Chapter 530 The Harvest is About to Burst

“I think it’s a waste. It can still be eaten after being heated up. Can we take leftovers like this home to eat?”

Xia Yingying thought for a moment and nodded: "Leftovers can be packed up and taken home, but new ones can't."

"Okay, okay, we definitely won't pack up any new ones. They're all leftovers, and it would be a shame to throw them away. They're all perfectly fine." The woman smiled and nodded repeatedly, then went back to tidying up the table.

Let's go.

With the matter resolved, Xia Yingying and the others prepared to return home.

When the workers saw Xia Yingying leave, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

For some reason, they had an innate fear of Xia Yingying; with her around, they didn't even dare to breathe loudly.

"What's going on? I see someone is missing in the cafeteria. What happened?"

"That Aunt Wang got fired and fined a thousand yuan. Huang Mao chased her home and brought back all the meat. Her entire salary for this month was deducted."

"Wow, that's ruthless?"

"You think the landlady is easy to deal with? She'll break your nails if you dare steal even a little bit, and she'll chase you to your house and pry it out. You think you can just take it home and be fine? You're naive."

"That's really not polite. Even someone as domineering as Aunt Wang has been subdued by her, and she can even be fined. Aunt Wang's money is like her lifeline. Over the years, no one has ever been able to get money out of her."

"Tsk tsk tsk, that's scary."

That evening, while Chen Feng was having dinner, Xia Yingying called him on video.

"What are you doing? Did you just eat?" Xia Yingying said, her hair casually tied back.

"Yeah, it's just finished. Have you eaten yet?" Chen Feng asked, holding chopsticks in his left hand and his phone in his right.

"I'm done eating. I just finished. I fired one of the cafeteria ladies today," Xia Yingying said, taking a sip of water from her straw cup.

"The old lady opened it, what's wrong? Is she stealing vegetables?" Chen Feng laughed.

"How do you know? She not only steals vegetables, but also ribs," Xia Yingying said with a laugh.

After all, it's easy to guess. What else could they be fired from the cafeteria? It's either stealing vegetables or submitting false accounts.

"Okay, let's open it. There are plenty of aunties who can cook," Chen Feng agreed.

"Now I hear that the people in the mine are afraid of me. They think that if I go there, someone will suffer. Nobody wants me to go."

Xia Yingying couldn't hold back her emotions when she talked about it.

"Haha, that's great, it just so happens I can't go back for a while." Chen Feng put down his chopsticks and lit a cigarette.

"Sigh, how come all the bad guys are mine, and all the good guys are yours? I heard that some people at the mine even miss the days when you were here, making it seem like I pushed you out," Xia Yingying sighed.

"Miss me? Why are you acting like I'm dead?" Chen Feng chuckled.

"Who knows how much longer it will take on your end?" Xia Yingying asked.

Chen Feng didn't say anything, but turned the video around to show her the huge crane.

"Why are you doing all this? What are you going to do? Divert the river's course?" Xia Yingying asked, puzzled.

"There are too many stones in the river, and we can't move them anymore. Now we have to use a crane and weld a large frame by hand."

"This is a lot of work; in a couple of days, we'll probably need excavators," Chen Feng remarked, resting his chin on his hand.

"Brother, say something, okay?" Lin Nian couldn't help but speak up from the side.

"Was that something I said? Damn, when have I ever been so accurate with my words?" Chen Feng complained.

The two chatted for a while longer before Xia Yingying finally spoke up: "Okay, get some rest, be careful, and come back soon."

"Mmm, mwah." Chen Feng gave him a kiss.

After drinking tea for a while, the group went back to their rooms to sleep.

The next morning, Lin Nian and Li Chunlai put on their gear, picked up their baskets, and set off. After all, they couldn't do without baskets now.

Chen Feng stood by the river, looking at the bottom of the water with anticipation in his eyes.

Chen Feng had no doubt that today's harvest would break his previous record, or even double it.

Because the riverbed of this section of the river was covered with dense gold sand, Chen Feng was practically drooling over it.

"Today is a day full of hope." Chen Feng stretched, unable to suppress a smile.

Li Chunlai was at the bottom of the river, carrying a basket and starting to throw stones into it. Now he threw them all in, regardless of size, and took them all with him.

"Come on, Chunlai, lend a hand," Lin Nian said, lifting a stone with all his might.

"Okay." Li Chunlai walked over and helped Lin Nian lift the stones into the basket.

"Brother Feng, pull it up." Lin Nian clapped his hands and said, looking at the basket full of stones.

"Dad, pull!" Chen Feng shouted from below. Chen Jianguo, who was sitting on the crane, heard the voice and began to slowly start it.

After pulling two or three times, the money-absorbing ship began to spew out mud and sand, proving that Lin Nian had already started working.

Chen Feng stood on the side of the gold-absorbing ship, watching the grooves slowly revealing gold dust. Although the speed was slow, Chen Feng knew that they had not yet reached the location of the main cargo.

Once we reach that large cargo point, the gold will probably gush out like mud and sand.

"Hurry up, hurry up, let's get this area cleared today. I've already sent Huang Fei to buy roast chicken. Whether we can have roast chicken tonight depends on this one shot," Chen Feng said into his headset.

The two people underwater were somewhat surprised to hear this.

In the past, Chen Feng had never rushed them; he would even tell them to take their time and not to rush. What was going on today?

"What's wrong, Brother Feng? Did you find something?" Li Chunlai asked curiously.

“Yes, you’re not usually like this,” Lin Nian said, somewhat surprised.

"Hmph, I might as well tell you, because of the flow rate, this section of the river must have accumulated a lot of gold dust."

"Today's harvest will be unimaginably abundant."

"So, my darlings, why don't you hurry up and start sucking?" Chen Feng said with a smile from the shore.

"Wow, really? So much gold dust? There really is that much?" Lin Nian asked, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Stop talking, I'm full of energy now, where's the basket? Hurry up and hand it to me!" Li Chunlai said eagerly.

"Put it down." Chen Feng reached out, and the large basket was slowly lowered into the water.

Li Chunlai caught the frame underwater, pulled it over, and eagerly threw stones into it.

It was better that Chen Feng didn't say anything; the more he talked, the more excited they became, eager to know how much gold they would harvest today.

After all, even Chen Feng said so, so it can't be wrong.

After cleaning up the area, Lin Nian squeezed a handful of the mud before sucking it up.

Although you can occasionally see a few specks, there aren't as many as you might imagine; it seems no different from usual.

"Never mind, since Brother Feng said so, it must be right, let's just do it!" Lin Nian thought to himself, holding the vacuum tube.
