Chapter 969 Leaving

"You'll go pick them up?" Uncle Maoli didn't immediately agree; he was a little worried. "Are you sure you can manage alone? What if you get lost?"

"I'm going with Ai," Kōyū said confidently. "Uncle, don't worry, I won't get lost."

The route from the river to Akashi Hiroshi's house was not complicated, and he remembered it clearly.

Moreover, with his long-accumulated experience, it was impossible for him to get lost in such a forest.

Actually, you don't need any experience. In elementary school, teachers taught us how to determine direction in the wild.

In second grade, there is a text called "If You Get Lost in the Wild," which mentions four kinds of natural "compasses."

"Alright then." Uncle Mori looked at Kōyū, considered for a moment, and then agreed.

The main reason that Uncle Mori agreed was Kōyū's usual behavior:

They've basically never caused any trouble and have always been very reliable.

"Be careful on the road," Uncle Mori instructed, then told Yamamura Misao about it over the phone.

“No problem.” Yamamura Misao agreed quickly without much thought. “Mr. Mori, just have Mitsuyu wait for me over there. I’ll bring people over right away.”

"Thank you, Officer Yamamura," Uncle Mori said politely.

"I'm glad I can help Mr. Mori!" Yamamura Misao's excited voice came through the receiver to the ears of the people on the shore.

"If only a beautiful woman had said that..." Uncle Mori muttered softly, sensing Yamamura Misao's enthusiasm.

"Mr. Mori, what did you just say? I didn't hear you clearly," Yamamura Misao asked, puzzled.

"It's nothing," Uncle Mori said casually, coming back to his senses. "I just wanted to thank Officer Yamamura. You really went to a lot of trouble this time."

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Uncle Mori hung up the phone and turned to Kouyu, saying, "Kouyu, go ahead, we'll wait for you here."

"Guangyou, you two be careful on the road," Xiaolan said, still a little worried. "How about I go with you?"

"Don't worry, Sister Xiaolan, I won't get lost." Guangyou waved his hand and pointed to the fishing box on the ground.

"You can go fishing to pass the time. I'll be back soon."

Of all the luggage the group brought, only this fishing box containing their fishing gear remains; the rest is still in the car.

"Alright, you two be careful." Xiaolan thought of Guangyou's reliable performance and didn't insist any further.

"I understand," Kōyū replied, then took Ai's hand and walked upstream along the shore.

...

After walking for more than ten minutes, Guangyou suddenly saw a strangely shaped stone.

"Let's go into the forest." When Guangyou saw the familiar rock, he knew they had arrived at their destination.

He had originally noticed the rock to confirm where they had been fishing, but he hadn't expected it to be a perfect landmark.

The two entered the forest and headed towards Akashi Hiroshi's house.

When they arrived at Akashi Hiroshi's house after nearly half an hour, Yamamura Misao was already waiting at the door.

Yesterday's rain caused road blockages, but the problem was resolved early this morning.

So the mountain village cadre arrived much faster than yesterday.

"Officer Yamamura, let's hurry up and go." Guangyou didn't waste any words and went straight to the point, "Uncle's car is still soaking in the water."

"Okay, please sit down first."

After exchanging a few words with the police officer beside him, Yamamura drove the two men and the people he had found in the direction Guangyou had indicated.

Having a car makes traveling much faster.

It took more than ten minutes for the car to stop on the riverbank.

Upon seeing the car in the middle of the river, Yamamura Misao remained silent for a moment.

He thought it was a bit far-fetched when he first heard the news.

After all, the rain wasn't too heavy, and he figured it wouldn't wash the car away.

unless...

"Mr. Mori, did you park the car in the river?" Yamamura Misao hesitated for a moment, but finally asked, "How did it get washed away?"

"..." Uncle Mori was partly unwilling to talk to Yamamura Misao, and partly unsure how to explain it to him.

Did he tell Yamamura that his car was washed away by the water because he was in a hurry to see the female college student and forgot to engage the handbrake?

And judging from what they said, what did they mean by "is this what you mean by parking the car in the river?"

Can't you speak properly?

He's not sick, so why would he park his car in the river?

Since the other person had just helped him, Uncle Mori couldn't say anything.

Since I don't know how to explain it, I can only remain silent.

Fortunately, Shancun Cao didn't ask any more questions, but instead started talking about the video from yesterday.

Of course, this will certainly include plenty of praise.

Therefore, Uncle Mori's worries about the car lessened, and he felt much better.

Meanwhile, Mitsuyu and Ai were standing next to Ran, watching her fish.

Just as the two of them went to pick up the person, Xiaolan caught two fish.

It wasn't a big one, but at least I caught one.

If he didn't have to leave after getting the car ashore, Guangyou was thinking of catching a few fish and making a grilled meal.

The professionals worked quickly, and in just a few minutes, they got the car out of the middle of the river.

The moment the wheels hit the ground, Uncle Mori, who had been waiting nearby, rushed over.

“One…two…three…” Uncle Mori circled the car, painfully counting the scratches on its body. “Five…there are five!”
