“Let’s head straight to Beika Hotel now.” Conan was excited, wanting to meet Pisco directly. “Now that we know their plan, we should stop them.”
Conan's ideas are naive and straightforward, which is both his strength and his weakness.
Kouyu said to Professor Agasa, who was driving, "Professor, let's go buy two sets of clothes and get some new clothes."
Ai chuckled softly: "Kudo, your thinking is still so naive. Mitsuyu's thinking is much more comprehensive."
Conan realized that the event was taking place at a memorial service, and felt that everyone's clothes were somewhat inappropriate. He awkwardly scratched his head and chuckled.
At this moment, Gin and Vodka found a secluded corner and parked the car. Vodka was carefully checking whether there was any other equipment in the car.
Kōyū isn't that stupid; if he had any, he would have activated them all at once, not giving Gin time to search. Gin clearly knows this, but just to be on the safe side, it's best to check carefully.
Gin stood beside the car, a cigarette dangling from his lips, his calm expression belying his recent ordeal.
He made a phone call to someone: "Yes, it's that shark again. This has happened so many times. This time he even planted a bomb in my car."
"I think he already knows about our operation, and he's probably just going back to join in the fun. We don't know what his target is yet."
"Okay, I'll go back and meet up with you guys after I've checked the car here."
......
Guangyou and his entourage specially bought all black clothes to attend the memorial service.
Wearing black clothes, Conan suddenly looked much more serious.
Upon arriving at Beika Hotel, information about the upcoming memorial service was posted at the entrance.
Using their height advantage, the three successfully blended into the hall where the memorial service was being held.
The hall was crowded, and everyone around her was dressed in black, which made Ai feel a little uncomfortable.
Noticing Ai's unusual behavior, Kousuke patted her on the shoulder: "Don't worry, I'm here, you'll be fine."
“I know.” Ai recalled the dream and explained, “I had a nightmare recently. I dreamt that we were walking on the street, and it was snowing just like now. Gin suddenly appeared behind me and shot me. You took the bullet for me, and then you were shot and killed in front of me.”
Ai Haibara sounded a little downcast: "I really don't want to involve you guys anymore. I'm really afraid that the scenes in my dreams will appear in real life, I..."
Kōyū reached out and covered Ai's mouth: "Silly girl, if the scene in my dream comes true, it's my honor. Besides, do you really not trust me at all?"
Conan comforted him, saying, "Don't think like that. People say dreams are the opposite of reality, so maybe yours is like that?"
Ai gave a wry smile: "I hope so."
Observing the people in the hall, Conan exclaimed, "There are so many celebrities at this memorial service! There's a female writer, a professional baseball investor, a famous music producer, a super popular American actress, a professor, and even business tycoons are here."
“This place is filled with that repulsive atmosphere!” Kōyū revealed a meaningful smile. “That Kenzō Masuyama is Pisco.”
Conan and Ai looked surprised when they heard what Kousuke said: "How did you know?"
Guangyou simply smiled at the two of them without saying anything.
"Do you know who Pisco is targeting?" Ai asked.
"Ah, of course." Based on what Gin said on the phone and his keen observation, Conan roughly determined the target. "It should be the guy surrounded by a group of reporters by the door."
Ai recognized the guy at the door: "He's the congressman who was suspected of accepting bribes and was reported."
"He should also be part of the organization, like Ai-neechan, an outer member. The bribes are to provide funds for the organization." Kōyū roughly guessed the identity of Tōguchi Shigehiko.
Conan stroked his chin: "That makes sense then. The organization certainly had a good reason to kill him to silence him."
Just when Conan thought there were too many people and the other party wouldn't dare to make a move, the lights in the hall suddenly went out.
Conan still lacks experience. Crowded places like this are actually ideal locations for many attacks. A large number of people means chaos when something happens, and chaos creates opportunities.
The lights in the hall were not tampered with by the attackers, but were arranged by the host on stage, who said he wanted to see some photos that the director of the funeral parlor, who was trying to save money by not releasing them to the public.
“It seems the perpetrator knew about these activities,” Guangyou murmured.
As darkness fell, Conan sensed something was wrong and began searching for the culprit.
In the darkness, a shadowy figure raised a silenced gun and fired a shot at the connection point of a lamp on the ceiling of the hall. A crisp sound echoed through the hall.
The police, who had arrived long ago, weren't stupid either. Inspector Megure immediately told his officers to turn on the lights.
Aside from this incident, the host just stood there dumbfounded, which is really something else.
A second before the light came on, Conan felt something on his head. He took it down and found it was a handkerchief.
The next second, the lights came on, and the people attending the memorial service screamed upon seeing Shigehiko Tomonokuchi, who had been killed by the falling light.
It was only then that the host realized something might be wrong. He went to the scene of the incident and saw that someone had been killed by a decorative light hanging from the ceiling.
