Chapter 109 Why didn't you say there was a pot earlier?

Upon hearing this, Zheng Ping shook his head with a wry smile.

"Stop talking. If it weren't for Fengzi, I would have almost died out here today."

Chen Feng smiled, continuing to chew his bread without saying a word.

"Huh? What happened? Did you two run into wolves?" Huang Fei immediately wiped the smile off his face and asked incredulously.

If you encounter danger while panning for gold, that's the only thing he can think of for the time being, after all, he's only been a gold miner for a few days.

"no…"

Zheng Ping recounted the whole incident to Huang Fei, who grimaced as he listened, feeling a chill run down his spine just from hearing Zheng Ping's account.

"My God, I'm not trying to be mean, but this is no way to make money. If something really happens to you, what will happen to your family?"

"Even if you don't think about yourself, you should think about your family," Huang Fei said earnestly, frowning.

"Yes, I didn't think it through before. I didn't expect the consequences to be so serious. I was just hoping for the best."

"It won't happen again next time. After all, if someone dies, everything is over. There'll be nothing you can do about it when all that's left is a pile of rubbish."

After this incident, Zheng Ping finally understood everything.

Being alive is the most important thing; once you're dead, everything is gone.

"How are you now? Do you need to go to the hospital? I'll take you there." Huang Fei asked, somewhat worried.

"No need, I just had heatstroke. I've rested for so long and I'm fine now. I've drunk several large glasses of water, and my stomach feels very full," Zheng Ping said with a smile.

"Are you sure you're alright? Why do you have a horn on your head?" Huang Fei squinted at Zheng Ping's head.

Upon hearing this, Zheng Ping subconsciously touched his head, and hissed in pain.

"This is from a fall, it has nothing to do with heatstroke, the bump will go down in a few days," Zheng Ping said, grinning as he dared not touch it anymore.

"You don't know that when Brother Zheng fell, he just landed headfirst on the ground, which was quite decisive," Chen Feng joked from the side.

"Anyway, I don't know anything. I just felt everything go black, and when I woke up, I was under the bushes." Zheng Ping shrugged.

Huang Fei laughed when he heard this. As long as everyone is alright, at least the outcome is good.

Zheng Ping took out a cigarette case and gave one to each of Huang Fei and Chen Feng. Chen Feng was still eating bread, so he tucked it behind his ear for now.

The three chatted idly, waiting for the others to come back so they could have dinner together.

The others returned one after another, and they were all surprised when they saw Huang Fei and the other two.

It's not surprising that Huang Fei is here, but what's going on between you two?

This time, without Zheng Ping's explanation, Huang Fei couldn't help but launch into a long, rambling monologue.

He looked as if he had been there at the time.

The others were stunned, their faces full of admiration, and they urged Zheng Ping not to push himself so hard, what if something really happened?

When everyone had gathered, Zheng Ping originally wanted to go out and chop firewood, but no one agreed to let him go.

Everyone was worried that something else might happen to him, so they suggested he rest well.

Zheng Ping felt helpless about this; in fact, he was fine, and there was no such thing as a serious problem.

However, unable to resist everyone's opposition, he could only sit in the exit seat of the van and watch everyone chop wood and collect stones.

"Fengzi, let me tell you, you really got a good deal treating me to this claypot rice today. You have no idea what kind of treatment I received yesterday!" Huang Fei complained angrily to Chen Feng as everyone prepared to start cooking.

"I understand you, I understand you. Don't worry, I've arranged everything perfectly for you." Chen Feng prepared to wash the rice and make claypot rice.

Zheng Ping stood to the side, his face darkening. Why bring this up again? Can't you consider the feelings of your patient?

Yin Xing rummaged through his bag, originally intending to find rice so that Chen Feng could make him a claypot rice dish as well.

As he was flipping through the pages, he suddenly came across two packets of noodles and had a flash of inspiration.

"Hey, I brought some noodles. How about we have noodles together today?" Yin Xing said to everyone.

Everyone brought some green vegetables. If we put them in, we can have a hot bowl of vegetable noodles. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

"What's the use of just bringing noodles? It's too much trouble to cook them in that aluminum lunchbox. How long will it take to cook enough for all of us?" The person next to him shook his head.

“Indeed, we don’t have a pot, so cooking is too much trouble. If it doesn’t work, let’s just have claypot rice. Let Fengzi make it, and once it’s done, we can just throw it into the fire. It’ll be cooked in no time. It’s convenient.”

Zheng Ping also felt that things weren't going well, and couldn't help but say something.

Chen Feng carried oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar, waiting for them to decide what to eat.

Actually, if you have a pot, it would be great to cook a pot of steaming hot noodles, and you can even drink some soup.

It's definitely not possible without a pot. Unlike instant noodles, dried noodles can't be cooked in a lunchbox; the lunchbox is too small, and they'll all stick together in the end.

Hearing everyone's denials, Yin Xing paused for a moment and said, "Actually... I brought a pot."

Upon hearing this, everyone turned to look at Yin Xing, their eyes filled with surprise and astonishment.

"What the heck? You brought a pot? Really? Why didn't you say so earlier!" Huang Fei slapped his forehead, utterly speechless.

If you had just said you had a pot, we would have been eating noodles already. Why did you have to go through all this trouble?

Why didn't you say you brought the pot earlier? Besides, when did you bring the pot? How come I didn't even see it?

"My bag contains the pot, and then I put all the other odds and ends inside the pot so it doesn't take up much space."

Yin Xing picked up his bag and showed it to everyone.

"Damn, why didn't you say so yesterday? If you had said so earlier, we could have all cooked rice together in this big pot, which would have saved us a lot of trouble." Zheng Ping was also somewhat speechless.

The others also looked puzzled and stared at Yin Xing.

If you had said you had a pot, who would still be eating pancakes? Isn't rice more delicious?

Faced with everyone's questions, Yin Xing awkwardly scratched his head and said, "I forgot..."

"oh…"

Everyone covered their faces, utterly at a loss for words.

"What's the point of talking about a pot? Let's just have vegetable noodles. We can have claypot rice tomorrow."

Chen Feng immediately put down the seasonings and prepared to find some stones to build another stove to cook noodles.

The fire is too big; it's fine for cooking claypot rice, but not for noodles.

Everyone sprang into action, finding some stones suitable for building a stove. After the stove was built, they placed the pot on top, leaving the space underneath for storing firewood.

The pot Yin Xing brought wasn't a frying pan, but an aluminum pot similar to a sealed container. It was quite deep, and it could easily cook a whole pack of noodles at once.

Bring some firewood and place it under the sealed container. This time, there's no need to start a fire; just pick out some embers from the fire and put them on the firewood.

This thing is much better than any kind of ignition source or lighter; just put a little bit in and it will light in no time.

One person held the pot down while another person brought a bucket and poured water into it. After filling the bucket to about half full, they put the lid on and waited for it to boil.

Everyone was excited at the thought of eating fragrant vegetable noodles soon, as they were already tired of cold, hard pancakes with scallions.
