With a look of melancholy and tenderness in her eyes, she said softly, "I always felt that you were a little afraid of me."
Upon hearing this, Ying Qian quickly shook her head, vehemently denying it: "That's not true!"
She glanced up at the melancholy eyes, and beneath her thick eyelashes, her amber eyes were filled with tenderness and affection, while the curve of her lips added a touch of gentle affection.
The door was suddenly pushed open, and Ren Yi swaggered in with his hands behind his back, shouting in a nonchalant tone, "Hey, Chen Chang, what happened to you, being punished and sent to the Academic Affairs Office too?"
Punishment? Ying Qian's brows furrowed even more deeply.
Chen Chang rolled her eyes at him, her tone tinged with reproach, "Wasn't it all to save you?"
Ren Yi sat down on the table with ease, as if he were at home, supporting himself with one hand.
He smiled broadly, squinted, and tossed an umbrella over.
"Little beauty, hurry back to the classroom after you've taken your school uniform."
She took the umbrella, glancing one last time at Chen Chang. His expression was solemn. He caught her gaze, his rosy lips slightly pursed, and he waved to her.
Ying Qian nodded in response and hurriedly rushed out of Hongzhi Building with her school uniform in her arms.
It was raining heavily outside. Looking up at the sky, I saw dark clouds covering the ground, and I wondered when they would disperse. Raindrops fell into puddles, creating ripples in circles.
Ying Qian twirled the black umbrella in her hand, opened it, and thought: Ren Yi gave me the umbrella, so he's going to get wet in the rain.
After hesitating for half a second, she looked back at the eerie dark hall and decided to go back to her classroom first!
Let's just consider it owing Ren Yi a favor back then.
She hypnotized herself with this thought and walked to the classroom with a clear conscience.
Stepping into one puddle after another, splashing water everywhere.
Shangzhi Building was very noisy. From a distance, you could hear the girls' silvery laughter and the boys' roars like wild beasts.
The leaves rustled, the branches swayed, and a gust of wind blew fiercely.
Ying Qian shrank her neck; her shoes were soaked through.
She ran back to the classroom as fast as she could.
“Ying Qian! Um…” the girl said sweetly, tugging at Ying Qian’s clothes.
"Hmm?" Ying Qian hadn't really noticed that there was such a cute classmate in the class, so she took a good look at her.
She was as frail as a willow swaying in the wind, her face pale from illness, like a delicate flower that would be blown down by the wind and rain if she left this classroom.
After a long pause, she finally spoke softly, "I want you to teach me a math problem..."
Before Ying Qian could nod.
A boy nearby said sarcastically, "Shen Yun, if you have any questions you can't answer, come to me! We brought in someone who got in through connections; she might not even be able to do our class's questions!"
This remark was met with a burst of laughter.
Ying Qian ignored it. She had always been somewhat proud and arrogant, but a true man can bend and stretch, and she wasn't angry about these remarks.
The only thing that caught her attention was her name, Chen Yun... It sounded so familiar.
She freed her hand, reached out and gently grasped Chen Yun's slender wrist, pulled her back to her position, and pressed her down into her seat.
Shen Yun broke out in a cold sweat. It felt like she was sitting next to an ice block. She trembled and felt that if she sat there for a few more seconds, she would freeze to death!
Ying Qian noticed that her body was trembling slightly, and realized something.
"Tsk." Ying Qian impatiently slapped Chen Wenzhi and threw her school uniform and umbrella onto his desk. "Can you sit in Ren Yi's seat?"
He didn't react much, but looked up and asked, "Are you ordering me around?"
He didn't seem angry.
Ying Qian knew he wouldn't lose his temper, so she patted his shoulder in a conciliatory manner, "Chen Wenzhi! Please, for the sake of our connection, let me pass..."
Chen Wenzhi's eyelashes trembled slightly, and the mole at the corner of his eye turned even redder. He compromised, got up, took the competition paper from the table, and sat in Ren Yi's seat.
Ying Qian sat down, and the bench was warmed by his body heat, so she didn't feel cold sitting on it.
He may have a cold personality, but he's actually quite warm-hearted...
Ying Qian couldn't help but laugh out loud.
“Hmm, Sister Yingqian, this is a big question…” Shen Yun quickly got into the zone.
Ying Qian cleared her throat and looked at the question seriously. It wasn't difficult, but the steps were a bit complicated, and there were several auxiliary lines.
During the rest of the break, Ying Qian spent the entire time explaining problems to Shen Yun.
He explained it to her thoroughly, and she exclaimed admiringly, "Sister Yingqian, you'll be my idol from now on!"
She coughed as she finished speaking.
Ying Qian declined, saying, "No, no, I'm still a complete novice."
"You're not wearing enough clothes," Ying Qian said, clearly displeased. "It's so cold today, you'll catch a cold."
She wasn't just talking; she quickly took off her coat and draped it over Shen Yun's shoulders with lightning speed.
She was rather short, and the coat almost reached her knees. Wearing Ying Qian's clothes, she felt incredibly warm.
"Thanks."
"You look a lot like my brother."
The low, angry voice was soft and gentle.
Ying Qian was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled softly a few times, "Your brother?"
"Hmm." Shen Yun hesitated a little. "My brother's name is Shen Chang. He's a senior in high school."
"Then I have a special connection with you siblings."
"You know my brother?" Shen Yun asked in surprise.
Ying Qian chuckled dryly, "We just met."
That's great.
Shen Yun glanced at his watch and cautiously probed, "Can we still be friends?"
"Yes, of course." Ying Qian didn't understand why she would ask this question, but she didn't delve into it.
Shen Yun happily returned to his seat.
Ying Qian even occupied Chen Wenzhi's bench and refused to leave.
"Let me go." Chen Wenzhi stood up and stood beside Ying Qian with an indifferent expression.
She raised an eyebrow: "No way!"
"Heh." Chen Wenzhi snorted, put down the test paper, and approached Ying Qian.
The sound of breathing grew closer and closer; he leaned down, their noses almost touching.
Ying Qian could clearly sense his every breath. Her throat tightened, and she nervously swallowed. His alluring eyes, however, remained cold and devoid of any emotion, let alone anger.
Her hands, which were half-supporting her on the stool, gripped the edge of the stool, her fingertips turning slightly white.
Chen Wenzhi's breath brushed against her face, and the fine downy hairs on her face were clearly visible under the light. He asked calmly, "Still not allowing it?"
A cool, minty flavor.
Ying Qian immediately admitted defeat, and as she stood up, her nose brushed against his thin lips.
She covered her face and lay on her desk, her cheeks still flushed.
She'd seen countless handsome men, so why did she fall for Chen Wenzhi?
It's all because he's too good-looking!
"Put on your school uniform," Chen Wenzhi reminded him, as if nothing had happened.
Ying Qian didn't look at him. She reached out and found the school uniform, pulled it in front of her, and opened the packaging bag. Wearing the uniform felt like...
Um... it was covered with a burlap sack...
Ying Qian suddenly regretted why she had tried to look cool by taking off her clothes.
"Serves you right!" Chen Wenzhi chuckled in a low voice. "Idiot."
