Chapter 914: It was definitely not because of milk tea that I changed my mind.

"I know." Kōyū wasn't tall enough, so he patted Takagi's arm and said, "Are you worried that the police officers who also like Miwako-neechan will hear us?"

"The main reason is that I don't want Officer Sato to hear it, otherwise she will definitely be bothered by it." Takagi blushed and didn't dare to admit it directly.

Within the Metropolitan Police Department, the number of men pursuing Miwako Sato could easily form a reinforced company.

This is not an exaggeration at all.

Basically, all the single police officers of similar age had considered pursuing Miwako Sato.

Last time, because Miwako Sato lost contact, almost all the police officers in Tokyo who were not on duty were dispatched to search for her.

Not all the people inside were pursuing Sato Miwako; many of them were married veteran police officers, some even with children, who treated her like their own daughter.

If anyone else had heard what Kousuke just said, Takagi could guarantee that within ten minutes, the entire Metropolitan Police Department would know.

No, it might not even take five minutes.

When he finishes giving his statement and goes outside, he will find a group of "fierce-looking police officers" waiting for him at the door.

He had experienced that scene once before, and he didn't want to experience it a second time.

"Then I won't say anything." Kōyū gave Takagi a meaningful smile, not exposing him, and after a pause, asked again.

"Officer Takagi, you and Miwako-neechan are now..."

"We're just colleagues." Takagi sighed as she thought of this, her once straight back hunching over slightly.

"Is it really just a colleague relationship?" Guangyou raised an eyebrow, rubbed his chin, and asked again in a skeptical tone.

"What else can we do?" Takagi said helplessly. "If there's any progress, that would be great."

“But I think you two have made progress.” Miyu recalled what Miwako had said to Takagi earlier and came to a completely different opinion from Takagi.

"Huh?" Takagi looked at Kōyū with some confusion.

Clearly, he didn't get Guangyou's point.

"Ai, what do you think?" Kousuke didn't explain, but turned to Ai and asked.

“I agree with you.” Ai nodded and said calmly, “There has indeed been some progress, it’s just that someone who’s slow to react hasn’t noticed it yet.”

The person's name was replaced with "someone" in the sentence, but anyone could tell that this "slow-witted person" was Takagi.

"Is there...any progress?" Takagi asked, somewhat bewildered.

If there's been any progress, why hasn't he noticed it?

"What do you think?" Kōyū didn't explain. This was something Takagi had to handle himself; he was just giving him a heads-up.

"I feel like..." Takagi hesitated.

He didn't feel that anything was progressing between him and Miwako.

Everything was the same as usual, with no difference.

While Takagi was still hesitating, the group arrived at the door of the room where the statements were being taken.

"Officer Takagi, we can talk about the rest later." Kōyū patted Takagi, who almost went too far, and said, "Let's take a statement first."

"Okay, sure." Takagi snapped out of her daze, opened the door, and went inside.

The others followed him into the room.

"Is there really any progress?" Takagi sat down in the chair, absentmindedly taking out his notebook and pen, still muttering to himself.

"I didn't notice it."

He was still thinking about what Miyu had just said, and recalling the past few days, he didn't feel that Miwako's attitude towards him had changed.

As usual, we called him "Officer Takagi".

"Officer Takagi, don't waste time, we haven't had lunch yet." Seeing that he was still daydreaming, Kōyū slapped the table, making a "bang bang bang" sound, and urged him on.

"Let's start taking statements right away."

"Oh, sorry, sorry." Takagi snapped out of her reverie, opened her notebook, picked up a pen, and said, "Then let's begin..."

...

Since the case is closed, the police already know the answers to many questions, and they also learned the answers to some other questions from Haruka Tendo.

The main reason for having Guangyou and his group give statements was to verify the accuracy of the information provided by Tiantang Qinghua and to complete the statements.

And Haruka Tendai, freed from hatred, provided all the information she needed that was accurate.

Therefore, it only took the group more than ten minutes to complete their statements.

"Thank you so much for making this special trip today." Takagi finished writing the last word, put away his pen, closed his notebook, and looked up at the group.

“No trouble at all.” Professor Agasa stood up from his chair and asked, “Officer Takagi, is there anything else we need to do?”

"If not, I'll take the children to lunch first."

“That’s all.” Takagi stood up, holding the notebook, and said, “I can take care of the rest. You guys go have lunch first.”

"Officer Takagi, aren't you going to eat?" Ayumi looked up at Takagi and asked.

"I have things to do, you guys go ahead and eat." Takagi said with a smile, then opened the door for the group.

"Alright then." Professor Agasa led Ayumi and the others out of the room, then said to Takagi, "Officer Takagi, thank you for your hard work."

"This is my job, it's nothing hard," Takagi said, scratching his head a little embarrassed.

After everyone left the room, Takagi closed the door, looked around, walked to Kōyū's side, bent down, and asked in a low voice.
