"Hey, you've forgotten, haven't you?" Chen Feng grinned and chased after him.
"No, I didn't forget. I was just testing you to see if you would tell the truth," Xia Yingying said stubbornly.
"You've simply forgotten!"
"No, no!"
The two of them playfully returned home and continued to greet and see off guests.
That evening, Chen Feng locked the couple who had been making a ruckus in the bridal chamber out of the room.
They want to cause trouble on my wedding night? No way!
"Hug me." Chen Feng snuggled into Xia Yingying's arms, acting all cute.
"You're such a clingy little thing." Xia Yingying stroked his head, her eyes filled with a happy smile.
The next day, Lin Nian, with a plastic bag in his pocket, used WeChat to call Xiao Ma out.
Xiao Ma is the girl she likes.
"Why did you call me out so early?" The two stood by the river, and Xiao Ma looked at Lin Nian, who seemed a little embarrassed, and said.
During this period, they chatted on WeChat the whole time, and only met in person once.
Xiao Ma noticed that Lin Nian was much more cheerful on WeChat than in real life.
They always had endless topics to talk about on WeChat, but in real life, Lin Nian was always very shy.
Xiao Ma finds Lin Nian more and more pleasing to the eye now; his shyness is quite adorable.
"Okay, here you go." Lin Nian took out a plastic bag from his pocket, which contained three black things that looked greasy.
"What...is this?" Little Horse took it and said with a smile.
"Sea cucumber, I specially packed some for you from Feng's wedding yesterday. It was delicious and I thought I'd let you try it."
"I was going to give it to you yesterday, but I was so busy yesterday that I didn't make it in time last night." Lin Nian scratched the back of his head and chuckled.
Hearing this, Xiao Ma was a little touched, but she was embarrassed to eat it in front of Lin Nian because it was so greasy. How embarrassing would that be?
"Don't you like sea cucumbers?" Lin Nian asked, somewhat disappointed, when he saw that Xiao Ma didn't move.
“No, I’ve never eaten sea cucumber, but… turn around.” Xiao Ma said, biting his lip.
"Huh?" Lin Nian was a little confused about the situation and why he had to turn around.
"Turn around quickly," Xiao Ma urged again.
"Oh, okay." Lin Nian obediently turned around, and for some reason, a strange thought suddenly popped into his mind.
Is she trying to push herself into the river?
Even if I can swim, I wouldn't push myself into the sea just because I don't like eating sea cucumbers.
Just as he was lost in thought, he heard the sound of a plastic bag behind him, and a few seconds later, he heard chewing sounds.
Upon hearing this voice, Lin Nian couldn't help but laugh.
After a while, Xiao Ma spoke.
"Okay, turn around now."
Upon hearing this, Lin Nian turned around and saw that Xiao Ma was holding an empty plastic bag and a piece of paper that had just been wiped.
"This is my first time eating sea cucumber, it's delicious, thank you," Xiao Ma said with a smile.
"Is it delicious? If it is, I'll go to my brother's place tomorrow and steal some more," Lin Nian said excitedly.
"No, stealing is wrong, even though he's your brother, and this thing is very expensive. Don't do it." Xiao Ma shook his head and refused.
"It's okay, I can buy it with my own money if necessary." Lin Nian chuckled.
"No, you brought me food, so I'll give you one too."
As Xiao Ma spoke, he took a lollipop out of his pocket.
"It's not as expensive as your sea cucumber, so if you don't like it, that's fine."
Xiao Ma was afraid he wouldn't accept it, so she made a point of saying something, pretending not to care.
"Yes, I love lollipops the most." Lin Nian said, grabbing the lollipop as if afraid that Xiao Ma would take it back.
Lin Nian squeezed the packaging bag open and stuffed it directly into his mouth, then gave Xiao Ma a silly smile.
Looking at him, Xiao Ma couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh, then turned to look at the small river in front of her.
Around noon, Chen Feng was rummaging through the cupboard when he couldn't help but ask, "I remember there were three sea cucumbers left on the plate yesterday. Where did they go? Did anyone eat them?"
"I don't know, I guess they ate it," Liu Ping said, looking up.
Huang Fei and his group were all there that night, probably because they were hungry and needed to eat.
"Just eat it, one is quite expensive," Chen Feng said, rummaging through the refrigerator.
The chef returned all the ingredients that were unused from yesterday's cooking, which caused Chen Feng's refrigerator to fill up quickly.
For the next two weeks, Chen Feng will probably be cleaning up the leftovers.
At that moment, Lin Nian walked in with a lollipop stick in his mouth.
"Brother Feng, do you still have that sea cucumber?"
"Yes, do you want some?" Chen Feng asked, turning around.
"Give me two more, please," Lin Nian said, biting into a lollipop stick.
"This whole bag is yours." Chen Feng happened to find a bag containing about seven or eight sticks.
"Brother, how much is it? I'll pay you." Lin Nian took the bag and said.
"Get lost, are you done talking?" Chen Feng cursed without even turning his head.
Chen Feng wouldn't ask him for money for just taking some things.
“No, brother, someone told me today that I can’t just take other people’s things for free, they’re all quite expensive.” Lin Nian said as he took the sea cucumber.
"Who said that? Your dad?" Chen Feng asked, puzzled.
"No..." Lin Nian stammered, not saying a word.
"Hurry up and take it home to eat. Where have you been listening to all that toxic chicken soup for the soul all day long?" Chen Feng ruffled his hair and said irritably.
"Oh, then I'll be going, brother." Lin Nian nodded. He also felt that he shouldn't be so polite to his brother, but what Xiao Ma said seemed to make some sense.
Whose advice should I take?
"When did you start eating lollipops? I saw you chewing on that lousy stick for ages, is it delicious?" Chen Feng asked, puzzled.
"It's delicious, sweet." Lin Nian definitely couldn't bear to throw it away, and chuckled sheepishly.
"Why do you suddenly seem like you've lost half your brain? Did you go crazy from the banquet yesterday?" Chen Feng squinted at him with one eye.
"No, hehe, I'm leaving now, the sea cucumbers will all melt in a bit." Lin Nian picked up the bag and ran home.
Xia Yingying watched them from the side, a knowing smile on her face.
After Lin Nian left, Xia Yingying came to Chen Feng's side.
"It seems your younger brother has fallen in love."
"Ah, really? How did you figure that out?" Chen Feng asked, glancing back at Lin Nian's retreating figure.
"Can't you see that he definitely didn't want to eat the sea cucumber; he took it as a gift?"
"I reckon he took the last sea cucumber left on the plate yesterday too," Xia Yingying guessed with a high degree of certainty.
After she said that, Chen Feng realized why the kid was acting strangely; he had taken his things to give as gifts.
"No wonder he chewed that lollipop stick until it was white but didn't throw it away. It was a gift from his girlfriend and he couldn't bear to part with it." Chen Feng smiled.
