Chapter 292 Is it too late to regret it now?

This set of movements was executed flawlessly and with incredible grace.

By the time Wang Lei squatted down and started digging the hole, he had already reached the location of the next piece of goods.

The sound of Chen Feng's detector was like a death knell; every time it beeped, Wang Lei's heart trembled, and his hands became clumsy from the anxiety.

Before Chen Feng, he never imagined that someone could be so incredibly fast at finding bargains; it was terrifying.

Wang Lei even had the illusion that this kid wasn't panning for gold at all, but rather picking up scraps.

The thing was practically right there on the ground; there was no need to search for it, just reach out and pick it up.

That's exactly how Wang Lei felt.

With a whoosh, Chen Feng gripped the shovel with both hands and dug at incredible speed, the shovelfuls of soil flying out so fast that they even connected from one end to the other.

While this speed was certainly fast, it was also tiring, but Chen Feng couldn't care less about that now.

The pit was quite deep, so Chen Feng spent a bit more time on it. By the time he finished digging and started using a small shovel to remove the soil, Wang Lei hadn't even finished digging a third of the pit.

"Ooh-woo~"

Upon hearing the sound, Chen Feng lightly shook his shovel. He realized that the fastest way to find goods was not to rummage through them with his hands, but to shake them directly onto the ground. This made it easier to observe and pick them up quickly.

Chen Feng's eyes were locked on the tiny gold nugget as it fell from the shovel into the ground.

Chen Feng reached into the dirt and pinched the small gold nugget twice, then tossed it into his bag and jogged away with his tools.

He only slows down his movements when throwing the goods into the bag, just to make sure he's put them inside and not outside.

If it were left outside, things would get really messy. Chen Feng would be frantically searching for it in front, and Wang Lei would be frantically picking it up behind, making it all his advantage.

As the detector beeped again, Chen Feng squatted down, picked up a shovel, and began digging a hole.

If it weren't for the absurdity of not using a detector to check first, Chen Feng would have skipped this step altogether.

This step was clearly meant to be a show for Wang Lei.

Wang Lei tried his best to calm himself down and not pay attention to how much stock Chen Feng had sold, as this would only affect his mindset.

However, how could he not pay attention? The sound of the metal detector was so piercing that it was impossible not to hear it!

The pit in front of Chen Feng was quickly dug again. He used a small shovel to find the goods in a few strokes, and this time he shook a small gold piece onto the ground.

He reached out and picked up the gold piece, not even bothering to shake off the dirt on it, and threw it, gold and dirt alike, into his bag.

We'll deal with it later; speed is the most important thing right now.

"Ooh-woo~"

Chen Feng went to the next location for the goods, but Wang Lei's goods hadn't been found yet.

The more anxious he was, the more trouble he caused. Because he was moving too fast, even though he clearly heard the detector respond, Wang Lei still carelessly threw the shovel of soil onto the ground.

"Grass!"

Wang Lei belatedly threw down his shovel, cursed under his breath, and hurriedly bent down to search for the goods in the pile of dirt.

He rummaged around in the water a few times but still couldn't find the goods. He was both angry and anxious, and instinctively wanted to rummage around a few more times, but he knew that wouldn't work.

If we find it, that's fine; if we don't, this will only push the goods further and further away.

He picked up a small shovel and shoveled up the detector layer by layer. Fortunately, his luck wasn't too bad, and the goods were on top.

He scooped up the goods in four or five shovelfuls, shook the shovel lightly, and then shoveled the soil again.

At this moment, the arrogance that had always been in his eyes had been completely shattered by Chen Feng. He no longer had any haughtiness or pride; all that remained was anxiety and frustration.

This group of people are clearly a bunch of self-taught amateurs whom I look down on. I am a famous geologist, and my academic credentials alone are enough to crush them.

But why is it that I can't outmaneuver this person at all?

Why should this happen?!

Chen Feng shipped each item at the same speed, which completely shattered any remaining hope he had.

He wasn't just lucky, he was just ridiculously fast!

As Chen Feng walked further and further away, Wang Lei felt a pang of regret for the first time. He shouldn't have agreed to that condition in the first place!

He should have split the book with him, no wonder he suggested they each use the book; he wasn't concerned about fairness at all!

The only reason he would bring up this point is because he is incredibly confident that no one can match him in terms of speed.

I was actually quite pleased with myself at the time, thinking that this was a slap on the back of my hand. I was so stupid! Who would propose a condition that was detrimental to me?

"Hey, bro, stop messing around. Can we reconsider? This time I'll draw a line so you can choose first, okay?" Wang Lei shouted, regretting his decision.

"What?! I can't hear you because you're too far away!"

How could Chen Feng possibly discuss it with him again? Only an idiot would do that.

Not only will he not agree, he will also provoke him further, making him even more panicked.

Sure enough, as soon as those words were spoken, Wang Lei felt as if he had been stabbed in the heart again.

Damn it, you bought all my stuff!

He was heartbroken. Why did he have to run into a ruthless person like Chen Feng in such a remote place?

Could this be what they mean by hidden masters among ordinary people? I've really been taught a lesson this time, and it's truly opened my eyes.

Seeing that Chen Feng had no intention of discussing things with him, Wang Lei could only speed up his work to minimize the losses and prevent Chen Feng from taking too much of his goods.

Chen Feng shook the shovel and saw a gold nugget fall to the ground, probably worth several thousand yuan.

Seeing this, Chen Feng couldn't help but exclaim "Whoosh!" He threw the gold nugget into his bag and continued on his way.

Upon hearing Chen Feng's voice, Wang Lei knew that he must have lost a lot of goods. His expression was one of extreme pain, as those goods should have been his!

Little did he know, Chen Feng was also extremely upset. These should all have been his goods. He was just protecting his mining area. What had he done wrong?

Whenever Chen Feng thought about how if he was even slightly slower, a piece of the goods would fall into someone else's hands, he would get extremely angry, and even the soreness in his arms seemed to lessen considerably.

He was bursting with boundless energy. What did it matter if he hadn't eaten lunch? He wasn't hungry at all!

When he reached the next piece of goods, Chen Feng was still as fast as ever, quickly digging the hole and then immediately throwing down the big shovel and switching to a small one.

He quickly shook the item onto the ground; it was a silver nugget.

Chen Feng picked up the silver coins and threw them into his bag before heading towards the next shipment.

Wang Lei toiled through the dirt, glancing anxiously at Chen Feng every now and then. He felt that things couldn't go on like this, and he needed to change his approach.

If this continues, Chen Feng will dredge up all the goods in the riverbed!
