Chapter Twenty-Four: Creating Trouble

Although Chen Wenzhi didn't quite know what Ying Qian liked, the two like-minded people wouldn't be bored together.

Inside the boutique, Ying Qian is selecting hair clips.

The boy's gaze never left her, quietly observing her every move.

Suddenly, a message popped up on my phone.

He took out his phone, glanced at it, and a faint smile appeared on his lips.

Just then, Ying Qian came running over excitedly and held up two realistic food-shaped hair clips on her head, smiling innocently: "Tell me, which one looks better?"

He frowned, then hesitantly pointed to the little orange.

The plastic orange is incredibly realistic, only about the size of a fingernail, yet exquisitely crafted. The orange's veins are perfectly replicated, and its color and shape are just like the real thing, as if it were a scaled-down version.

"Then this one will do."

Having made her decision, perhaps feeling she hadn't bought enough, she took two more pens from the stationery section and went to find the cashier.

"Hey, I have some good news to tell you," Chen Wenzhi suddenly called out to her.

Ying Qian turned around in confusion.

Chen Wenzhi then changed his tune, "Actually, I don't know if this is good news or bad news for you."

"There will be a study tour after the exam week next month."

Ying Qian was silent for a moment, then a smile quickly returned to her face. "Good news! My elementary and middle schools never organized such an event, and I never expected to encounter one in high school."

The moment she turned around, her smile was radiant. She was like a sunflower that never withers, growing towards the sun. As long as the sun in the universe does not disappear, the smile on her face will be eternal.

After leaving the boutique, Ying Qian thought she should go to the movies with them, but then she remembered her strict older brother!

The moment I stepped out of the boutique, my phone started ringing incessantly.

Ying Qian saw the note and had no choice but to accept the call.

"Where are you?" The other party asked directly, without any hesitation.

Ying Qian glanced at Chen Wenzhi, "Longhu Tianjie."

Chen Wenzhi looked down at his phone, seemingly unconcerned about the conversation of the girl next to him.

"Hmm, inside the mall? Wait for me at Gate 2. I'll pick you up in ten minutes." Meng Beiyan's voice was cold and almost devoid of emotion.

Ying Qian guessed that the blind date must have gone badly, otherwise why would she be in such a low mood?

"Chen Wenzhi, I'm sorry," she said, "My brother will be picking me up in ten minutes, so I probably won't be able to watch the movie with you guys tonight!"

Chen Wenzhi nodded. "No need to apologize to me. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have come to this party."

Ying Qian felt guilty.

Although it was called a gathering, it didn't feel like a birthday party to the two of them at all.

It's more like a romantic getaway for a young couple...

Ying Qian didn't know why she had such a misconception.

Not long after.

Chen Wenzhi escorted Ying Qian to Gate No. 2.

The entrance is a spacious square, surrounded by a bunch of amusement rides, such as a carousel for children, and bumper cars.

Normally, there are long queues at the ticket booths for bumper cars, but today, since it just rained, there are only a few people.

Wearing a black overcoat, with the gloomy sky serving as a backdrop, Meng Beiyan took off his sunglasses and calmly walked from the gloom into the light.

Ying Qian went to greet her.

He scooped Ying Qian up, wrapped her in his coat, and glanced indifferently at Chen Wenzhi.

Chen Wenzhi calmly returned a smile, which was truly impeccable.

Ying Qian secretly waved to him.

It means "see you next time".

See you next time, or rather, see you the day after tomorrow!

There was a noticeable perfume scent in the car, a sweet perfume scent.

Could it be that Meng Beiyan's blind date is a sweet girl?

Ying Qian used her sensitive nose; the perfume scent was strongest in the passenger seat!

She showed a rare hint of interest. "You let that woman sit in the passenger seat?"

"Mm," Meng Beiyan replied.

"What's he like as a person? Is he pretty?" Ying Qian kept asking. "Is he nice? Oh, and most importantly, do you like him?"

"I don't like it," he replied casually, seemingly genuinely uninterested.

Ying Qian: "..." Why does it seem like Meng Beiyan doesn't like anyone...?

Does he not like women? Is he gay?

The moment the thought popped into her head, Ying Qian quickly dismissed it. "It can't be, right?" But before long, she began to doubt again. "No way, no way?"

It's an illusion, it must be an illusion!

“I don’t think you’d like it either,” Meng Beiyan added.

Ying Qian saw his eyes in the rearview mirror; they were dark and deep, with a hint of arrogant arrogance, and always unfathomable.

"How do you know I wouldn't like it? What if I happen to like it?" she retorted, unconvinced. "You know me that well?"

Meng Beiyan said slowly, "She is very bothered by your presence."

He didn't seem to mind telling Ying Qian these things.

...

Ying Qian hesitated, staring incredulously at the calm and composed man in the rearview mirror.

All she could think about was that Meng Beiyan shouldn't be a bachelor forever because of her...

She really couldn't understand what that sentence meant.

She said humbly, "Maybe I should go back to Aunt Tang's. Staying here with you is really just causing you trouble... Brother... I!"

Meng Beiyan gently shook his head, "I'll be happier if you stay by my side."

He sighed again, as if complaining about something, "You're overthinking it. I'm telling you this because I don't care, and I don't think a stranger's words can drive you away."
