Chapter 30 Complete!

"Okay, Song Hui, you eat first. I'll go back and make noodles for your sister-in-law." Zheng Ping took the eggs and was about to leave.

If he didn't leave soon, he was afraid he would burst out laughing.

"Okay, take care then. You're going to the abandoned mine tomorrow, right?" Song Hui asked.

"Let's see how it goes. If it doesn't rain, we'll go," Zheng Ping said as he walked out the door.

The moment he stepped out the door, the corners of his mouth couldn't help but turn up in a smile, as he tried hard to suppress his laughter.

He didn't dare to laugh out loud until he got back home.

Hahahaha.

Mao Min heard Zheng Ping's laughter outside while she was inside the house. It wasn't until Zheng Ping entered the bedroom that she couldn't contain her curiosity and asked him.

"What's wrong? Why are you laughing so happily?"

Zheng Ping quickly took off his clothes and climbed onto the kang (a heated brick bed), laughing as he said, "You know what, Fengzi was right!"

"There's nothing in that river. Going there would be a waste of time. Song Hui and his group of over thirty people searched the river and its banks all night, but they didn't find a single thing!"

"They were all freezing, and in the end they carried their things home."

Upon hearing this, Mao Min was immediately surprised and couldn't help but say, "So many people, and they really didn't get anything?"

"Of course, would Song Hui lie to me? If he had gotten something, he wouldn't have that dejected look on his face. He'd probably be shouting and laughing like a madman." Zheng Ping chuckled to himself.

"Fengzi is really amazing. He said there was nothing, and there really was nothing, not even a piece of iron. Luckily we listened to him, otherwise you would have been soaking in the river all night too?" Mao Min nodded belatedly, her tone filled with amazement.

"Of course! I knew Fengzi wouldn't trick me," Zheng Ping said with a smug smile.

"Look how happy you are! Now you can finally get a good night's sleep!" Mao Min couldn't help but laugh when she saw his expression.

"Not only can I get a good night's sleep, I'm even a little too happy to sleep now." Zheng Ping couldn't help but say, realizing that he seemed to be turning a little bad.

"If you can't sleep, don't bother me. I'm so sleepy." Mao Min felt a huge weight lifted off her shoulders. Knowing they hadn't gotten anything, she was relieved and turned to go to sleep.

"Why are you sleeping? Shouldn't we celebrate something this happy?" Zheng Ping flipped Mao Min over and moved closer to her.

"Ugh, I asked you earlier and you didn't want it, and now you're bothering me again," Mao Min said irritably.

“That’s different,” Zheng Ping said with a smile.

"Um…"

Mao Min wrapped her arms around Zheng Ping's neck, closed her eyes, and let out a soft hum.

The next morning, Chen Feng woke up at five o'clock and sat up as he looked at the nice weather outside.

Looks like he can go out and pan for gold today. He's been itching to get his hands dirty after a day without panning for gold; it's all money!

"Why are you up so early?" Liu Ping asked curiously when she saw Chen Feng coming out to wash up.

"I can't sleep because I'm so anxious to make money," Chen Feng said, filling a basin with water.

Hearing this, Liu Ping couldn't help but feel gratified; her son had truly made something of himself.

He used to be so responsive that I wouldn't wake him up. When has he ever been so eager to get up?

"Then I'll heat up the leftover fish from yesterday for you." Liu Ping didn't even wash up before heating up the food for him.

It wasn't until after 5:50 that Chen Feng finished eating. He had even bought his lunch from Lu Dahai's house, but no car came to pick him up.

He glanced at the time, lit a cigarette, and wasn't in a hurry.

A few minutes later, Huang Fei came in, but Zheng Ping was not there.

"Let's go," Huang Fei said as he entered.

"Is Brother Zheng in the car?" Chen Feng asked casually, picking up his things.

"What bus is he on? He used to be the first one there. Who knows what happened today? Maybe he overslept. Let's go to his house and wake him up," Huang Fei said, waving.

"Okay, Mom, I'm leaving." Chen Feng said, turning around.

"Okay." Liu Ping nodded and saw them out.

The two got into the car and drove to Zheng Ping's house. As soon as they stopped the car, they saw Zheng Ping running out hurriedly with a steamed bun in his mouth.

"What's going on? Did you oversleep today?" Huang Fei opened the car door and laughed as he watched Zheng Ping get in with his things.

"I overslept, but thankfully it wasn't too late," Zheng Ping said with a sigh of relief as he got into the car.

"Did you go panning for gold in the river yesterday too?" Chen Feng asked, looking at him with suspicion.

If you say you were panning for gold until midnight and then overslept this morning, that's normal.

But he said he wasn't going, so why did he oversleep?

"No, I didn't go. I forgot to set my alarm. Your sister-in-law had to wake me up," Zheng Ping said, taking a bite of his steamed bun and giving Chen Feng a wink.

The two pretended they hadn't discussed it the day before, and the other passengers didn't notice anything unusual.

"Oh." It's normal not to set an alarm, so Chen Feng didn't take it seriously.

Before the car had driven off for five minutes, Chen Feng's old problem flared up again; his eyelids were drooping, and he quickly fell asleep.

This time, however, he felt the car stop and got up on his own without Zheng Ping calling him.

"Let's start a pleasant day." Chen Feng got out of the car with his things, stretched, and looked at the rising sun.

He unscrewed the wires on the detector, put on the headset, and was about to find a spot to probe when he turned around and found that the van hadn't driven away, which puzzled him.

Why isn't Huang Fei home yet? What is he doing here? People have already come downstairs.

Before he could think much about it, he saw Huang Fei walk down with a detector that was exactly the same color as his, and then, as if he were doing something important, put on the headset.

This scene shocked Chen Feng so much that his eyes widened.

"Holy crap, what's going on? Why did you get another machine?" Chen Feng asked.

"Haha, I'm just staying at home anyway, might as well explore with you guys," Huang Fei said with a laugh, carrying the detector.

Although he didn't say it, Chen Feng could figure it out after a moment's thought: why Huang Fei hadn't bought a detector for over a year when he was providing them with vehicles, but suddenly bought one now.

They must have seen him ship the goods and got itchy fingers and envious, wanting to check it out themselves.

Chen Feng could only smile helplessly at this.

Unexpectedly, in the end, by shipping the goods himself, he also helped Han Jianguo succeed. He probably sold several more sets of machines in the next few days.

"You can investigate, right?" Chen Feng asked.

"Yes, I can. I've watched it for so long, I've learned it by now," Huang Fei said confidently.

"Alright, let's find a place that looks good and explore it," Chen Feng said casually.

After Chen Feng finished speaking, he was surprised to find Huang Fei taking a detector and probing around the van.

After discovering there was no stock, they moved the car forward a bit and then checked under the van.

Chen Feng: "..."

Zheng Ping couldn't help but chuckle when he saw Huang Fei's actions.

Good grief, you're having second thoughts about finding gold under Chen Feng's car, aren't you?

After Huang Fei finished his search, some of the people couldn't help but laugh and ask, "Huang Fei, did you find anything under the car?"
