After a brief investigation, Takagi concluded that the group investigating the crime scene had nothing to find; there wasn't even a speck of dust on the floor.
The others noticed a lot, but Conan shook his head, denying Takagi's claim that the investigation was pointless.
"There are four suspicious points: the color of the quilt, sheets, pillow, and curtains; the kitchen utensils, plates, and other interior items are all based on beige, so why are only the sheets and curtains gray?"
"This must be a coincidence, right?" Takagi had no idea what this meant.
Mitsuhiko countered Takagi's statement: "But the beige sheets and curtains are all stored in the closet."
"Furthermore, the proprietress of the izakaya also said that Ms. Muranishi's favorite color is beige."
Genta, who was standing to the side, also spoke up: "Also, the landlady said that Miss Muranishi really likes the Soul Team."
"And cacti! And Mr. Higashino is very familiar with video equipment and hates taking baths the most."
“Mr. Dongtian is very difficult to wake up when he is drunk, so he is often late for work.”
Takagi glanced at his notebook. The landlady hadn't mentioned any of the information people were saying when the police questioned her.
Guangyou explained why the proprietress didn't say these things: "Because the proprietress is actually a very timid person. She was afraid that she would be scolded if she said these things that were unrelated to the case when she gave her statement to the police, so she didn't say them."
Conan pulled out a calendar from somewhere, walked to the wall, and said, "This calendar, which was removed for some reason, matches the marks on the wall perfectly."
Takagi tried to explain to the calendar, but Conan flipped through it and found that the calendar was already filled with plans up to December.
Mitsuyu also felt that Takagi's explanation was too far-fetched, but he could understand it. In order to put all the clues on the table and give the audience an equal chance to solve the mystery, anime with detectives as the main element are more interesting.
Because of this, the intelligence of many other characters often seems to have been greatly reduced.
“Another point of suspicion is that the furniture has been moved slightly,” Guangyou pointed out the third suspicious point.
Upon hearing this, Takagi's furrowed brows relaxed: "The forensic team also mentioned this. It should be a change of location, which I think is normal."
“Indeed, it’s normal for moving furniture.” Kōyū took out a box of matches from his pocket and handed it to Takagi. “But it’s a bit strange that the moving closet would forget something as important as this. Open it and take a look.”
Takagi opened it, took out one of the folded pieces of paper, unfolded it, and the contents surprised him. It was a marriage application form, but the other person's name was not written on it, although a stamp was already affixed.
This made Kōyū very suspicious of what the Japanese department in charge of marriage actually did. They stamped the documents first, and if someone found the document, signed their name, and submitted it, would they end up finding a wife?
Standing on the balcony, Ai pointed to the cactus on the ground beside her and said, "On the day of the incident, it was raining from early morning. Since she likes cacti so much, she couldn't have just left the cactus there and gone out."
Conan summarized simply: "So, there must be another person with some purpose who made her move a lot of things."
Guangyou walked to the balcony, glanced at the cacti, then walked to one of the cacti, squatted down and said, "This is the golden tiger cactus that the landlady gave to Miss Muranishi as a gift on the night of the incident. The thorns are broken off; it must have been accidentally broken during transport."
These points of doubt are indeed important, but another huge mystery in the case still remains unsolved for Takagi.
At the time of the incident, Higashida was lying in bed sleeping, and the way he looked made it seem like he was treating the room in the west of the village as his own.
Takagi's description was very vivid, and Kōyū nodded to indicate that he was right.
Takagi didn't get it and was still unclear, so Mitsuyu had to explain: "When people are drunk, their cognitive abilities decline. The changes in the color and position of the bed sheets and curtains, the removal of the calendar from the wall, and the moving of the cactus to the balcony were all to affect Mr. Higashida's cognition."
"In other words, someone deliberately changed the room's layout to make Mr. Higashino think he was in his own home."
Kōyū's words made Takagi suddenly realize: "In other words, the murderer is someone else. Someone killed Ms. Muranishi and then framed Mr. Higashida."
Guangyou clapped: "Not bad, your IQ has improved."
Following this line of reasoning, the group decided to go to Dongtian's room to confirm.
It was already very late, and Ayumi and her group couldn't resist their sleepiness and fell asleep on the corridor floor.
It's hard to see stars in the city's night sky; the city seems to have fallen asleep.
Kōyū and Ai leaned against the railing, gazing at the night sky.
Conan is focused on solving the case, while the other two also have their own ulterior motives.
"Do you believe in miracles?" Ai asked suddenly, looking at the sky.
"I believe you!"
Guangyou believes that his time travel is a miracle, and a very special one at that!
Hearing Kōyū's answer, Ai chuckled softly: "Then do you think a miracle will happen to me?"
Guangyou said without hesitation, very seriously, "It's a miracle that you met me."
Her tone was calm, but it was irrefutable. Ai opened her mouth, but said nothing.
She wanted to ask why; she longed to tell Guangyou just how dark her life had become, like the night sky where not a single star could be seen.
