"Sorry, sorry!" Professor Agasa chuckled and scratched his head, offering no explanation and maintaining an embarrassed expression.
Professor Agasa has apologized several times since then.
This attitude makes it impossible for you to get angry.
Moreover, this is not an irreparable mistake, and there is no need to make a big deal out of it.
"Alright, Professor, just be more careful next time." Kousuke waved his hand, indicating that Professor Agasa didn't need to apologize anymore.
Then he urged Professor Agasa to get in the car quickly.
"Let's get in the car first. It's been more than half an hour since our agreed departure time."
“Yes, Doctor, let’s go!” Genta chimed in impatiently.
"Alright, let's set off now." Professor Agasa smiled and then gestured for the others to get in the car. "You guys hurry up and get in the car."
"Long live the Doctor!" Genta and Mitsuhiko laughed and ran to the Beetle, opened the back door, and got in.
"Ayumi, come quick!" Mitsuhiko patted the empty seat next to him and beckoned to Ayumi.
“Okay!” Ayumi nodded and sat down in the back of the Beetle. Seeing that Conan hadn’t gotten in yet, she turned to Mitsuhiko, who was sitting next to her, and said.
"Mitsuhiko, move over a bit. Conan hasn't come up yet."
Upon hearing Ayumi's words, Mitsuhiko was taken aback for a moment, but he didn't say anything. He simply moved to the side and then spoke to Genta, who was sitting next to him.
"Genta, please move over a bit. There's nowhere left for me to sit."
"Oh, okay."
For some reason, Genta suddenly felt that Mitsuhiko wasn't as happy as before, but he didn't think too much about it. He nodded and moved a little further inside.
"Conan!" Ayumi moved over and patted the empty seat, saying to Conan, "Come sit here!"
"Okay, thank you, Ayumi." Conan didn't think much of it, nodded in response, sat down next to Ayumi, and thanked her as well.
"You're welcome!" Ayumi replied with a smile.
Mitsuhiko, sitting next to Ayumi, glanced at Conan and suddenly let out a barely audible sigh.
...
“Let’s go too.” Kōyū opened the passenger door, turned to the side, and gestured for Ai to go in first. “You can catch up on some sleep later.”
"Okay." Ai nodded and sat in the passenger seat.
Then Kōyū sat down next to Ai and closed the car door.
"Professor, nothing should have been left behind, right?" Kousuke turned to Professor Agasa and asked.
"Don't worry, Mitsuyu, I won't forget anything this time," Professor Agasa replied confidently.
"Let's go then." Kōyū suddenly remembered something and reminded Professor Agasa, "Professor, drive carefully later."
"I understand." Dr. Agasa, knowing what Mitsuyu was thinking, nodded in response and then smiled at the people in the car.
"Let's set off now."
The children sitting in the back row shouted in unison, "Yes!"
The Beetle then slowly started moving and headed towards the campsite.
...
Before the car had gone far, the three children in the back seat waved and shouted in unison, "Camping! Camping! Happy camping!"
"Camping again tomorrow!"
"Ayumi, could you two please keep your voices down?" Kōyū put his arm around Ai and turned to Ayumi, who was sitting in the back seat, and said, "Ai didn't sleep very well yesterday, so I wanted her to catch up on some sleep in the car."
"Okay, I understand." Ayumi nodded, and the other two quieted down after hearing this.
"Thank you." Kōyū said his thanks, then lowered his head and whispered to Ai in his arms, "Ai, you sleep for a while, I'll wake you up when we get there."
"Mmm." Ai nodded slightly, then slowly closed her eyes.
Not long after, Ai fell asleep in Kōyū's arms.
After driving for another ten minutes or so, the Beetle had arrived in the suburbs.
Seeing that the children in the back row were focused on the scenery outside the window, Conan stood up, leaned close to Professor Agasa's ear, and whispered a question.
"Doctor, have you figured out the meaning of that diary?"
"Which diary?" Professor Agasa asked softly, leaning back as he drove and unable to turn around.
Worried that the children nearby would hear, Conan put his hand to his mouth first, and then whispered.
"It's the diary of Mr. Itakura, the computer programmer who handed over some kind of system software to those men in black."
"To be precise, it should be a secret diary that Mr. Itakura left in a blank space in his diary, in a special way, related to his transactions with those men in black."
After explaining, Conan glanced at the three people sitting next to him, and seeing that they were still looking at the scenery outside the window, he continued.
"At the end of that diary, weren't there a few mysterious phrases recorded?"
"Ah... I remember now." Professor Agasa had a deep impression of this matter, and Conan's mention of it brought it up.
"Is it that line, 'We are bringing the dead back to life'?"
"Yes, that's the line." Conan nodded.
His attention was entirely on Professor Agasa, and he didn't notice that when Professor Agasa said those words, Kousuke glanced in their direction.
"I don't know what that sentence means..." Professor Agasa shook his head and said.
"I see..." Conan wasn't disappointed. He nodded and prepared to sit back down to think carefully about the meaning of those words.
Before he could make a move, he heard Professor Agasa say something else after he finished speaking.
