Chapter 44 Emergency Evacuation

Moreover, this group of people was quite cunning. They wore snow camouflage and crawled in the snow. If one of the mutants was not so tall and difficult to hide, they would have been discovered only when they reached the gate. But at this time, this group of people was only 150 meters away from the laboratory.

The soldier on guard was observing with a telescope when he suddenly found a large snow pile slowly moving forward on the snow.

He initially thought he was seeing things, but after further observation, he saw that there were many smaller snow piles beside the large one, and they were also approaching this side.

The sentry then realized that this was not a snow pile, but an enemy. He immediately took out his walkie-talkie:

"Captain, we've spotted a suspicious target. They're 150 meters to the left of the main gate. We estimate there are between 35 and 50 of them, wearing snow camouflage. There's also a... giant-looking creature, lying on the ground, estimated to be 2.5 meters long, with what appears to be a large backpack on its back. They're crawling towards us, and it's highly likely they're armed."

Seeing the object lying on the ground and crawling forward like a hill, he was shocked. All the muscles in his body tensed up and he muttered in his heart: What the hell is this thing?

"2.5 meters long? Are you sure?"

The captain was stunned when he heard this before reacting:

"Continue to observe and be ready to provide suppressive fire at any time."

"receive."

Everyone knew about this situation and there was no need for warning. This group of people was coming for them, and they were obviously equipped with weapons. Judging from the number of people on the other side, it was unrealistic to hold on and wait for rescue, so they could only retreat immediately.

Inside the laboratory, the captain of the combat team immediately sounded the alarm and issued an evacuation order:

"Emergency evacuation, emergency evacuation, assist the experimenters to take the necessary items and evacuate through the right door."

As soon as these words were spoken, a dozen or so experimenters began to pack up their things in a hurry. Some copied data, some began to destroy documents and animal subjects, and a few went straight to the storage room.

At this moment, no one had time to think about how the other party knew about this place. They could only seize the time to deal with the current situation as much as possible.

The captain then continued to issue orders:

"All personnel except those on sentry duty will be divided into three groups. Team A, including myself, will remain behind to provide cover for the evacuation. Team B, consisting of four, will immediately evacuate through the right door to the outside of the laboratory building and establish a covering fire position. Team C, with two people, will drive over."

After assigning the task, he immediately asked for help from the command center and gave an overview of the current situation.

The moment the evacuation alarm sounded in the building, the people outside realized that they were exposed, and they stood up and started running wildly in the snow, rushing straight into the pharmaceutical factory.

In the underground laboratory, an old man in a white coat and gray hair heard the captain's voice coming from the intercom. His anxious tone seemed to be asking, but also seemed to be talking to himself:

"Crawling on the ground, 2.5 meters long? That must be an evolved human who was forcibly injected with drugs. Animals forcibly injected with drugs will lose their sanity and only obey human commands. But we still call them aliens because they can no longer be called human. There are no such creatures in China. This group must be a foreign force."

At this point, the old man immediately said to the leading officer:

"Captain Zheng, there's no time to waste. Bring the potions and information, and blow this place up directly."

Then he quickly turned around and directed the other young experimenters:

"Destroy the data immediately. Take your computers with you. Everyone else, take the three potion storage tanks and evacuate immediately."

As he said this, he squatted down and started to disassemble the computer case.

After hearing what the old man said, Captain Zheng immediately ordered the two soldiers beside him to go and help.

At this time, the soldier on guard sent another message:

"Captain, they've given up hiding and are heading straight for the lab building. The target is 45 people and one... a giant, about 2.5 meters tall. He has a fist-sized tumor on the right side of his face. His shoulders are tilted to one side, and his arms reach down to his knees. He can't run as fast as the other group. We can't confirm if there are any snipers in the distance. Do you need me to provide suppressive fire?"

"Immediately initiate suppressive fire."

Captain Zheng gave the order without hesitation. At this moment, they had to fight for every second and there was no room for maneuver.

After hearing the order, the soldiers upstairs acted quickly without any hesitation.

He stood on the top floor, taking full advantage of the height, holding a weapon and aiming at the people coming below.

As the crisp gunshots rang out, bullets rained down on the target.

In an instant, the dark night sky was illuminated by brilliant flames, as if fire dragons soared into the sky and pounced on the enemy with fangs and claws.

The flames from the muzzle intertwined with the ammunition, forming a terrifying barrage of bullets.

The scene resembled a breathtaking fireworks display, yet it contained an endless amount of danger and murderous intent. Every bullet whizzed through the air with deadly force.

As the gunshots rang out, several people downstairs fell to the ground with blood splattering all over their bodies. However, they were obviously well-trained fighters.

In just a moment, the crowd dispersed, but still rushed towards the bottom of the building at a speed that did not slow down. This was a desperate way of fighting. As long as they rushed fast enough, the damage caused to them by the people upstairs would be less.

The soldiers upstairs fired a volley of bullets from high above, but only made the five people below unable to move.
