I pulled the drawer out completely and found that the inside of the drawer seemed to be an inch shallower.
I lifted the bottom piece of cloth and found a secret compartment. When I opened it, the household registration booklet was indeed inside, along with my cousin's high school diploma.
No wonder my cousin didn’t look for the household registration booklet, it was hidden so well.
