"It's not impossible."
Kōyū didn't immediately deny the answer. After Ai said that, he also felt that it wasn't impossible.
If this idea is confirmed, then it means that the liquid in the pot must be fake.
Guangyou was unsure, but he still reached out his hand to test the waters: "Let's give it a try."
Thinking that haunted houses wouldn't prepare such dangerous items, I felt less hesitant and acted more quickly.
As soon as he touched the bright red liquid, his expression relaxed, and he said, "It's just a basin of hot water."
The water's color was probably due to some added pigment, and the temperature I felt earlier was because there were several heating devices in the water.
That's right, those heating devices are the animals in the water. Guangyou even tried to pick them up, but he found that they were fixed at the bottom and he couldn't lift them at all.
Because of her height, Ai Haibara couldn't see what was inside the pot. Standing to the side, she asked Kousuke, "Did you find anything?"
"It's hollow underneath."
Guangyou tapped the board underwater with his finger, judged by the sound, nodded, and said, "That's right, it's hollow."
Ai continued, "Can it be opened?"
"I'm not sure, but it should be possible."
Guangyou reached out and pressed the board underneath. The board was very sturdy and showed no signs of being opened. This made him start to recall the process from when he entered the small castle until now.
Actually, the castle isn't very big, with only two floors and not many turns. There are quite a few rooms, but he didn't explore them all.
Which room he enters is entirely up to chance. If a room looks a little different or quite pleasing to the eye, Guangyou will go in and take a look.
They didn't find any particularly useful clues in each of the rooms they entered, and apart from encountering a lazy girl, they gained nothing.
To be honest, this haunted house trip wasn't as interesting as I initially imagined; so far, Guangyou hasn't encountered any scary elements.
Perhaps because he didn't enter all the rooms, many of the staff members dressed as ghosts and the mechanisms in the rooms were not used.
"A government agency?"
Thinking of this, Kōyū's mind started racing. He turned his head to look at the open wardrobe and said to Ai, "Ai, go over to that wardrobe and see if there are any switches or anything like that."
"have."
Ai walked to the wardrobe, glanced at it, nodded, and without saying anything, pressed the wooden button located in the corner of the wardrobe.
"Splash..."
Guangyou could see the water level in the pot dropping at a visible speed, and it soon reached the bottom.
Under the water was a glass panel. Through the glass panel, Guangyou could see a passage below, which made him raise an eyebrow and smile, "So that's what it means."
There was a thin slit in the middle of the glass panel, which was the main reason he was certain that the glass panel could be opened.
He pushed the glass panel again, but it didn't budge. Guangyou didn't care. Since he knew there was such a thing as a mechanism, there must be some mechanism controlling the panel.
In typical horror tropes, the werewolf from before should usually follow the trail to this point, creating a sense of urgency for the players and prompting them to either find the trap or be "killed" by the werewolf.
However, Guangyou didn't hear any noise at all, which puzzled him. While searching for the mechanism, he complained about the unprofessionalism of the werewolf actor.
His gaze fell on the "animals." There were seven "animals" of various sizes in the pot, not many, and it wouldn't take much time to try them one by one.
After touching a few of the creatures, Guangyou instantly understood the morbid humor of the haunted house and realized that even if some people discovered this place, they might not be able to get past it.
The "animals" in the pot were real, but they're dead now and have been turned into little gadgets by the haunted house.
It's simple in some ways, and difficult in others. For Guangyou, it's just touching a dead animal. He's touched dead people before, so what's there to be afraid of?
But for some girls, and even some boys, they can't stand seeing such things, let alone touching them.
Seven animals may not seem like a large number, but for those people, it's quite a challenge, not to mention whether the mechanism is actually on these animals.
Guangyou carefully touched these wet-skinned amphibian "animals," and his fingers could clearly feel every detail on these "animals," such as their scales.
When he touched the fourth one, he paused slightly and muttered to himself, "Found you."
He held a lizard in his hand. Guangyou grabbed its long tail and suddenly pulled it to the side, the tail instantly separating from the body.
There was an iron chain between the lizard's body and tail. When it was pulled, Guangyou could clearly hear the sound of the mechanism inside activating.
As soon as he let go, the lizard's tail quickly rejoined its body without leaving a trace. Then, the glass panel flipped down, revealing a space large enough for a person to climb down.
The fact that lizards can have their tails detached is a clever use of by the haunted house, and Guangyou deserves praise for that.
"Ai, come with me."
After waving to Ai, Kōyū climbed into the pot and then climbed down the ladder on the wall.
After he went down, he immediately looked around to make sure there were no monsters or demons, then looked up at Ai who was climbing the ladder.
