Chapter Thirty-One: The Young Couple

To be fair, she doesn't want others to know about her family affairs right now.

She thought for a moment, but didn't wait for Ren Yi. Her pace quickened, and she no longer had a home.

The wind wasn't strong, but it stung my face.

She went into the classroom and went straight to her seat.

There were hardly any people in the classroom, so she didn't even look up. Since there was no sound at all, she assumed she was probably the first person to arrive.

"Good morning." A cool voice sounded in my ear.

She was wrong.

Ying Qian looked up and saw a strange tenderness in his eyes, something she had never seen before.

She was stunned.

This reaction made Chen Wenzhi frown, and he asked softly, "What's wrong?"

He gently placed the back of his hand on Ying Qian's forehead. Her temperature was normal. He breathed a sigh of relief, smiled slightly, and continued to ask, "Does your throat still hurt?"

Ying Qian was still in shock, and just said based on her feeling, "It hurts."

"Then let's go get another IV drip tonight." He seemed to leave her no room to refuse. "I'll go with you, anyway, our houses are very close by."

Ying Qian nodded, her gaze never leaving his gentle expression; he always seemed so composed.

He was aloof, arrogant, boring, and had a bad temper...

This is all how others see him; it's all fake. They've never met him, never truly felt his warmth, never seen his genuine smile...

We've only known each other for a few weeks.

Ying Qian said, "Our relationship has improved so quickly. When I first transferred here, I really thought you hated me."

“No,” Chen Wenzhi recalled. “From the first moment I met you, I never really disliked you, and I was destined never to dislike you.”

Ying Qian smiled.

"Um."

Chen Wenzhi pursed his lips and patted the top of her head.

He suddenly interjected, "My mother likes you very much."

Ying Qian: "?"

"He wants me to bring you home for dinner often." Chen Wenzhi's eyes were innocent, like a pitiful puppy. "Do you agree?"

"Um..." She pouted, feeling much better. "Okay... I guess."

The pleasant atmosphere was shattered by Ren Yi.

He casually tossed his bag aside, "Just the two of you in the class? The rest of you are so lazy... speechless..."

Then, he slumped wearily onto the table. "Damn it! Ying Qian, are you in such a hurry to be reborn? Why are you running so fast?"

"Do you know what a huge dog I saw at the school gate! It exhausted me!"

He glanced at her sideways; Ying Qian seemed not to be listening to him. He complained, "At the speed you were going, you could be doing morning exercises without having to beg Chen Wenzhi to get you sick leave slips every day..."

"You two came together this morning?" Chen Wenzhi raised an eyebrow slightly, his smile faint, seemingly implying something. "You two seem to know each other quite well."

His voice still carried a hint of amusement, but it sounded rather strange.

Ying Qian was secretly delighted. Could this be considered jealousy?

She couldn't help but laugh.

Ren Yi was confused. "Huh?"

"We just bumped into each other this morning, we're not acquainted at all!" she said definitively.

Ren Yi rolled his eyes, suppressing his resentment, "You two young couple really know how to do things..."

The phrase "young couple" made Chen Wenzhi blush.

Yes, Chen Wenzhi blushed.

Ying Qian didn't react at all, and was amused by the boy in front of her with his flushed cheeks, laughing so hard she couldn't stop.

She suddenly realized that no matter what sad things were, seeing Chen Wenzhi would make her feel much better. Just talking to him or seeing his handsome face would cheer her up.

It's not that I'm obsessed with looks, it's that I'm obsessed with Chen Wenzhi.

"Chen Wenzhi, I've never seen you so thin-skinned before!" Ren Yi suddenly sat up and said irritably.

The girl slowly walked in through the doorway.

Ren Yi, with his sharp nose, recognized the faint fragrance and instinctively turned around.

Before Shen Yun could speak, he coughed twice, looking sickly.

He only returned a lukewarm smile to Ren Yi's burning gaze.

Ren Yi frowned, "Chen Yun!"

He spoke up, "Did you have breakfast this morning?"

The low, angry voice was barely audible: "I ate it..."

Ying Qian smiled and glanced at Chen Wenzhi. He looked in the direction of Shen Yun, then quickly looked back.

"Has her health always been this poor?" she asked.

Chen Wenzhi shook his head. "I don't know. Shen Yun doesn't like to show off much, but Shen Chang said her health isn't very good."

"Hmm." Ying Qian rested her chin on her hand and looked at the two people not far away.

The two of them... I guess they'll have a story to tell.

Ren Yi leaned forward and stood beside Shen Yun, his breath brushing against her soft hair.

The scent of hormones blends with the fragrance of flowers.

Shen Yun was speechless: "You..."

Her hands were clenched tightly, and she dared not speak.

"Shen Yun, stop being so afraid of me! I won't eat you. Was it me who took you home that day? Did your brother tell you?"

"...I knew it was you."

The air seemed to freeze slightly.

Ren Yi asked, puzzled, "How did you know it was me?"

"A feeling." The deep, resonant voice was like a soft feather, tickling the heart.
