"Brother, is this gold ore?" Several people gathered around, and the blond-haired man asked curiously.
“I’ve never seen it before, but it’s definitely different from other stones. Look, there are even golden specks in some places,” Li Chunlai said, pointing to the ore.
"Bro, this thing must be worth a lot of money. How about we take a few dollars home?"
"There are so many of these things in this mine, Chen Feng definitely won't find them," someone habitually suggested, harboring thieving thoughts.
He thought Li Chunlai would definitely agree, but to his surprise, Li Chunlai's face immediately darkened when he heard this. He pointed at the person who spoke, his eyes flashing with a fierce light.
"I'm telling you, if any of you dare to have any crooked thoughts and steal even a single piece of ore to take home, I'll break your dog paws on the spot!"
"Brother Feng has been so good to us, and you still want to steal from us? Are you even human?"
"Do you really want to be thugs for the rest of your lives, and be looked down upon by everyone?"
"If you miss out on a boss like Brother Feng, you'll never meet another one like him in your life, you know that? You bunch of idiots, this is our only chance in this lifetime."
After being thoroughly scolded, the man couldn't help but scratch his head. If this person was going to change, how come he changed so quickly?
"I understand, brother. I was just saying," the man explained.
"Don't say that again. If I hear you say that again, get out of here and don't follow me anymore!" Li Chunlai threw the ore on the ground and looked at them coldly.
The man was so scolded that he dared not speak and kept his head down in silence.
Li Chun glanced at them a few times before continuing his patrol.
After wandering around for a while, Li Chunlai saw another figure ahead, wearing red clothes, short and stocky, still picking things out of the bag.
"Hey you in front, put your hands down!"
Li Chunlai walked over quickly, followed by several people.
"Who!" The woman in red turned around, clutching the plastic bag tightly, as if protecting her food.
The woman felt much more at ease when she saw that there were only a few people this time.
There were too many people yesterday, so she couldn't take the ore. Today is different. You few people think you can stop me?
"Get out of my way, all of you! I picked this up!" The old woman bared her teeth, looking like she was about to bite someone.
"Are you trying to pick up your mother's trash? You're coming to someone else's mine to pick up trash, aren't you? You shameless bastard."
"Put it down now, and don't come here again, or don't blame me for being ruthless!" Li Chunlai said fiercely.
"I'm not afraid of you? Who do you think you are? If you've got the guts, call the police. Otherwise, just kill me! Kill me, come on!" the old woman shouted, throwing a tantrum.
"Damn it." Li Chunlai wasn't afraid of this at all, and rolled up his sleeves to grab it, but the blond guy next to him said, "Hey, aren't you Mrs. Zhang? Brother, don't bother with her."
“I know her grandson goes to school in the county town, I know which school. Damn it, if you dare to take this piece of ore, I’ll go to the county town tomorrow and slap your grandson across the face.”
"If you dare take two pieces, I'll hire their classmates to beat your grandson up."
"Take it, take whatever you want, I'm not going to stop you at all."
The blond-haired man sneered and pointed at the old woman.
"You dare! You dare touch my grandson? I'll fight you to the death!" The woman was clearly hit where it hurt, and she roared.
Unfortunately, if it were someone else, she might actually have fooled them, but the blond guy wasn't buying it at all.
"You try it and see if I can do it. I just got out of prison after a month, and I haven't had enough prison food yet."
"Take it, take it!" the blond-haired man roared back, showing no sign of backing down.
Upon hearing that he had just been released from prison, the woman was so frightened that she took a few steps back. Her tantrums and sulking only worked on ordinary people.
It's completely useless against buffs.
The woman pursed her lips, struggled internally for a moment, and finally threw the ore on the ground.
"Fine, I won't take it. But don't go to the county town to cause trouble for my grandson, or I'll hang myself at your doorstep!" the old woman threatened.
"Come on, do you need me to tell you where I live?"
"I'm not afraid of you. There's a problem with my house being in a bad spot right in front of it, so I'll just use you to take up the spot." The blond guy said fearlessly, even eagerly.
If there weren't limited options here, the blond guy would have just given her a rope.
Seeing that even her trump card had no effect, the woman dared not say another word and turned to flee as if she were running away.
"Let me tell you, if I see you here again, I won't waste any more time talking to you. I'll go straight to the county town and have a good chat with your grandson!" the blond-haired man shouted from behind the old woman.
The woman trembled with fear upon hearing this. She didn't care about being beaten or scolded; the real issue was that her family had only one son for three generations, and he was their precious treasure.
If something were to happen to her grandson because of her, she truly wouldn't be able to go on living.
Watching the old woman walk away, Huang Mao and his friends burst out laughing. This is the kind of person you have to deal with. She's a scoundrel, so you have to be even more scoundrel than her. Let's see who can outmaneuver whom.
"Well done, another one solved. Let's go find the next one." Li Chunlai handed out cigarettes to everyone and led them to continue patrolling the area.
Some of the elderly people recognized him, and when they saw him arrive, they were stunned. Upon hearing that he was now a security guard, they immediately put down what they were holding and said they would never dare to come again.
Those who didn't know him were also chased away by him one by one, while he threatened them in various ways to make them dare not come back.
In the middle of the night, Li Chunlai and Huang Mao sat on the ground, smoking and yawning.
"Hey, there's no challenge at all. Bring on a few more! Some people are grumbling here, but they're not actually that sleepy. Now that no one's around, I'm even sleepier," Li Chunlai said, shrugging his neck.
"I see no one's here. Why don't you go home and get some sleep, bro? We'll stay here," said the blond-haired guy, yawning as well.
"No thanks, we've just arrived and the situation hasn't stabilized yet. There's always someone else coming."
"Once the situation stabilizes after a while, we'll be able to patrol in shifts, which will make things easier."
Li Chunlai shook his head and said, "It's just the beginning, so it's still a bit tough. I forgot to wear long johns today, and it got chilly late at night, making me shiver."
"Let's go, let's walk around a bit more, we can warm up a bit, I'll need a whole pair of fleece pants to wear tomorrow." Li Chunlai rubbed his thighs and stood up.
"Brother, I see everyone else has those military overcoats, they're so warm, do we have any?" Yellow Hair asked.
"I don't know. I'll ask Brother Feng tomorrow. If he has one, that would be great. Those things are warm and windproof. They can hold up in this weather, but they won't be enough in a while. In the middle of the night, no down jacket can keep you warm," Li Chunlai said, shivering.
