Chapter 653 Thermos Cup
The next day, Chen Feng and the others got into the car and set off again.
Although they found a gold mine, their goal wasn't gold. They could rest for a few days, but there was no need.
Qi Minglin was wearing a white, semi-transparent sun-protective clothing at the moment; she really couldn't stand wearing her work jacket any longer.
Chen Feng, on the other hand, was out in the sun every day, acting as if nothing was wrong. He didn't get any darker or change at all, which made Qi Minglin extremely envious.
"Let's keep driving forward," Chen Feng gestured and said.
The driver stepped on the gas and sped across the open field. This place was indeed perfect for off-road racing, and it felt great to drive there.
Feeling that it was about time, Chen Feng patted the back of his seat, the car stopped, and the group got out.
The scorching heat instantly hit her face, forcing Qi Minglin back into the car. It was much more comfortable with the air conditioning inside.
Li Guanghao swung his hat from side to side, squatted down and began the test. Chen Feng looked him over and shook his head.
As Li Guanghao moved, a lot of data appeared on the instrument. Looking at the unremarkable data, he couldn't help but purse his lips.
"Shall we go?" he asked Chen Feng, looking up at him.
"Let's go." Chen Feng got into the car, and Li Guanghao followed.
"Why doesn't our car have a car refrigerator?" Qi Minglin turned around and asked Li Guanghao.
“When we were buying the car, didn’t you say that it didn’t need such a high configuration, so we bought the mid-range model? What mid-range model has a car refrigerator?” Li Guanghao rolled his eyes and replied.
"Smack."
Upon hearing this, Qi Minglin lightly slapped herself on the face. She was so stupid back then. What was she thinking? She didn't even want the car refrigerator. Damn it.
"Hey, if you're not strong enough and it's not satisfying to hit, I'll hit for you!" Chen Feng couldn't help but lean in and say with a hopeful look on his face.
"Get lost," Qi Minglin said without turning her head.
The car soon drove forward a short distance, and Chen Feng and Li Guanghao got out of the car.
After standing on the ground for a while, you can feel the heat coming through the soles of your shoes.
Chen Feng grabbed a handful of sand from the ground and slowly scattered it.
"Let's go, we don't seem to have found anything here," Chen Feng said as he walked back.
"Wait a moment, there's still a little bit left." Li Guanghao continued to look at the instrument.
After waiting a few more minutes, the test data came out completely. Li Guanghao shook his head as he looked at the data and then said, "Alright, let's hurry back to the car. It's scorching hot outside."
When he turned around, he immediately realized that Chen Feng was nowhere to be seen in the desert; he had already gone back to enjoy the air conditioning.
Li Guanghao: "..."
He was overthinking things; he thought Chen Feng would be waiting for him all along.
Once Li Guanghao got back into the car, the vehicle drove forward again.
The camp has electricity, so the drinks they bring in the morning are all ice-cold.
Even though the car has air conditioning, it gets hot after a few hours, and drinking lukewarm water on a hot day is simply not pleasant.
Chen Feng opened his thermos, took a sip of water, and then screwed it back on.
"No, brother, do you have kidney deficiency? Why are you drinking hot water in this hot weather?" Qi Minglin asked Chen Feng, puzzled.
"Hehe." Chen Feng ignored her and looked at the scenery outside the window.
"What a pity for such a beautiful wife..." Qi Minglin muttered to herself, assuming that Chen Feng had tacitly agreed when he ignored her.
Several people on the bus couldn't help but laugh when they heard this. Chen Feng glared at her with a dark expression but ignored her.
At noon, everyone found a shady spot to prepare for lunch.
It was the dead of day at midday, and no one wanted to get out of the car, but there was no other way; we couldn't just make instant noodles with cold water.
The driver got out of the car and set up a stove to boil water, while several people got out and tore open packaging to prepare instant noodles.
Don't leave it in the car; if you don't hold it properly and it spills inside, you'll be in big trouble.
Everyone was sweating profusely during the meal, and Li Chunlai simply took off his shirt.
Qi Minglin also took off her sun-protective clothing. Although the clothing was effective against the sun, it was incredibly stuffy. When she sweated, the clothing stuck to her body, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Damn it, I can't take it anymore, I'm going back to the car." Qi Minglin slurped down her noodles in a few bites, put them on the ground, and ran back to her car.
Normally she would definitely drink some soup, but today she didn't drink any and went back to find some shade.
After finishing their noodles, the group returned to their car, grabbed their water bottles, and started gulping them down.
"Damn it, it's so cool in the car, why is the water still so hot?" Li Chunlai said, frowning as he looked at the bottle.
"It's so hot, I've put the water bottle under my feet, it'll be a little better there," the driver said, placing the water bottle under his feet.
"Mine too, hot soda doesn't make me happy at all." Qi Minglin vowed that she would definitely buy a car with a built-in refrigerator when she had the chance in the future.
Chen Feng unscrewed the thermos, took a sip of water with a hiss, and couldn't help but shiver.
"Men with kidney deficiency suffer so much, they tremble even when they drink water." Qi Minglin finally seized the opportunity and began to attack Chen Feng fiercely.
"That's still better than you guys drinking hot water," Chen Feng said, downing the water in his cup in one gulp and leaning back comfortably in his seat.
"What do you mean? You didn't drink hot water?" Qi Minglin didn't understand for a moment.
"Idiot, I drank ice water. I put ice in the container this morning on purpose before pouring it out."
"Still laughing there? With your brain, why don't we go see a doctor? Don't you have medical insurance?" Chen Feng retorted.
"Bullshit, who puts cold water in their thermos?" Qi Minglin turned her head and looked at Chen Feng, asking incredulously.
"Here, take a look for yourself." Chen Feng unscrewed the lid, showed her the last bit of ice in the glass, and then poured it into his mouth and chewed it up.
"Do you know why I shivered? It was because I was freezing. The water was so cold it chilled my brain," Chen Feng said with a laugh.
Qi Minglin stared at Chen Feng with wide eyes, and she instantly understood what was going on.
"Holy crap, how come I never thought of doing that!"
"Chen Feng, you're the worst! Why didn't you say anything? You even drank it all yourself! You should at least have left some for me!"
Qi Minglin looked at the still-steaming cup with great frustration.
If I had known there was ice water, I wouldn't have drunk warm Coke.
"Hehe, I was just worried that you wouldn't be able to drink ice water when your period started," Chen Feng said with a grin.
"Bullshit." Qi Minglin turned her head and muttered.
"Brother, I haven't gotten my period yet, so you should leave some for me," Li Chunlai said, sweating profusely.
"I'm afraid you'll get your period after you drink it," Chen Feng said, turning his head to the side.
"Pfft..."
Qi Minglin couldn't help but lean against the car window and laugh.
Li Guanghao shook his head with a smile. Chen Feng, that's the kind of person who never suffers a loss.
After resting in the car for a while, everyone continued driving and soon arrived at a new place.
As usual, Chen Feng and Li Guanghao got out of the car, while the others waited inside.
"There really are living creatures here," Chen Feng said, noticing a lizard that had escaped.
