Chapter Six: Harboring Hidden Intentions
After arranging matters for the previous dynasty, Lu Lingjun went back to find Gu Yanjing, who was just getting up and having breakfast.
He probably didn't like it, so he didn't move much. Instead, he had the system transform into a chicken, take a piece of jade and slowly toss it on the ground for the system to eat.
The system's beak was practically bruised from hitting the ground, but this person's enthusiasm didn't wane; on the contrary, they seemed to be getting even more excited.
There's a phrase I'm not sure if I should say.
The group of eunuchs and palace maids didn't dare to breathe. They didn't know where a chicken had suddenly appeared from, thus sparing His Majesty's breakfast. Fortunately, His Majesty didn't get angry and kill them. Instead, well, he fed the chicken.

"If Your Majesty did not find breakfast to your liking, then may you order the Imperial Kitchen to prepare another serving?" Lu Lingjun remained as at ease as ever in his palace.
Upon hearing this, the palace servants knelt even deeper, and even Yuanbao knelt down again, burying his head in the carpet and pretending to be invisible.
Even the system keenly sensed the air freeze, and it quickly hid on the table with its dumpling in its mouth, only to suddenly hear its emperor speak.
"Take this chicken to the imperial kitchen and make soup."
The system froze, still holding a dumpling in its mouth. When it met Gu Yanjing's gaze, it trembled all over, dropped the dumpling on the ground with a thud, and tried to run away.
But when he noticed Gu Yanjing's gaze fixed on him, the chicken froze.

A clever palace maid grabbed the chicken and ran away.
Phew, finally out.
The system breathed a sigh of relief; it had finally come out.
Gu Yanjing took the jade pendant and used it to make an exquisite spring roll.

“I missed Your Majesty, so I came to see you.” Lu Lingjun sat down opposite Gu Yanjing without any hesitation.
Yuanbao immediately added a bowl and chopsticks.
Gu Yan glanced at him with a cold look.
Yuanbao put down his chopsticks and immediately knelt down.
"Get out of here and take twenty lashes yourself."
After kowtowing to express his gratitude, Yuanbao scrambled out of the room.
"Your Majesty, please try this." Lu Lingjun seemed not to hear him and picked out a good-looking meatball, placing it in Gu Yanjing's bowl.
"I'm full." Gu Yanjing flicked his sleeve and was about to get up.
"Your Majesty, please try this. There is something I have that Your Majesty is certainly unaware of." Lu Lingjun did not move.
He understands himself better than Gu Yanjing does.
Sure enough, Gu Yanjing couldn't resist her curiosity and sat down, only to say, "It's awful."
Gu Yan took a bite and then threw the meatball away.
Gu Yanjing was raised by the Heavenly Emperor Gu Yanci from a young age and was regarded as a younger brother by Gu Yanci. From childhood, he was more picky about food than the Phoenix Clan. Later, he also had a Phoenix Clan member as a playmate.
