Chapter 910 I'm so sorry

Within seconds of hearing the riddle, Conan had already guessed the answer.

"The professor is still not good at riddles," Conan shook his head and complained. "However, he's quite good at ruining the mood."

The atmosphere inside the car was cheerful just now, but after Professor Agasa suggested we play riddles, the atmosphere among everyone turned cold, like a campfire doused with cold water.

In fact, Professor Agasa's brain is very sharp; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to come up with a riddle in such a short time based on a word he overheard by chance.

This requires a certain amount of knowledge, which most people don't have.

Professor Agasa simply lacks the talent for riddles.

He originally intended to use riddles to liven up the atmosphere or make it better, but in the end, it always had the opposite effect.

The atmosphere didn't become more cheerful; instead, it became awkward.

Most importantly, Professor Agasa doesn't seem to realize this yet.

He thought the silence was because everyone was trying to figure out the answer to the riddle.

Um...

Conan glanced at Ayumi and the other two who were deep in thought, and shrugged.

That's not wrong, but even Ayumi and the others, who haven't figured out the answer yet, don't have any hope for Professor Agasa's riddle.

They just didn't want to see Professor Agasa come up with riddles that no one was willing to answer.

"Have you guessed the answer yet?" Professor Agasa said with a chuckle as he drove. "If you can't guess it, I'll reveal the answer."

"Wait a minute, Doctor," Mitsuhiko interrupted. "We'll figure it out soon."

"Then let's wait a little longer."

Seeing that no one had answered yet, Professor Agasa secretly felt smug, marveling at how difficult the riddle he had just come up with was.

But if the riddle is too difficult, it won't work if no one can answer it. If he reveals the answer, it will lose the fun of solving the riddle.

However, it's still appropriate to provide a hint.

With a smug smile on his face, Dr. Agasa gave a hint.

"The answer is a really delicious snack."

"Is this hint any different from not having one?" Guangyou twitched his lips. All four options were snacks, and they all tasted pretty good.

Is this supposed to be considered a hint?

He and Ai guessed the answer within seconds of hearing the riddle.

The answer is straightforward and very easy to guess.

The answer is hidden in the riddle.

However, it's normal that Ayumi and the others haven't figured it out yet, since Professor Agasa specifically changed the keywords in the riddle to English.

It was indeed quite difficult for Ayumi and the others who weren't very fluent in English.

But this word isn't difficult.

"Powder Snow Ski Resort" was actually what Dr. Agasa originally said, which translates to "Powder Snow".

Perhaps because saying "powder snow" directly would make the riddle too simple, Professor Agasa deliberately changed the word to English.

The vocabulary size of elementary school students is just right for Ayumi and her classmates to think about what the word really means.

Of the three of them, only Mitsuhiko, whose parents are both teachers and who reads books frequently, probably knows this word.

And that was indeed the case. Although Mitsuhiko knew the meaning of the word, he still couldn't guess the answer.

"Oh, right." Professor Agasa suddenly remembered that this question wasn't very challenging for Kouyu and the others, so he said to them before the answer was revealed.

"Guangyou, if you three guess the answer, remember not to tell anyone."

"Don't worry, Professor," Kōyū waved his hand, reassuring Professor Agasa, "We won't tell anyone."

"Hmm?" Ayumi stopped thinking, looked up at Kousuke, and subconsciously wanted to call out Kousuke's name, but suddenly remembered something and didn't say it.

After she stopped, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.

Having learned from her previous experience, Ayumi didn't hesitate for too long because of her shyness. After calming down a bit, she asked.

"Yu...Yu-kun, do you already know the answer?"

Although she had already called out once, Ayumi subconsciously lowered her voice this time, only returning to normal volume when she asked later.

"Yes, I already know." Kōyū was a little uncomfortable with Ayumi calling him that, but he didn't show it on his face. He nodded and replied.

Could you give me a hint?

Just as Ayumi finished speaking, Kousuke heard Professor Agasa cough softly.

Clearly, this was a reminder not to reveal the answer.

"I won't tell anyone," Kousuke said, reassuring Professor Agasa. He then thought for a moment about how to give a hint before speaking to Ayumi.

"The key to solving this riddle is that English word."

After thinking it over, this was the only hint he could come up with.

"An English word?" Yuan Tai turned around and asked, "Is it 'Powder Snow'? What does that mean in English?"

“‘Powder Snow’ means powdery snow,” Mitsuhiko explained to Genta.

"Pink Snow?" Ayumi frowned, closed her eyes, and thought carefully.

"What is the answer to the mystery?" Mitsuhiko and Genta hadn't quite figured it out yet.

"I see!"

Just then, Ayumi realized the answer to the riddle. She opened her eyes wide, looked at Professor Agasa, and asked, "Professor, the answer is D, takoyaki, right?"

"Huh?" Professor Agasa was a little surprised. He hadn't expected Ayumi to be able to guess the answer, and to do so on her first try.
