Chapter 130: Giving him 350 is too lenient.

"Alright, I'm leaving. I'll come again tomorrow." Chen Feng finished scanning the code, waved his hand with a cigarette in hand.

"Okay," Lu Dahai replied.

Song Hui and his father were at home, discussing the money they had earned.

"I didn't expect that place to be so good. Although the travel expenses were high, it really had goods."

Song Hui stroked his chin, his eyes darting around.

"It's just that the travel expenses are a bit expensive, almost four hundred. Don't you think it's actually that expensive? It's just that the Huang family is ripping people off," Song Hui's father said, frowning as he draped his coat over his shoulders.

"Who knows? I don't know anything about cars, so I just take whatever people say." Song Hui also thought it was possible; Huang Fei didn't seem like a good person.

It used to cost 15 yuan to go to an abandoned mine; that was a real rip-off.

In Song Hui's opinion, five yuan was not a small amount.

"Damn, it's a bit pricey, but what can we do when they have that stuff? We'll just accept the 400. Next time they go out, you should go with them too," Song Hui's father suggested.

"Yeah, we definitely have to go. It's expensive, but there's nothing we can do about it. They really have the goods there."

"I wonder if these guys are afraid of others taking a share of the goods and won't let us get on the truck?" Song Hui was a little worried.

If he were Zheng Ping, next time he wouldn't bring six or seven people, he wouldn't even bring one, and would just discuss with Huang Fei that the two of them would go.

It's foolish to let others make money when you have the chance.

By then, all the gold in the entire hilly city will be mine; I'll make a fortune.

Song Hui's father scoffed at this, as if he had heard a joke.

"They won't even let you get on the bus. Go and give them money. I bet they'd be more than happy to welcome you."

"That's nearly four hundred yuan! Do you think that's a small amount? Who wouldn't want it?"

"Anyway, there's a fixed cost for gas per trip. The more the Huang family hauls, the more they earn. I bet they'd love to haul a hundred of them."

"Zheng Ping probably agrees. If someone could help them with their travel expenses, they would be overjoyed."

"When you get there, just give him the whole amount, round it down. You can't expect him to give you whatever he asks for. You're spoiling him."

Song Hui's father snorted and said, "You think you can get away with this? No way."

“Okay, I heard it’s around 370. I’ll give him 350. He’ll be secretly thrilled.” Song Hui nodded.

The fare was actually 357, but he heard it as 370. It's normal for messages to get distorted when they're being relayed.

"Then go now. His car only has so many seats. Don't let it get full by others and leave you with no room," Song Hui's father urged.

“Okay, I’ll go talk to Huang Fei now and ask him to take me along.” Song Hui took the money and went to Old Huang’s house.

"Uncle Huang, are you home? I need to talk to Dafei about something." Song Hui greeted Huang Fei as he arrived at the house and opened the door.

"He's inside, you can go now," Huang Fei's mother said upon seeing this.

"Okay."

When Song Hui entered the room, he saw Huang Fei leaning against the bed playing on his phone, with a cigarette between his fingers.

Upon seeing Song Hui arrive, Huang Fei sat up, somewhat surprised.

"Song Hui, what's up? Why are you coming over so late at night?"

Song Hui grinned and sat down on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed).

"Nothing much. I just heard you were back, so I came to see you."

Upon hearing this, Huang Fei knew what he wanted to say and couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

The news came quickly; we didn't get home until 6 p.m., but he came over before 10 p.m., probably afraid of missing us.

"How did it go this time?" Song Hui asked awkwardly.

"It's alright, it'll do," Huang Fei said, flicking his cigarette ash.

"Hey, when are you guys going next time? Can you take me with you?"

"Anyway, you can haul as many as you want in your truck. I don't have much money, so I'll just give you 350." Song Hui finally revealed his purpose.

Hearing this, Huang Fei was speechless, staring at Song Hui with one eye raised.

Dude, other people's fare is 357, but you only deducted 7 yuan from my fare?

How can you be so shameless? You think you can spend one dollar as if it were two?

Even if you really round down, you'll be the one getting rounded down by Zheng Pingfengzi and the others. How could it be your turn? Who are you? Do I know you that well?

Don't even mention 357, I wouldn't even take 360, let alone 350.

It's like I'm begging you; don't you understand the proper etiquette?

“I’m just a driver, this isn’t my responsibility. I’m only in charge of driving. You need to find Zheng Ping and the others.”

"They have to agree."

Huang Fei didn't want to offend anyone by refusing, so he simply passed the problem on to Zheng Ping.

Although he knew that even if he went to Zheng Ping, the result would be the same.

"We still need to talk to them. Can you put in a good word for me?" Song Hui suggested.

"I can't say. I'm just a driver. They're the employers. You have to talk to them."

Huang Fei shook his head, stubbed out his cigarette, and said.

To be honest, Huang Fei was just a driver, not someone who had no say as he claimed.

If Huang Fei really wanted to bring someone along, he could talk to Zheng Pingfeng and the others. Although they might not be too willing, they would still have to give Huang Fei face.

After all, he was the driver, and they had a good relationship.

However, Huang Fei would never do such a thing; why would he spout such nonsense?

"Alright then, I'll go talk to Zheng Ping and the others. You rest for now," Song Hui said, seeing the situation.

"Hmm." Huang Fei lay back down and picked up his phone again, too lazy to get up and take him.

After Song Hui left, Huang Fei couldn't help but sneer and said disdainfully, "What kind of person is he? He's really lousy."

As Song Hui left the house, he couldn't help but curse under his breath. If he had known that Huang Fei's word didn't count, he would have gone straight to Zheng Ping's house. Why did he even bother to detour to his house? What a hassle.

He quickly arrived at Zheng Ping's house, pushed open the door, and stood at the entrance calling out, "Brother Zheng, Brother Zheng?"

Zheng Ping came out of the house when he heard the noise. He was about to go to sleep when someone came.

"Song Hui, come in and sit down." Zheng Ping came out and saw him standing at the door, so he couldn't help but call out.

"Brother Zheng, I heard you had a good haul this time?" Song Hui said with a smile as he sat on the stool.

"It's alright," Zheng Ping replied vaguely, not saying much more.

"Well, you asked me last time if I was going to Qiuling City, but I had some things to take care of at home last time, so I couldn't go."

"When are you going next time? Let me know."

"If all else fails, I'll give you the fare first. But as you know, I don't have much money. I'll just give you 350." Song Hui took out the money from his pocket, indicating that the matter was settled.

Zheng Ping looked at the money in his hand and remained silent for a moment.

We all have 357, so why do you round it down?

That thing was supposed to be split equally among everyone, with no one taking advantage or losing out. It wasn't a lot of money, but that's not how it works.

How can you do this? You come up here and immediately try to lower the price. Are you saying we'll make up the seven dollars you shortchanged?

Everyone used to say that Song Hui was terrible, but Zheng Ping hadn't really noticed it yet.
