Chapter 101 Jasmine

"I'm going to a banquet at noon," Ying Qian said softly, her head down.

She was certain that if Chen Wenzhi disagreed, she would stay in the hotel to sleep or go for a walk without hesitation, because she was not firm in her decision and did not really want to attend her father's second wedding banquet.

However, Chen Wenzhi readily agreed: "Okay, I'll go with you."

He must have his own reasons.

Upon hearing this answer, Ying Qian suddenly looked up, her eyes filled with fear and confusion.

He naturally pulled Ying Qian into his arms, his voice clear and gentle: "I told you, I'll be with you, don't be afraid."

I ordered takeout for breakfast.

Although Chen Wenzhi always says that "takeout is unhealthy", Ying Qian is hungry and won't let him go out, so he has no choice but to order takeout. Eating it occasionally is not a big problem.

“Ying Qian…” Chen Wenzhi looked directly into her eyes, “Do you know how you ended up on the same household registration as your brother?”

Ying Qian shook her head blankly.

Chen Wenzhi said seriously, "Marriage."

"!" Ying Qian's eyes widened in disbelief. "What do you mean?"

She wouldn't even drink the porridge; grains of rice were stuck to the corners of her lips.

Seeing her reaction, Chen Wenzhi smiled smugly, "Just kidding."

Ying Qian rolled her eyes at him, "All you do is scare me all day long, you're useless!"

"Didn't your brother say this morning that after noon, he would be your only family?"

"Hmm, I heard that." Ying Qian started drinking her porridge again, saying casually, "That's true. My father doesn't love me and my mother doesn't care about me. Besides him, I have no other relatives."

Where are your grandparents?

Ying Qian didn't look at him and replied expressionlessly, "He's still alive, but he's sexist."

"..." Chen Wenzhi was speechless.

Ying Qian is really unlucky to have such a family.

"Grandpa and Grandma?" Chen Wenzhi continued to ask.

Ying Qian glanced at him, her expression indescribable. "He passed away."

Chen Wenzhi realized he had said the wrong thing and opened his thin lips slightly.

Ying Qian knew he was going to apologize again, so she simply raised her hand and covered his mouth. "Don't apologize. I've never met my grandparents. They passed away before I was born."

"I see..."

"What?" Ying Qian smiled. "Are you still going to be sad for my tragic fate? There's really no need. I've already accepted it."

Under Chen Wenzhi's ardent gaze, she said, "I have many friends now: Shen Yun, Xu Tiantian, Lan Yan... um, Ren Yi, Gu..."

His name was interrupted when he was announcing "Gu Xinan".

"And what about me?" Chen Wenzhi asked angrily.

Ying Qian took a sip of porridge and said seriously, "You're not just a friend, are you? Didn't you say you were my boyfriend?"

Chen Wenzhi: "..."

That makes sense.

“Speaking of friends, something came to mind.” Ying Qian put down her spoon and placed her small hand on his large one. “Did you visit Chen Chang before you came to Qincheng?”

What's wrong with him?

Chen Wenzhi's reaction clearly showed that he was unaware of Shen Chang's situation.

“He’s sick.” Ying Qian lowered her eyes, her thick, curly eyelashes casting a silhouette under her eyelids. “It must be because of Senior Xi Yin. Shen Yun later messaged me to say that he felt much better after seeing me.”

"Why are you telling me all this?" Chen Wenzhi grasped her hand in return.

His expression was somewhat serious and a bit old-fashioned.

"It's nothing, you're friends, I just wanted you to know how he is." Ying Qian looked at his handsome face and smiled faintly. "Could you go and comfort him when you have time?"

“I remember when I first came to No. 3 Middle School, the first senior I met was him. He was very gentle, and I felt that he was a very nice person the first time I met him.”

"And now?" Chen Wenzhi asked.

He secretly cursed Ying Qian for being an idiot. She knew that Shen Chang liked Xi Yin, yet she still foolishly thought that the tenderness she showed him when they first met was for her.

Many students knew Chen Chang's personality; he was always ruthless and ruthless, but he only changed a little after Xi Yin left.

“I feel sorry for him,” Ying Qian replied, the light in her eyes gradually fading.

Chen Wenzhi chuckled lightly, unsure whether it was appropriate.

Ying Qian couldn't figure out what Chen Wenzhi was thinking either, and said to herself, "I hope he can get out of the shadows soon and see the light again."

"It's kind of you to think so much about him."

"Isn't he your friend? I should know all your friends, right?" Ying Qian counted on her other hand. "That's right, I know them all."

"..." Chen Wenzhi didn't say anything, which was taken as tacit acceptance of the good friend she had counted on one hand.

I estimate that some of them are just nodding acquaintances.

"Is your deskmate named Xu Yuan?"

"Um."

“Then she’s also one of my good friends!” Ying Qian said thoughtfully. “She and her male best friend are close friends, so she’s practically my friend too.”

"I don't care," Chen Wenzhi scoffed. "Anyway, I'm not going to pay any attention to her."

Ying Qian teased cheekily, "Wow, you're so heartless~"

Chen Wenzhi could only tolerate her perverted and lewd expression without any limits. He placed his large hand on her forehead and pushed her delicate little face away.

As the saying goes: Out of sight, out of mind!

Ying Qian stuck out her tongue. "I was just joking with you, and you actually took it seriously?"

"I know," Chen Wenzhi said, his tone full of indulgence, "but I won't take it seriously!"

After breakfast, the two left the hotel, where a quaint, old-fashioned street was right next to them.

I passed by a flower shop and noticed that the flowers displayed at the entrance were yellow roses.
