Chapter 232 The Undying

After a few shovelfuls, Chen Feng unearthed the goods. He shook off the dirt and began searching with his hands.

After a few quick movements, Chen Feng felt himself bump into a small piece. He reached out and picked it up, letting out a soft sigh.

It's silver again, and this time it's not even a hundred or so; it looks like it's only around sixty or seventy.

Looking up at the sky, Chen Feng realized he was also feeling incredibly hot. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and leaned against a tree.

I lit a cigarette and prepared to take a break. Anyway, it was almost eleven o'clock, so I decided to eat first.

And so, Chen Feng leaned against the big tree, a cigarette dangling from his lips, took out a piece of bread and a sausage, and unscrewed a bottle of cola.

Chen Feng grimaced as he took a sip of piping hot cola. This stuff tastes awful when it's not cold.

It tastes a little better than water, since it's sweet, but it's far from being able to make people happy.

After Chen Feng finished eating, he leaned against a big tree and surprisingly felt sleepy again.

Could it be that my body remembered me because I slept with it once yesterday?

"How wonderful it would be to take a nap under this tree," Chen Feng thought with his eyes slightly narrowed.

Thinking of this, Chen Feng quickly stood up before he was completely sleepy.

Even though today's harvest was pretty good, I can't just go to sleep like this.

Chen Feng felt it was really unreasonable to sleep until the afternoon.

Shaking his head vigorously, Chen Feng picked up the detector and walked forward, deciding to sleep later.

At 5:30 p.m., Zheng Ping and his group returned to their camp one after another at the other side of the mine.

As soon as I got back, I saw that Lin Nian had already set up the campfire and was chopping wood nearby.

Seeing this, they forgot all about being tired and quickly took the axe from Lin Nian's hand to chop firewood themselves.

It's a bit unreasonable to ask someone to chop wood after they've already laid out the stones.

"You go and rest, I'll chop it up." Zheng Ping took the axe and urged Lin Nian repeatedly.

"It's okay, Brother Zheng, I'm not tired. Besides, I set up the circle with Brother Fei." Lin Nian smiled sheepishly and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"You can't be lazy, how can I let you do it all by yourself? Go and rest, go find Huang Fei." Zheng Ping pushed him back to urge him on.

Unable to resist Zheng Ping and the others, Lin Nian returned to the van and stayed with Huang Fei.

"What are you planning to eat tonight?" Huang Fei asked Lin Nian.

"I don't know, just a pancake with some ham sausage will do," Lin Nian said after thinking for a moment.

"Come on, I've already eaten all the pancakes and bread I've ever had in my life. How about... we have claypot rice for dinner?" Huang Fei suddenly sat up and suggested.

"Claypot rice?" Lin Nian looked up at Huang Fei curiously, not expecting him to know how to make this.

He had only heard that this thing existed in the city, but had never eaten it before.

Occasionally, I'll go to the city and have a bowl of spicy hot pot to satisfy my craving.

He really wanted to try claypot rice.

"Hey, I learned how to make claypot rice from your brother. He taught me personally, and it's amazing. I'll make it for you guys tonight."

Huang Fei was now really interested and said with a look of excitement.

He watched Chen Feng do it, so it couldn't be wrong.

"Okay, let's make claypot rice then. What do we need to prepare?" Lin Nian asked, scratching his head.

"You don't need anything, just rinse the rice and prepare a sausage," Huang Fei said confidently.

"Okay, sure." Lin Nian nodded.

After a while, the campfire was lit, and Huang Fei suggested making claypot rice for everyone.

Since everyone didn't have much to eat that night, they naturally agreed.

Yin Xing looked at Huang Fei with a skeptical gaze: "Brother, do you know how?"

"Of course I can. I watched Fengzi do it with my own eyes, and I learned it perfectly," Huang Fei said confidently.

"Why don't we call Fengzi first and ask him what he puts in?" Zheng Ping was genuinely skeptical of Huang Fei's cooking skills, mainly because the guy didn't usually cook.

"Hey, stop fighting, you're here already, hurry up and wash the rice." Huang Fei turned around, went to the car to get the seasonings, and urged them to wash the rice.

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at each other in bewilderment, but ultimately chose to believe Huang Fei. What could they do when Chen Feng wasn't around? They had no choice but to trust him.

Soon everyone finished washing the rice and vegetables, and each person held their lunchbox, waiting for Huang Fei to feed them.

"What is this... Oh, oyster sauce. What is this stuff for... And what is chicken bouillon? I don't see any chicken bouillon in my house, only MSG. Are they the same?"

Huang Fei looked at the spice jars and muttered to himself.

These words sent chills down everyone's spines.

“Dafei, the prerequisite for cooking… is to know how to use seasonings, right…” Yin Xing’s face twitched as he listened.

“How could I not recognize it? It’s written here, Xigu Soy Sauce. I know it, I’ve made it at home before,” Huang Fei said, pointing to the large characters on the soy sauce bottle.

"What I mean is, you need to know what it's for, right..." Yin Xing swallowed hard and spoke quietly.

"I know, don't doubt me. I saw Fengzi put a little bit of each ingredient in. Hurry up and pick up the lunchbox." Huang Fei carried the seasonings to Yin Xing.

"Brother, can you pour some for them first? Let me see first," Yin Xing said weakly, clearly unsure of what to do.

"Stop talking nonsense and hurry up," Huang Fei urged. Why didn't anyone believe in his abilities?

Yin Xing had no choice but to hold his lunchbox and wait for Huang Fei to show off his cooking skills.

As each bottle of seasoning was poured in, Yin Xing's lips trembled. He remembered that when Fengzi made it, there weren't so many seasonings.

"Wait a minute, this stuff has sesame oil in it? I don't remember having that!" Yin Xing asked, his eyes wide as Huang Fei picked up the sesame oil bottle.

"Why wouldn't you let go? You don't know anything. I bet Fengzi collapsed back then."

Huang Fei poured some sesame oil directly into his lunchbox, and he couldn't stop him even if he tried.

"I..." Yin Xing wanted to say something, but in the end he didn't say anything and let out a long sigh.

Huang Fei quickly poured all the seasonings for everyone with great confidence. He suddenly felt that cooking wasn't so difficult after all; it was just a matter of putting a little bit of everything in.

It's incredibly easy.

The group placed the food on the fire, watching the flames with trepidation, wondering what the meal would eventually turn into.

Amidst everyone's anxious hearts, the aroma of the lunchboxes gradually began to waft out.

But this smell made everyone frown even more.

"No, is this the right taste? It doesn't taste the same as what I've had before." Someone looked at the others with a puzzled expression, starting to doubt their own nose.

"It would be a miracle if it were the same; this couldn't have been done by one person alone," someone said, looking at him like he was an idiot.

"Don't worry, it won't kill you," Huang Fei reassured everyone, seeing that they didn't believe him.

Although he had never cooked properly, he had watched videos from food bloggers, so he knew pretty much what to expect.
