"Um?"
Ai, with her eyes closed, responded with a soft sound. Her eyelashes trembled even more violently, and even her breathing was somewhat affected. All of this indicated that she was not as calm as she appeared.
Warm breaths gently caressed her face, like pebbles thrown into a calm lake, stirring ripples in Ai's heart once again.
"Has this day finally come?"
"Isn't it too fast?"
"It's bound to happen sooner or later, so why should I care so much?"
"I will not regret making this decision."
"After all, I've made up my mind about him, haven't I?"
"That's fine..."
In just a moment, many thoughts flashed through Ai's mind, and as she made her decision, her heart gradually calmed down.
"Ai..."
His childish voice couldn't hide the gentleness in his words, but what he said next left Ai stunned.
"Ai, you had some crumbs of snacks on the corner of your mouth just now. I wiped them off for you. You're welcome."
These words startled Ai, who quickly opened her eyes and looked at Kousuke. Kousuke flicked his finger, and a small piece of debris flew out. Then he turned his head and asked in confusion, "What's wrong? Why the sudden expression?"
Awkward, extremely awkward!
Seeing Guangyou's actions, Ai knew she had misunderstood. Recalling her own thoughts just now, she felt both embarrassed and annoyed.
Embarrassingly, I realized I had misunderstood Guangyou's meaning, and even that I had taken the initiative.
What's infuriating is that Guangyou doesn't seem to know how to seize the opportunity; his attention is actually focused on the crumbs at the corner of her mouth.
They really can't distinguish between primary and secondary issues!
"you..."
Ai didn't know what to say anymore. After all, she was the one who misunderstood first. Should she tell Kōyū what she was thinking just now, and then complain about it?
Come on, doing that would only make the atmosphere between the two of them even more awkward.
"snort."
Xiao Ai let out a cold snort, her face instantly darkening. She walked up to Guangyou, raised her foot and stepped on his toes. After doing this, she turned around and prepared to go back to her room.
She hadn't taken more than a few steps when Guangyou grabbed her hand.
"Let go, I still need to do my research."
Her voice was cold and clear, concealing a hint of anger and shame.
As she said this, Ai shook her hand and tried to break free, but she didn't succeed.
"Don't be angry."
With a little effort, Kōyū pulled Ai back to him and said, "Why are you suddenly angry?"
You wouldn't understand even if I told you.
Seeing that she couldn't break free, Ai had no choice but to let him pull her along, but she turned her head to one side, clearly not wanting to see such a clueless "blockhead" in her field of vision.
"How could I not understand? You were just thinking..."
He'd only gotten halfway through his sentence when he saw Ai turn and glare at him, giving off a "I'll use you as a guinea pig if you dare say that" vibe. So he quickly changed his tune, explaining, "I swear, I really didn't have that thought just now, it's just that you..."
The next second, Guangyou felt a slight pain in his toes, and the words he was about to say were stuck in his throat.
"But what about me? Keep going." Ai's foot was still hovering at Kouyu's toes, and it looked like if Kouyu said something wrong, he would definitely get stepped on again.
Realizing this, Kōyū avoided the question directly, saying, "Look at me, okay?"
"how?"
Ai turned her head away reluctantly, facing Kousuke, but her gaze lingered on the wall beside her.
“I just want to save that moment for a time that is important to both of us, so that it will be more memorable, right?” Guangyou reassured him. “It doesn’t matter whether it’s sooner or later, anyway, I can’t find someone else, right?”
These words sounded familiar. After recalling them, Ai realized that she had thought of the phrase "sooner or later" when she was struggling with her thoughts earlier.
Her anger subsided considerably, but she couldn't show it on her face. Ai stared at Kyou with her icy blue eyes and said seriously, "For me, every day is an anniversary, so why can't you choose today?"
"I..."
Upon understanding the meaning behind Ai's words, Kōyū was momentarily speechless. After pausing for a while, he slowly said, "The one I'm thinking of is even more special; it will definitely only happen once in this lifetime."
"Perhaps I guessed what you were thinking."
Connecting the dots of the conversation, Ai had a vague idea. Thinking back to that scene, she probably understood why Mitsuyoshi wanted to leave that moment behind.
Guangyou neither confirmed nor denied her guess, but just smiled mysteriously and said, "Don't be angry, okay? I like you, not those things."
Am I really that unattractive?
Upon hearing Guangyou's words, Ai looked down at herself, then narrowed her eyes, her words carrying a hint of threat.
Seeing Ai's flustered expression, like a kitten with its fur standing on end, Kōyū chuckled, "How could that be?"
As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words.
To prove his words, Kōyū pulled Ai close without hesitation, lowered his head and kissed her lightly on her left cheek, then opened his arms and pulled her into his embrace.
"Do you think that's possible? If you weren't attractive, how could I possibly have the ridiculous idea of wanting to hold you until this planet naturally dies?"
Kōyū buried his nose in Ai's hair, his lips close to her ear, and whispered, "You're very attractive to me, silly girl."
