Chapter 15 Your son didn't buy it for you?

On the other side, Chen Feng had already returned home with his things. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Liu Ming sitting at the table.

"Xiaofeng's back. Why are you so late today? Didn't you say you'd be home by seven?" Liu Ping stood up and asked Chen Feng.

"I went to the county town to sell some goods together."

"Uncle's here," Chen Feng greeted.

"Well, I was free this afternoon, so I thought I'd come and see you all," Liu Ming said.

Chen Feng set up the machine against the wall, then placed two cans of food on the table and the milk in the corner.

"Are you hungry? The food is in the pot, I'll go get it for you. Why did you buy two cans of milk? Who are you sending them to?" Liu Ping asked as she served the dishes.

"Eat it yourself, who are you going to send it to?" Chen Feng took off his coat, sat down at the table, and handed Liu Ming a cigarette.

After all, he is the maternal uncle, so the proper etiquette should still be observed.

The eldest uncle took the cigarette and lit it himself with a lighter.

"Mom, just open this can of food," Chen Feng said, picking up a can and handing it to Liu Ping.

"You silly child, why did you buy this ridiculously expensive thing? You can keep it for visiting friends and relatives," Liu Ping complained.

"Why keep it? We're buying food." Ignoring Liu Ping's words, Chen Feng turned the can upside down, tapped it, and then popped it open.

Seeing this, Liu Ping glared at Chen Feng, but since the box was already open, she couldn't leave it there. So she simply found a plate and poured everything onto it.

When the food was served, Liu Ping also gave Liu Ming a set of chopsticks and a bowl.

"It's so late, have a bite," Liu Ping urged.

"I'm not hungry at all, you guys eat, the kids just got back." Liu Ming glanced at the canned peaches while smoking, then waved his hand and said.

To be honest, although he wasn't hungry, he could eat a few pieces of canned food, but he was a little embarrassed.

"How was your day? Did you find anything? I was telling your mom that if things don't go well in a couple of days, you should go work as a security guard for your brother. It's a stable job with no hard work."

Liu Ming inquired.

Chen Feng picked up a piece of stewed potatoes and green beans and then casually said, "It's alright, I made 1,700 a day."

"How much?" Liu Ming's hand trembled slightly upon hearing this, and the cigarette ash burned his hand.

He stared at Chen Feng with wide eyes, somewhat unable to believe what he was hearing.

"What? Xiaofeng, how much did you earn?" Liu Ping couldn't believe it either, her chopsticks hovering in mid-air as she looked at Chen Feng in shock.

"I was lucky, I made 1,700. Look, the money's still here." Chen Feng took out the money he had earned and put it on the table to show them.

When that stack of red bills came out, Liu Ping and the other woman were instantly stunned, speechless for a long time.

"No, is this really what you earned today?" Liu Ping originally thought that if Chen Feng could earn forty or fifty yuan a day, that would be quite good.

But to her utter surprise, Chen Feng gave her a pleasant surprise on the very first day, bringing back 1,700 yuan!

Is this real? It feels so dreamlike to her.

"Of course it's real, otherwise I wouldn't have found it," Chen Feng said with a smile.

"Huang Fei and the others are watching. We went to sell it together. I believe that after a few more trips, I will be able to pay you back for the machine."

Upon hearing this, Liu Ping gasped, and it took her a while to accept the fact. She said with relief, "What do you mean, 'pay back'? I gave it to you without expecting you to pay it back. As long as you work hard and have a promising future, that's all that matters."

She felt a mix of emotions, wanting to both cry and laugh. Who dared to say her son was a good-for-nothing this time?

My son is better than anyone else!

Liu Ming only noticed when the cigarette was almost burning his hand. He quickly took a few puffs, threw it on the ground, and stomped it out. Turning back, he still spoke in a surprised tone.

"No, you've really struck gold?"

"Yes, I found some. There's quite a bit of silver in it. Otherwise, how could it have sold for so much money?" Chen Feng looked up and smiled.

"Okay, okay, okay, as long as I can make money." Liu Ming said "okay" three times in a row, pursed his lips and muttered.

"Now that you've made money, work hard this time. Don't work sporadically this time."

"You're all grown up now, it's time you became more mindful," Liu Ming said earnestly.

"Don't worry, it won't happen this time. We made some money, so I'm buying two cans of food to celebrate, and I'll also buy my mom a case of milk."

“Otherwise, if you expect her to buy it herself, she might not be able to buy it even in her next life,” Chen Feng said with a smile, nodding.

He then put a piece of canned food into Liu Ming's bowl and said, "Eat up, Uncle, share in the good fortune."

Upon hearing Chen Feng's words, Liu Ping couldn't help but complain, "Why buy such expensive milk? In the future, spend less of this useless money and save more to get married and build a house. I'm already so old, drinking anything is a waste."

That's what she said, but the smile in Liu Ping's eyes betrayed her.

She was genuinely happy; her son had become successful and knew how to buy her things.

This is the first time in history.

Liu Ming nodded upon hearing this, picked up the canned yellow peaches with his chopsticks and began to eat, his expression somewhat silent, lacking his previous pride.

His son earns two thousand yuan a month, but he never mentions buying him a couple of cans of food or a carton of milk.

The amount of money isn't important; what matters is that Xiaofeng has the heart to do it. He knows that the first thing he does after earning money is to buy some food for his mother.

Look at Xiaofeng, and then look at my own son, sigh.

"Okay, you guys take your time eating. I'll head back now. Xiaofeng must be tired after a long day, go to bed early," Liu Ming said, standing up after finishing the canned peach.

"Stay a little longer, Uncle," Chen Feng said, standing up.

"I'm not staying any longer. You guys go ahead and eat. No need to see me off," Liu Ming said, quickly pressing his hand down to stop them.

"Xiaoming, take two bags of milk back for your wife to drink." Liu Ping stood up, opened the milk carton, took out two bags, and handed them to Liu Ming.

"No, sister, she doesn't like it either. We have more at home." Liu Ming felt embarrassed to take the two bags of milk and kept declining.

“The milk at home was bought by Chaoyang. Is there any left? If not, why don’t you take two bags home and drink them?” Chen Feng also suggested.

“He bought them, and there are still quite a few left. You can keep them, I really don’t want them, sister.” Liu Ming said as he pushed the cart away and walked out.

"Hmm, Chaoyang is fine too. I'd also like to buy you a carton of milk," Chen Feng praised.

"Yes, he's alright," Liu Ming said, but he sounded a little unsure.

But what else could he say? Could he say that Chaoyang had never bought anything for the family since he started working?

That would be exposing my own shortcomings, and I would lose even more face if I said that.

"I'm leaving, you guys eat quickly." Liu Ming said this as he left the door, turning back to look at the door before walking out.

"Okay, then come and stroll around whenever you have time," Liu Ping said.

"Okay," Liu Ming replied.

After Liu Ping and the other woman watched him leave, they went inside to continue their meal.
