After washing up, Guangyou had just stepped out of the bathroom when he immediately saw Conan rummaging through drawers looking for a thermometer.
"That's strange, where did you put the thermometer?" Conan frowned, opening the box containing spare medicines, somewhat puzzled.
He remembered that the thermometer was placed here, so why can't he find it now?
It was taken and not returned?
"Kuangyou, do you know where the thermometer is?" Conan stood up, looked at Kuangyou, and asked.
"How would I know?" Guangyou shrugged. He exercised regularly and was in good physical condition, and hadn't been sick for a long time.
"That's strange." Conan thought back and realized that neither Ran nor Uncle Mori had been sick during this period.
There shouldn't be anyone carrying a thermometer.
"If you don't have a thermometer, how about Ran takes your temperature?" Kōyū suggested to Conan as he sat down at the dining table.
Even without a thermometer, it's not impossible to check if someone has a fever; there are many other methods.
It's just that those methods aren't as accurate as a thermometer.
"Let Ran help you take your temperature?" Conan was stunned for a moment when he heard this, and the image of Ran taking his temperature slowly surfaced in his mind.
Just then, as the two were talking about these things, Xiaolan came out of the kitchen carrying breakfast.
"Ran-neechan, could you take Conan's temperature?" Kouyu didn't care whether Conan would agree or not, and directly told Ran about it.
"I don't know where I put the thermometer."
"Can't find a thermometer?" Xiaolan put the breakfast on the table, took off her apron, and nodded in agreement. "Okay then."
Then, Ran walked up to Conan, bent down, and used the back of her hand to check Conan's temperature.
When he saw that Xiaolan was taking her temperature in this way, Guangyou shook his head in slight disappointment.
He wanted to see Ran use the "forehead-to-forehead" method to take Conan's temperature.
To be precise, he wanted to see Conan's expression when Ran took his temperature that way.
"It seems like she really does have a slight fever." Ran withdrew her hand and said, "Conan, after breakfast, you and Mitsuyu go to the hospital to get checked out."
"Okay, I understand." Conan nodded, his expression somewhat unnatural.
Although the back of his hand wasn't as close as his forehead, Conan felt that the distance was already very close; he wasn't a seasoned veteran like Mitsuyuki.
"Let's go eat breakfast." After Ran finished speaking to Conan, she turned and glanced at Uncle Mori's closed door, saying with a hint of helplessness.
"Dad is really something, he's still not up."
"Conan, isn't it a pity?" Kōyū swallowed his breakfast, turned his head to look at Conan sitting next to him, and asked in a teasing tone.
"Why should it be a pity?" Conan didn't react.
"Of course it's a pity Ran didn't use her forehead to check your temperature." Kōyū gently nudged Conan with his shoulder, raised an eyebrow, and looked amused.
"Hey..." Conan pursed his lips after hearing this and glanced at Kōyū speechlessly.
What's wrong with this person's thinking...?
Despite his disdain, Conan still mentally imagined Ran taking his temperature with her forehead.
It seems pretty good...
If Kouyu knew what Conan was thinking, he would definitely look down on him.
Instead of teasing Conan any further, Kōyū continued eating his breakfast, took out his phone from his pocket, and sent a text message to Ai.
The content is very ordinary, just a simple "Good morning".
He didn't wait for Ai's reply. After sending the text message, Kōyū put his phone on the table and focused on eating his breakfast.
Halfway through breakfast, Kōyū received a reply from Ai:
"Good morning."
Putting down his chopsticks, Kōyū picked up his phone, edited a text message about his trip to the hospital with Conan, and sent it.
If it weren't for this incident, Kōyū had intended to take Ai to the Beika Library.
The library's materials are definitely more comprehensive and can better help Ai.
But Conan has a cold, and he and Conan are in the same room.
Although the two slept in their own beds, the doors were closed while they slept, and the air did not circulate, so he must have been infected with germs.
He exercises regularly and is in excellent physical condition; common colds are no match for him.
But Ai's physical condition is not as good as his. If he were to go to Ai and infect her with his cold, that would be bad.
This is not what Kōyū wanted to see.
Anyway, the two of them see each other quite often, so one more day won't make a difference.
After swallowing the last bite of breakfast, Kōyū received a reply from Ai:
"I know. Be careful these next few days, don't catch a cold, or don't expect me to take care of you."
After reading the text message, Guangyou felt the care between the lines and chuckled softly.
This girl's way of showing concern is still the same; it's as if Ai is disliking him, but she is indeed caring about him.
If he really catches a cold, Mitsuyu knows very well that Ai will definitely come to take care of him.
Even when she's taking care of him, she might complain a little or say something like, "I told you to be careful," but her concern is genuine.
"I'll be careful, and so will you. If you get tired from research, take a break. Don't get so caught up in your work that you forget to eat."
After editing the text message, Kōyū pressed the send button and sent it to Ai.
Not long after, Kōyū received a reply from Ai, which was still very concise:
"Okay, I understand."
"I'm heading to the hospital now." Kōyū stared at the text message on his phone screen for a while, then edited another message and sent it to Ai.
