"Doctor! Dinner's ready!"
After calling out in the direction of the research lab, Guangyou quickly placed the freshly cooked dish on the table.
"I really envy you guys, you get to eat my cooking so often."
Looking at the plates of delicious-looking dishes on the table, he said earnestly:
"If this were Tire & San-San, this dinner would definitely cost at least 50,000 yen."
"Tires?" Ai paused for a moment before realizing what he meant. "You mean Michelin?"
"Yeah, isn't this restaurant rating system something that the founder of Michelin tires came up with?" Guangyou said confidently.
"With my skill level, I'm definitely a three-star restaurant chef."
It wasn't that he was bragging; he had actually served as the head chef of a Michelin three-star restaurant before, for a specific assignment.
However, he only served for a week, and left as soon as he finished his task.
"Why don't you become a chef in the future?" Ai teased Kousuke in kind. "I think it would be very promising, Chef."
Giving Kōyū various nicknames is a regular activity for Ai Haibara.
Mr. Cherry Blossom... Mr. Photographer... and now Mr. Chef...
He already has many nicknames.
So many nicknames that not only Kousuke, but even Ai, who gave him all these nicknames, couldn't remember exactly what nicknames she had given him.
However, she still remembers a few of those nicknames.
For example, the nickname "Mr. Cherry Blossom" originated from the day she took the initiative to ask Kōyū out on a date; she sent him a text message at that time.
Besides the nickname, there's also an emoticon.
"Besides my sister, he's the first person to let me use emoticons," Ai thought to herself.
“Cooking is just a hobby for me; I don’t want it to become my job,” Guangyou said, shaking his head.
When hobbies become work, it can cause people to lose interest.
Just like an ordinary online novel author.
At first, it was because I enjoyed writing novels, but once the books were published, I stayed up until four or five in the morning every day for a little bit of royalties.
If there is still no positive feedback, that is, no readers and no results.
That interest may be dampened or even extinguished.
Writing novels can become a burden.
"It's better if we don't go." Ai had other thoughts in her mind.
Once you become the head chef, you'll have to cook for others.
Besides, catering is tiring, so I can just cook for her at home; there's no need for me to be the head chef.
Of course, if Guangyou really wants to go, she will support him.
“I’d rather be your personal chef,” Kōyū said with a smile, as he leaned closer to Ai, chopsticks in hand.
"The honor of three Michelin stars is not as valuable as your word 'delicious'."
"Alright, let's eat first." Ai suppressed a smile, pretending not to understand the meaning behind the words, and said to Kōyū.
"Don't think that just because you say that you don't have to clean up."
"Okay." Kōyū seemed to genuinely mean it, and even gave a mock sigh.
"I didn't expect you to see through me."
"Your intentions are obvious; anyone can see through them," Ai said, getting into character.
"What a pity." Kōyū put on a dejected look after being exposed. "I thought I had succeeded."
From being "full of confidence" to being "depressed," Guangyou is like a deflated balloon.
"After we finish eating, we'll clean up the kitchen together. You can't escape it." Xiao Ai's tone was calm, but the smile she had suppressed reappeared on her lips.
"Fine, let's just clean it up." Guangyou looked at the ground like a defeated man, admitting defeat.
The next second, he looked up at Ai again, but Ai's gaze was already fixed on him.
The two locked eyes.
Then they looked at each other and smiled.
"Let's go eat," Guangyou said with a smile on his face.
"Mmm." Ai smiled and responded before leaving the kitchen with Kōyū.
The two had just sat down at the table when Dr. Agasa came out of his research lab.
"This is quite a feast!" Professor Agasa walked to the table and said to the two of them with a smile, "You two have really worked hard."
"Everyone needs to eat, it's nothing tiring," Kōyū said after Professor Agasa had taken his seat.
"Now that everyone's here, let's start eating."
Usually, it's the head of the household who says this, but at this moment, Guangyou seems to have that kind of feeling.
However, no one noticed this.
As usual, they held the chopsticks in their hands, put their palms together, said "I'm going to start eating," and then the three of them began to eat dinner.
Dinner was prepared by Guangyou. As a former Michelin three-star chef, the dishes he made were, of course, very delicious.
The atmosphere during the meal was harmonious; the three of them ate dinner while watching TV.
By the time we finished dinner, nearly half an hour had passed, and the sky outside the window had gradually darkened during that time.
Unable to help, Dr. Agasa was sent back to his lab by Kōsuke.
He then cleaned up the kitchen with Ai.
The two had a clear division of labor and were very efficient.
After cleaning up the kitchen, the two sat on the sofa in the living room to rest.
The living room TV was still running, playing a variety show.
However, Kōyū had no interest in watching TV at the moment; his gaze was entirely focused on Ai's face in his arms.
He had seen this face many times before.
But he just can't get tired of looking at it.
It was as if he could always find something interesting new on that face.
Her trembling eyelashes, those eyes that he considered like the world's finest sapphires, her perfectly shaped nose, her rosy lips...
