Chapter 547 Two at Once

Watching Chen Feng's dashing departure, Li Chunlai said with admiration, "He's so pretentious. When will I be able to be as dashing as Brother Feng?"

"How can you tell this thing apart with the naked eye? It doesn't make sense," Huang Fei said, completely baffled.

"There's nothing I can do, Brother Feng has never been reasonable." Lin Nian lowered his head and packed his things.

"Damn, he must have been an electronic radar in his past life, the kind with scanning and weighing capabilities," Huang Fei said as he carried the detector outside.

Chen Jianguo climbed onto the excavator, shook his head with a look of deep emotion, and followed Chen Feng's steps.

Chen Feng walked ahead, constantly looking back and forth, until finally his gaze settled on one spot.

After walking about several dozen meters, Chen Feng stood on top of the object.

This is a small pit, not very deep, but you can see traces of it being dug before.

He squatted down and reached out to touch the hole in the ground.

"What a pity. If you had dug a few more meters, you might have struck gold," Chen Feng said with a hint of regret for the gold prospector.

"Fengzi, what do you mean? It's right here!" Huang Fei shouted from behind.

"This looks good to me, let's give it a try." Chen Feng said, stepping aside. Chen Jianguo drove his excavator over, and with one scoop, he dug out a full bucket of soil.

Chen Feng looked up at the excavator that was working, then moved a little further away and stood on a rock.

As the machine roared on, the pit grew larger and larger. With another scoop, Chen Jianguo dug out some rotten wood.

The others didn't react much, since finding wood in the ground wasn't unusual. But when Chen Jianguo saw the rotten wood, he frowned and jumped off the excavator.

"What's wrong?" Huang Fei asked as he smoked a cigarette.

"Let me see." Chen Jianguo stood at the edge of the pit and looked down. Chen Feng saw this and came over as well.

"What's going on? What did you dig up?" Chen Feng asked.

“These pieces of wood were used to support the mine shaft a long time ago. The ground below collapsed, so I dug the wood out. There was no reaction below,” Chen Jianguo said carefully.

"Is it okay to keep digging?" Chen Feng asked.

"It's alright, it's all collapsed now, it won't collapse a second time. I was just worried that it might not have collapsed completely, so I came down to check," Chen Jianguo confirmed.

"Okay, as long as there's no danger." Chen Feng nodded.

"You guys go back, I'll continue digging," Chen Jianguo instructed, before climbing back onto the excavator.

The crowd stepped back, and Chen Jianguo continued digging with his shovel. With another shovelful, he unearthed a considerable amount of wood.

Chen Jianguo was now even more relieved, as the area below had long been rotten and collapsed, posing virtually no danger.

As they dug deeper, almost all the wood was eventually removed.

When Chen Jianguo tried to lower the bucket again, he sensed something was wrong; the bucket simply wouldn't go down.

He tried several more times, but it still didn't work, so he jumped down again.

As soon as he got to the edge of the pit, he noticed that the yellow soil at the bottom had very obvious light-colored marks.

"Damn it," Chen Jianguo said, taking a deep breath.

"What's going on? Did you run into something again?" Li Chunlai and a few others came over and asked.

"What is this light-colored thing? Could it be…?" Chen Feng frowned as he looked into the pit.

"Granite, should we continue drilling?" Chen Jianguo asked.

"Can you tell how thick it is from this?" Chen Feng asked.

"I can't tell, but it doesn't feel very thin. The excavator couldn't break it even after several attempts, so it looks like it will take some effort to continue," Chen Jianguo said.

“Granite, what should we do? This thing seems pretty hard, right? How about we go down and try digging it out?” Li Chunlai said, carrying his tools.

"Let's dig a few times first and see what happens. If that doesn't work, we'll think of something else." Huang Fei said as he jumped in, with Li Chunlai following closely behind.

He moved quickly, smashing down with a pickaxe, sending granite flying. It was estimated that a small crater several centimeters in diameter would be carved out.

"Are we just digging like this?" Li Chunlai asked Chen Feng, looking up at him.

He always felt that this method wasn't very efficient.

"Let's dig a few times first," Chen Feng said, wanting to observe the situation further.

"Okay." Having received Chen Feng's approval, Li Chunlai didn't hesitate and started digging right away.

"clang…"

"clang…"

Granite fragments flew everywhere, sometimes hitting Huang Fei directly in the face, forcing him to turn his head away from time to time. Occasionally, if he hit the mark right, his pickaxe could smash off a large chunk.

They kept smashing it for about ten minutes. Huang Fei and Li Chunlai's hands were numb from the impact. The granite was chipped out to a depth of half a meter, but it was just a pit. The middle was the deepest part, and it got shallower towards the edge.

"No, this thing is too hard. Let's use an impact drill instead," Chen Feng said directly.

"Is that impact drill we bought okay, the one for underwater?" Huang Fei asked uncertainly.

"I don't think that will work. Riverbeds and granite aren't the same hardness. I'd better go buy two."

"Wait here, I'll go buy it." Chen Feng told them to rest first, and went to get the power back on while he drove off to buy an impact drill.

Huang Fei and the others climbed out and sat on the edge of the pit, rubbing their hands together. They were indeed shaken because they weren't wearing gloves.

Chen Feng drove the car towards the city.

I have to say, this off-road vehicle is still the best choice; it's unbeatable in this kind of terrain.

If it were a sedan, the undercarriage would be scraped to pieces on this shabby road. My dad was right to have foresight.

He drove to the tool shop in the city, and the owner immediately stood up when he saw him and said, "Hey bro, what are you buying this time?"

"A large impact drill, any land-based one will do."

"I don't want the one from the river anymore, is that one any good?" The boss even called back as a customer.

"It works quite well, it's alright." Chen Feng nodded.

"See? I wasn't kidding you. I told you that thing is really good." The boss smiled with satisfaction and went to find him a large impact drill.

This thing is very common; he has plenty of it.

"Will this work? It's specifically for difficult and complicated cases," the boss asked, holding the drill.

"Anything that can break rocks is fine. Give me another one, I want two," Chen Feng said.

"Don't worry, I'll crush even steel bars to dust, let alone stones. I'll go get you another handful." The boss said, bringing him another handful.

Chen Feng paid the bill and headed back with the two drills.

Although the location was on the outskirts of the city, it was still quite a distance, taking about an hour and a half to go there and back.

Chen Feng watched the sun gradually set and felt that this was the only job he would have to do today, and by the time he finished, it would be almost dark.

While Chen Feng was on the road, the others didn't sit idle either; they plugged in the power and waited for Chen Feng to return.

Chen Feng quickly returned, and as soon as he got out of the car, he opened the trunk and took the drill out.

"Is the power connected?"

"It's all done, don't worry."

"No problem, then let's do it, both at once!"
