Chapter 9 Double Yolk!

Most of the people sat on the ground and started smoking, while only a few who hadn't finished eating continued to eat.

Some of the older folks smoked dry tobacco, the kind they rolled themselves with paper.

This way, they can save some money. After all, even the cheapest pack of cigarettes costs several yuan, and their smoking habit is strong, so it adds up to quite a bit each month.

After about 10 or 8 minutes, everyone was basically done and had rested enough, so they all stood up and prepared to continue working.

After all, we paid money to come here, and there are also travel expenses to cover. It feels inappropriate to rest for even a minute longer.

Chen Feng put on his headset, picked up the detector, found a direction that looked good, and walked forward. He circled around several times before the system's notification sound finally rang.

"Give me a gold medal, give me a gold medal..."

Chen Feng marked the area on the ground while muttering to himself.

After marking the area, Chen Feng began scanning the detector back and forth until he reached the middle, at which point the detector beeped.

"Ooh-woo~"

Chen Feng placed the detector beside him, squatted down, took out his small shovel, scooped up a shovelful of soil, and ran it over the detector.

"Ooh-woo~"

Seeing this, Chen Feng couldn't help but smile. "Look at my skills, I've already sold the goods on the first try."

He shook it slightly, then passed it through the detector again, shaking it several times in a row. There was only half a shovel of soil left in the shovel, and Chen Feng began to rummage through it.

As soon as Chen Feng leveled the sand in the shovel, he saw a rather large silver grain.

"Holy crap, this looks even bigger than Brother Zheng's, it must weigh over ten grams!"

Chen Feng wiped his hands, looked at himself in the sunlight, and his face beamed with joy.

This single silver nugget is worth at least seventy or eighty yuan.

Chen Feng smiled and took out a small bottle, threw the silver granules into it, and looked at the pile of small silver granules in the bottle, feeling extremely satisfied.

"Isn't this ridiculous? You only get two hundred yuan in total, hehe."

Chen Feng stuffed the bottle into his pocket, casually tossed the dirt from his shovel over the detector, and prepared to stand up and look for the next spot.

The detector went off as soon as the shovel passed by.

"Ooh-woo~"

Chen Feng had already scattered the soil by then. He belatedly looked at the detector, his eyes wide with shock. Then he looked at the empty shovel in his hand, his mouth agape in disbelief.

"Holy crap, a double-yolk egg?!"

Chen Feng was still kneeling when he saw this, so he quickly lay down on the ground and carefully searched for the shovelful of soil that he had just thrown away.

Fortunately, after some casual chatter, Chen Feng spotted the grayish-white silver particle on the ground.

He grinned and picked up the silver nuggets.

This silver nugget isn't as big as the previous one, but it's not small either, and it looks like it's worth thirty or forty yuan.

"Holy crap, I've never heard of such a thing before. You can find double-yolk eggs while panning for gold? Haha."

Chen Feng himself felt a bit like he was in a dream. He took out a small bottle and threw the silver granules into it.

Chen Feng had never heard of anyone shoveling two items at once. If this got back to the village, they'd probably be talking about it for half a year.

I had only packed my things and taken a few steps when the system notification sounded again.

"Wow, this place is great!"

Chen Feng's smile had barely faded when it instantly reappeared.

Looking around, he found that his companions were all far away, scattered and probing back and forth. Two of them had probably found something and were digging at the ground.

"We need to hurry and dig before they come."

Chen Feng quickened his pace and, in less than fifteen minutes, he had extracted two more silver coins worth about thirty yuan each.

After putting the silver granules into the small bottle, Chen Feng stood up. His legs were a little numb from squatting for so long.

To be honest, he doesn't know why, but he feels like he's picking up money off the ground.

Squatting down gives you twenty points, squatting down gives you thirty points... This feeling is so damn awesome.

No wonder gold miners, even with an average income of a few hundred dollars, were unwilling to do anything else.

This thing is like a free scratch-off lottery ticket, it's really addictive.

It's a pity that he hasn't made a fortune yet.

If this happens to drop a gold item, that would be incredibly awesome.

Chen Feng walked around the area several times, and after finding that the area had been completely dug up, he left with a regretful expression and continued walking forward.

"Ooh-woo~"

"Another tiny silver grain."

"Ooh-woo~"

"This one is even smaller than the previous one."

"Ooh-woo~"

"This one is alright, it should sell for over thirty."

It wasn't until after 4 p.m. that Chen Feng stopped, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and sat down on the ground.

He took out a bottle of mineral water from his bag, downed more than half of it in one gulp, took a breath, and looked around.

They were still playing Minesweeper while wearing headsets, some of them already quite far away.

Chen Feng took out the small bottle and looked at it. He had lost count of how many silver coins he had found; the bottle was more than half full.

"Why isn't there any gold? Damn it, is there no gold in this place?" Chen Feng muttered to himself, utterly puzzled.

Logically speaking, you've already collected so many silver coins, it's time for gold to appear. Even if you're going to do a lottery, you should at least have a guaranteed minimum.

No wonder I've never heard of any gold panners in the village finding gold.

Don't even mention them, even they can't find it with their own system, let alone the fact that they're just searching blindly like headless flies.

Chen Feng stood up and, unwilling to give up, continued working.

He simply refused to believe that he wouldn't find gold, but rather silver.

As the time drew to a close, it was 5:40 PM. Everyone began to search in the direction they had come from, gathering together as they went.

Chen Feng wasn't paying attention at all and continued walking back and forth.

"Fengzi, it's time to turn back, it's time!" Zheng Ping shouted to Chen Feng in the distance.

Chen Feng, wearing headphones, didn't hear him at all and was still looking down at the gold.

"Fengzi, Fengzi!" Zheng Ping took a few steps toward Chen Feng and continued to shout.

Chen Feng vaguely heard someone calling him, so he turned around and saw Zheng Ping waving at him. He then took off his headset.

When Zheng Ping noticed that Chen Feng had noticed him, he pointed to his wrist. Chen Feng immediately understood what he meant and looked at his phone.

"It's already past 5:40? Time really flies," Chen Feng said, looking at his phone in surprise.

Chen Feng looked up, gave Zheng Ping an OK sign, and started walking back. Zheng Ping nodded, knowing that he understood what Chen Feng meant.

As he walked back, Chen Feng calculated his gains.

I bought quite a bit of silver today, almost a small bottle, probably worth around three or four hundred.

To be honest, this income is quite good for the current standard of living.

If you could earn this income every day, that would mean a monthly income of over 10,000 yuan.

With the average monthly salary now at 1,200 yuan, what does earning over 10,000 yuan a month mean? It's equivalent to a monthly salary of 60,000 to 70,000 yuan in my previous life.

Although Chen Feng was fairly satisfied with the income, he was still quite disappointed.
