“That’s perfect. When you go back later, Doctor, take these things with you.” Guangyou gestured to the gift bag placed to the side and said.
"I'll come get it later."
"Okay." Professor Agasa nodded.
The group ate their warm takoyaki, occasionally exchanging a few words or glancing at Ayumi and her two friends who were having a great time in the play area.
Ten minutes passed, and Professor Agasa checked the time, stood up from his chair, and prepared to have Ayumi and the other two stop.
When he called just now, Ayumi's mother knew that the camping trip had ended early, so she said she would take Ayumi out for dinner that night, and he had to take Ayumi home early.
"Professor, are we going back now?" Ayumi followed behind Professor Agasa, looking back in the direction of the amusement park, feeling somewhat reluctant to leave.
"Your mother said she's taking you out to dinner tonight, apparently to meet some relatives," Dr. Agasa explained to Ayumi.
"We have to go back now, or we might not make it in time."
"Alright then." Although Ayumi was a little reluctant, she knew what was important and what was not. After listening to the explanation, she nodded obediently.
"Ai, let's go too." Kōyū stood up, carrying the bag, and said, "After we finish watching the movie, we can go get some dinner."
"Hmm." As Ai got up, she suddenly remembered something and said, "I'll go to the bookstore later to buy some books."
"Buy books?" Guangyou didn't ask any more questions and nodded in agreement. "Okay, then we'll go to the bookstore first."
After confirming that nothing had been left behind, the group left the mall, returned to their parking spot, and put all the items they had bought into the Beetle.
"Professor, we'll be going now. I'll go get these things later." Kōyū closed the car door and said goodbye to Professor Agasa.
"Alright." Professor Agasa activated the Beetle and said, "Then we'll be going now."
Afterwards, Mitsuyu, Ayumi, and the other two said "goodbye" to each other, and then Professor Agasa stepped on the gas and drove towards Beika Town.
"Let's go to the bookstore," said Kōyū, taking Ai's hand.
"Mm." Ai nodded.
...
Coincidentally, Guangyou discovered that there was a medium-sized bookstore a few hundred meters away from the movie theater.
"Ai, what kind of book do you want to buy?" Kōyū asked curiously as he walked into the bookstore with Ai.
"Some research books." Ai looked around and then pulled Kousuke along, heading straight for the section of academic books.
Arriving at the bookshelf displaying professional books, Guangyou casually pulled one out, flipped through a few pages, and gave it a cursory glance.
Hmm, very good, there's a large part of it that he doesn't understand.
Putting the book back on the shelf, Kōyū abandoned his idea of finding enjoyment in these books and turned his head to look at Ai.
Turning his head, Kōyū saw Ai standing in front of the bookshelf, holding a book in her hands, reading very attentively.
"No wonder they're professionals."
After sighing to himself, Kōyū, not wanting to disturb Ai, walked to the manga section, picked up a manga, and started reading.
Compared to professional books, comic books are definitely more interesting.
He didn't know how much time had passed, but he knew that he had finished reading more than twenty chapters of the manga when Ai's voice rang in his ears, bringing him back to reality.
"Have you bought them?" Kōyū put down the comic book in his hand and glanced at the thick professional books in Ai's hand.
It's about cells, and it's about DNA...
Actually, if he wanted to look up information, the Mika Library would be a better choice, but he and Ai were going to see a movie, so it wasn't convenient for them to go to the library to look up information today.
"Okay, let's go." Ai nodded and said, "Let's pay the bill and then go see a movie."
The two left the bookstore and arrived at the movie theater. Looking at the movie titles on the screen, Kōyū asked, "Ai, what do you want to see?"
"Let's go with 'Sense and Sensibility'," Ai Haibara said, looking up at the screen.
"Okay." Guangyou had some recollection of the movie's title.
If he remembers correctly, this book was written by Jane Austen, the British female writer who wrote Pride and Prejudice.
...
When the two of them came out of the movie theater after watching the movie, it was already dusk.
The sun was setting and the sky was getting dark.
The movie adaptation was very successful. Regardless of what others say, he and Ai both think the movie is great.
The characters are full of emotion, and the control over the emotions between men and women is precise and subtle.
The actors' superb acting skills, combined with the lines and the perfectly timed background music, allow the audience to feel as if they are in the middle of the story and experience the emotional fluctuations between the characters.
During the movie screening, many emotional viewers in the theater shed tears because of a particular scene in the film.
"The movie was pretty good." Guangyou looked up at the sky, which was already bathed in the golden light of the setting sun, and said, "Let's go have dinner."
"Hmm." Ai walked forward side by side with Kouyu. She looked down at their hands clasped together, then slowly moved her gaze upward.
Finally, it landed on the subtle upward curve of Guangyou's lips.
Recalling the movie, a faint smile appeared on Ai's face.
"What are you looking at?" Kōyū noticed Ai's gaze, turned to look at her, and asked with a smile.
"It's nothing," Ai quickly wiped the smile off her face and replied calmly.
"Alright then." Kōyū didn't press the matter. In fact, when he turned his head, he saw Ai's smile, but he just didn't expose her.
