowned slightly, and thought to herself.
"But won't Haibara be upset?"
Such nicknames need to be approved by the other person; otherwise, they can easily offend them.
This is one of the reasons why Ayumi felt nervous.
She worried that if the plan failed, the two of them wouldn't even be able to remain friends.
"But Haibara will definitely respond with 'Good morning, Ayumi-chan,' right?" Ayumi comforted herself.
Although that's what she said on the surface, she didn't really think that Haibara would respond to her like that.
"But, given Haibara's personality, she probably wouldn't respond like that..." Ayumi thought to herself and gently shook her head.
It was as if she could forget all of this by doing so.
"Let's not worry about whether Haibara will respond to me. We're all friends, so it's normal to say hello!"
After comforting herself for a while, Ayumi decided that she should greet Ai no matter whether Ai responded or not.
What if it succeeds?
...
Meanwhile, Kōyū took in Ayumi's reaction.
He was unaware of Ayumi's plans, which was rather strange.
"What is Ayumi thinking about?" Mitsuhisa could tell that Ayumi was a little nervous, but he couldn't figure out why she was nervous. Was it because of camping?
impossible.
This isn't their first time camping; they've camped many times before. What's there to be nervous about?
He had just seen Ayumi smile for a moment, then look dejected, and a few seconds later she smiled again, followed by a flash of determination on her face.
It was as if Ayumi was struggling to make a choice.
Perhaps because of what happened a few days ago, after seeing Ayumi's strange reactions, Kōyū suddenly thought of a possibility.
"Could it be...?"
As he spoke, Kōyū glanced at Conan, who was wearing the green hat backwards, and thought to himself.
"Is Ayumi planning to confess her feelings to Conan while camping?"
"Kuangyou, why are you looking at me like that?" Conan turned the brim of his "health hat" to the back, looked at Kuangyou, and asked with some confusion.
"Um...it's nothing." Kōyū shook his head, not telling Conan what he was thinking. After all, it was just his guess, and there was no evidence to prove it.
Moreover, he felt it was unlikely.
Turning back, Kōyū glanced at Ayumi again.
"If that's the case, then they're too precocious."
But apart from this possibility, Kōyū couldn't think of any other possibilities.
Just as he was thinking about the answer, Professor Agasa finally appeared.
"Professor, you're late!" Genta said, looking at Professor Agasa as he walked out of the house.
"The scheduled departure time has long passed!" Mitsuhiko said to Professor Agasa after glancing at the time.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Professor Agasa scratched his head sheepishly, apologized to the group, and explained.
"I'm sorry I was a little slow because I spent a lot of time preparing!"
"That's because you didn't pack your luggage before going to sleep, right, Doctor?" Genta crossed his arms, as if he saw through everything.
"Hahaha, you guessed it." Professor Agasa was stunned for a moment, then scratched his head, looking embarrassed at being exposed.
It's clear that Dr. Agasa wasn't telling the truth, so Kōyū believed Dr. Agasa's claim that he spent a long time compiling the information from the beginning.
Instead, he directly asked Ai, who was walking behind him.
"Ai, what is the real situation?"
"What we spent a lot of time on wasn't preparation, but cleaning." Ai Haibara directly exposed the claim that a lot of time was spent on preparation.
"If I leave for even a few days, the garbage piles up into mountains."
She seemed somewhat helpless when she talked about it.
A few days ago, she went to stay at Guangyou's place. Apart from occasionally sending a text message reminding her to "be careful of high-calorie foods," she didn't pay any attention to things here.
Unexpectedly, in just a few days, apart from the basement, trash such as takeout boxes could be seen everywhere else.
Upon seeing Ai, Ayumi took a breath. She had everything planned out, but when the moment actually arrived, she began to stammer.
Good morning, oh dear...oh dear...oh dear...
In the end, after much lamentation, Ayumi didn't actually use that nickname; instead, she used another phrase to smooth things over.
"Haibara-san, you look sleepy."
Just as she said this, Ai yawned.
Upon hearing this, Ai glanced at Ayumi and replied, "Yeah, I didn't sleep well last night. I'll catch up on some sleep in the car later."
