"Driver, if we slack off and the guards see us, wouldn't that be bad?"
"There's nothing wrong with it. They don't care about anything else after they touch those things. As long as you don't try to escape, they won't bother with you."
The thin man seemed to know what the "things" the driver was talking about were, but his expression remained calm and he had no intention of asking any further questions.
He Xiaobei thought about the scene he saw when he received the pancakes last night, and roughly guessed what the "those things" the driver was talking about were.
Then she began to observe the driver carefully and found that his teeth were not as yellow as those of people who smoked all year round, and he didn't even smell of cigarettes.
The driver actually didn't smoke, and this was confirmed after they got off the car.
They watched as the driver took out a cigarette from his pocket, broke it into several pieces, and gave them all to the four guards beside the crematorium, without touching any of it himself.
Even when those people were smoking, he quietly stepped back a little and kept a distance from them.
A few people gathered together, and soon smoke rose from the crowd. The driver even raised his chin at them.
He Xiaobei thought to himself that this was probably the best treatment the thin man could give them, as they could just do the work of two trucks today.
Seeing that the driver had dealt with the guards, they were no longer in a hurry to work. They stood on the side of the car with shovels and began to discuss.
The thin man spoke first to the three of them:
"You guys are going to run away too, right? Don't deny it. I saw you guys swapping jobs with someone else. No one would rush to do the job of carrying the bodies if you don't want to run away."
The three of them didn't say anything, but just blinked their big eyes at the thin man in front of them, making him nervous.
