Chapter 543 Isn't this a waste of time?

The next morning, Chen Jianguo knocked on Chen Feng's door.

"Open the door, you've had too much to drink, we should go."

Chen Feng opened the door in a daze. It turned out that not only Chen Jianguo, but several other people had also come.

"Why can't you handle this little bit of alcohol? I don't remember you drinking that much." Chen Jianguo looked at his son with some disdain.

Upon hearing this, Chen Feng's face was filled with speechlessness; he really didn't want to say anything more.

I don't know who it was, but they went up to the wrong building yesterday and are still saying they were drunk.

"Get up, wash your face, return the car, and then head home," Huang Fei said, sitting on the bed.

"I don't want to leave," Chen Feng said, shaking his head.

"What do you mean? Stay another night? What's wrong with not staying long enough?" Li Chunlai said, somewhat puzzled.

"No, I mean we should stay here a little longer," Chen Feng explained.

"Hey, you're not regretting not digging for gold on the riverbank again, are you? But there's really not much gold there. Five people only make 20,000 yuan a day, although 20,000 yuan isn't a small amount," Lin Nian said, scratching his head.

"See that abandoned mine from yesterday? I want to go dig there," Chen Feng said to the crowd.

"Hmm? You've taken a liking to that abandoned mine?" Chen Jianguo said, somewhat surprised.

“Yes, I was thinking we should stay a few more days and go dig around there, but we need to find Uncle Qi first and see if he agrees.” Chen Feng stroked his chin.

"What's there to dig? You don't even know how many years that mine has been around. It's been mined for ages. Then Brother Qi took it over and started charging admission fees, and that's been going on for many years now."

"In the end, even Brother Qi didn't want that mine anymore. He told anyone who wanted to mine it to go ahead. In the end, he wouldn't even go to the gold prospectors for free because there was simply no gold left."

"What are you going there for? Trying to pick up some bargains?" Chen Jianguo said with a hint of helplessness.

Your son is really carefree. That mine has been abandoned for decades, and you still want to pick up the scraps? What can you possibly find there?

If there were any, they would have been picked up by now.

"Let's give it a try, just in case. We'll let Uncle Qi know first," Chen Feng said, standing up.

“If you really want to give it a try, then go and tell him later. Actually, that mine has been abandoned for a long time, and he doesn’t care at all. Whoever wants to mine can mine it. But it’s okay to say hello, just to give him a heads-up.” Chen Jianguo nodded.

"What are your thoughts? Are you going to work with me or not?" Chen Feng asked, looking at the group.

"Of course we'll do it." Lin Nian didn't hesitate at all. He felt that Chen Feng wouldn't want to mine an abandoned mine for no reason; he must have figured something out.

Even if he didn't realize it and it was just a whim, it didn't matter. He would do whatever Chen Feng asked him to do anyway.

"You say you'll do it, we'll do it. It's no big deal," Huang Fei said nonchalantly.

“Exactly, just tell me how to dig,” Li Chunlai chimed in.

"Then let's get to work in a bit. I'll wash my face and then we'll go find Uncle Qi." Chen Feng walked into the bathroom.

Chen Feng quickly finished packing, and the group went to Brother Qi's office. When they opened the door, Brother Qi was still a little dazed.

"You're here, come and sit down," Brother Qi said, gesturing for them.

"How are you? Have you sobered up yet?" Chen Jianguo asked as he sat down.

"They must have woken up a long time ago, but their stomachs are still a bit upset. They had some porridge for breakfast, which their sister-in-law cooked," Brother Qi said with a smile, rubbing his stomach.

"A little porridge will do, it'll soothe your stomach. By the way, Brother Qi, I have something to tell you. This kid wants to try his luck at your abandoned mine. Do you think that'll work?" Chen Jianguo said, handing him a cigarette.

"What? Go to an abandoned mine? What for? To pan for gold?" Brother Qi was shocked when he heard this.

“Yes, he just wanted to try his luck,” Chen Jianguo nodded.

"My goodness, didn't you tell him about the mine?" Brother Qi said.

"I told him, but he wouldn't listen. He just wanted to give it a try," Chen Jianguo said with a helpless smile.

“Oh my god, kid, listen to your uncle, that won’t do. That place has been dug up completely, there’s not a single hair left.”

"If you want to go hunting, I can find you a place. I still have some of those mines that I haven't had time to sell tickets for yet. Go there and hunt for them. There's plenty of stuff there, and it'll definitely be better than here."

Brother Qi meant well. The abandoned mines he mentioned that sell tickets to are the kind that make several hundred yuan a day. You can definitely find a lot of gold in a day, much more than those abandoned mines.

Given the current state of abandoned mines, forget about making money; if you manage to find even a single grain of gold, you'll be incredibly lucky.

"No, Uncle, I just want to go to the mine and take a look. I'll just pan for fun. If I find something, I'll make a profit; if not, I'll just go home, haha," Chen Feng said with a laugh, refusing.

"Oh, if you're just looking for fun, go ahead and shop around. You can buy whatever you want there; I haven't bothered with it for a long time."

"Just be careful, some of the pits are quite deep, you know?" Brother Qi reminded him.

"Alright, Uncle Qi, I'm relieved to hear that. If I manage to find some gold, I'll give you a red envelope!" Chen Feng laughed heartily.

“Nephew, I’m waiting for your red envelope, haha. Just give me a call if you need anything, I have it all.” Brother Qi stood up and said.

"Then we'll really have to trouble Uncle Qi to help us hoist the prefabricated houses over here, so we don't have to dismantle them. We still need to stay here tonight."

"Then get us some shovels and picks, and a few detectors. We didn't bring much with us on this trip," Chen Feng said.

"That's all fine, but from what you're saying, it sounds like you're really going to go all out?" Brother Qi asked in surprise.

"Yes, I still need to rent an excavator later," Chen Feng said with a smile.

"My God, how did you end up choosing that place? If you keep going like this, you'll end up spending all the money for an excavator. If you can't handle it, just dig somewhere else," Brother Qi advised.

He's been running that place for years; doesn't he know whether there's stock there or not?

"Just browsing around." Chen Feng shrugged and laughed.

"Alright, alright, as long as you young people are happy. Don't worry, everything you mentioned will be in place soon." Brother Qi waved his hand in acknowledgment.

"Thank you very much, Uncle Qi. We'll go rent an excavator now," Chen Feng said.

"Okay, you guys go ahead. If you need anything later, just give me a call," Brother Qi instructed.

"No problem, Uncle Qi, let's go."

After leaving the house, the group got into their car and headed to the equipment rental shop in the city.

"How's it going? Did the crane bring it back?" Chen Jianguo asked the boss.

"Oh, it's you! Not yet, I just sent someone to pick it up," the boss said with a smile, and quickly welcomed them in.

To be honest, this is a rare case of a big spender. They just leave their car there and don't have to worry about anything, renting it out for a month or more.

Just waiting to collect money every day feels amazing.

"I came here today to rent another machine from you, this time an excavator," Chen Jianguo said as he sat down.
