Chapter 59 Chen Feng Turns Over the Ground? Turns Over Gold!

The news of Chen Feng's air force even reached the neighboring village.

"Have you heard? That guy who used to make thousands a day went out today and didn't find anything."

"Which one? The one with the incredible luck, the one from the next village?"

"Yes, that's him."

"I told you he can't be that lucky every day, honestly, everyone has lucky moments, don't mistake one moment for a lifetime."

Liu Ming and his wife were planting seedlings at home when they learned of this news.

"Chen Feng didn't find anything yesterday, but the news has spread to our village!" Liu Ming's wife, Yao Li, said to Liu Ming with a mocking smile.

"Really? Is it Chen Feng?" Liu Ming asked, somewhat incredulous.

"How could that be fake? Besides Chen Feng, who else could make several thousand a day in the gold rush?" Yao Li rolled her eyes and said.

Yao Li was heartbroken when she heard that Chen Feng had made a lot of money, but today, hearing that Chen Feng had finally lost money, she was overjoyed.

Sometimes, your own family members are more eager to see you make a fool of yourself than outsiders.

"I told you that thing was unreliable, just pure luck, but my sister still thinks Chen Feng is having a great time making several thousand a day."

"I've been looking into what to do if you can't find anything online for a while. Chen Feng has made a lot of money this time, so he probably won't care about small amounts anymore."

"Don't be fooled by how much he earned a few days ago. This year, he probably won't earn as much as Chaoyang in the whole year."

Liu Ming snorted.

"Of course! Chaoyang said he did a good job, so the boss gave him a raise of 100 yuan. Now he can earn 2,100 yuan a month."

“Two thousand one a month, that’s quite a lot. Among all the children of our relatives, Chaoyang earns the most,” Yao Li said with a proud smile.

“That’s true, and this job is stable, unlike Chen Feng, who’s eating meat one day and starving to death the next,” Liu Ming said, pressing some seeds into the flowerpot.

"Are you going to help my older sister till the land tomorrow?" Yao Li asked.

"Yes, my older sister asked me to find a few people to help her till the land tomorrow, because she can't manage it all by herself."

“If we wait for her to slowly till the soil herself, everyone else will have already planted their crops while she’s only tilled half of it,” Liu Ming said.

“Okay, I only help out a few times a year anyway, so I’ll go. Our land needs turning tomorrow anyway,” Yao Li said, calculating.

"Yes, I've planned everything out," Li Ming nodded.

The next day, Chen Feng woke up on the kang (a heated brick bed) early in the morning. He didn't know if it was because he had been waking up early lately, but he had gotten into the habit of waking up naturally around six or seven o'clock, regardless of whether he had work to do the next day.

There's no gold rush today. Huang Fei told him yesterday that his car was already lined up all night.

Several families are hiring people to do farm work tomorrow, and he needs to drive them back to pick them up.

Moreover, it's currently spring planting season, so Zheng Ping and the others are all working at home and no one is out panning for gold.

Chen Feng could only nod helplessly. This was the downside of not having a car; even if he wanted to strike it rich, he had to see if others had the time.

He's already planning to buy a car so he can go out and make his fortune without having to ask anyone for help.

"Aren't you going gold panning today?" Liu Ping asked Chen Feng as he came out.

"I'm not going. Huang Fei's car is full. I guess he won't have time until tomorrow or the day after," Chen Feng said, stretching.

"Well, are you going to stay home and rest, or come with me to till the land?" Liu Ping asked.

"Are we turning over the soil today?" Chen Feng asked, somewhat surprised.

"Yes, I arranged it with your uncle yesterday, asking him to find a few people to come and work together."

“I thought you were going out to pan for gold today, so I didn’t tell you.” Liu Ping took out a few pairs of gloves.

“Then I’ll go with you. Staying at home is pointless anyway,” Chen Feng said.

"Okay, then find yourself a set of worn-out clothes. You'll get your nice clothes dirty while working," Liu Ping instructed.

Watching Chen Feng turn and go into the house, Liu Ping felt a sense of relief. The previous Chen Feng would never have done these chores; he would just stay at home and sleep in.

Half an hour later, Liu Ming arrived at Chen Feng's house with seven or eight people.

"Big sister, are you done cleaning up yet?" Liu Ming asked as he came in.

"I'm all done cleaning up, just waiting for you." Liu Ping stood up with her tools in hand.

Seeing Chen Feng also carrying tools, Liu Ming asked curiously, "Fengzi, are you going too? Didn't you go gold panning today?"

"I didn't go. Huang Fei didn't have time today, and he can't go without a car," Chen Feng said, carrying a pickaxe.

"Okay, it's fine to do some chores at home." Liu Ming nodded, and the group walked out.

The group walked towards Liu Ping's location. Liu Ming and Liu Ping chatted casually, mostly about everyday family matters.

"How's Fengzi doing lately? Did you make any money panning for gold?" Liu Ming asked, turning to look at Chen Feng, who was carrying a hoe.

"I went yesterday, but I didn't find anything, and I even lost money on the transportation," Chen Feng said casually.

"Oh my god, why didn't you find any? What happened?" Liu Ming asked, feigning surprise, though he already knew about Chen Feng's debt from yesterday.

"Just bad luck," Chen Feng said with a smile.

"Okay, take your time looking. Maybe you'll find it next time," Liu Ming said with a smile.

"How's Chaoyang doing now?" Liu Ping couldn't help but ask.

"Chaoyang is alright. There's not much to do at the job; it's just standing all day."

"I got another raise a few days ago, by a hundred yuan. The boss said I did a good job," Liu Ming said, unable to hide his pride.

"A raise is a good thing, it's great." Liu Ping didn't feel anything special about it. If it were before, she might have felt a little ashamed.

But now, Chen Feng earns several thousand a day, and she remains completely unfazed by the salary increase in Chaoyang District.

Seeing Liu Ping so calm, Liu Ming was somewhat surprised and also felt a little sad.

My older sister shouldn't have this expression. Chen Feng spent all his travel expenses in one day, and her son even got a raise.

Shouldn't you be looking down with some embarrassment? Why are you so calm?

I felt uncomfortable with Liu Ming's overly pretentious behavior, especially in some of the more obvious and uninspired aspects.

"Chaoyang is still hiring. If Fengzi wants to go, he can. He has a great relationship with the boss now. I heard he even had dinner with the boss a couple of days ago."

"The boss also said that if we open a branch, he'll be promoted to go there," Liu Ming said with a smile.

"Chen Feng won't go for now. Let Chaoyang do his job well and settle down in the county town to buy a house later," Liu Ping nodded and said.

Just kidding, Chen Feng earns several thousand a day now, how could he possibly become a security guard? So Liu Ping simply cut off Liu Ming's idea.

Liu Ming, who had intended to show off, felt extremely uncomfortable and awkward after hearing his older sister's words.

Why did my older sister not seem to be praising Chaoyang, but rather giving me a...instructional feeling?

Wait a minute, I used to be the one instructing her, why is she instructing me now?

How come the roles have suddenly been switched?

Liu Ming felt frustrated and decided not to bring it up again.

She probably got her confidence from the money Chen Feng made a few days ago. Once Chen Feng runs out of money, she won't be like this anymore.
