Inside the hall, there was silence, only Rong Xuanya was sitting at the desk attentively, carefully reading and annotating the various documents that were continuously transmitted from the sect. Time passed quietly, like the fine sand in an hourglass, accumulating bit by bit.
After the last heavy stroke fell, Yourong Xuanya closed the thick book as if relieved, then quickly stood up and stretched her body which was slightly stiff from sitting for a long time. While stretching her muscles, she muttered:
"Oh my, it's finally done! I have to go back quickly. Ning'er must be missing me so much that she's about to cry!"
Before she finished her words, she could not wait to leave, her steps hurried, rushing towards her own bedroom like the wind.
Not long after, she successfully arrived at the door of the palace. Before entering the door, she shouted with joy: "Ning'er, I'm back! Did you miss me?"
However, when she looked into the room with expectation, she was stunned by what she saw. Xiao Ning was facing away from her, and he looked a little listless. What was even more shocking was that on the bed that originally belonged to her and Xiao Ning, there was another figure lying there - Rong Rouxue.
Yourong Xuanya opened her eyes wide in disbelief, staring at the scene in front of her, her mouth slightly open, muttering to herself: "Sister...how could this happen?"
Then, as if she suddenly came to her senses, she rushed to the bedside, her eyes fixed on Yourong Rouxue, who was lying quietly on the bed like a sleeping beauty. At this moment, Yourong Rouxue had a peaceful face, motionless, and beautiful like a fairy in a painting, exuding an irresistible charm.
Looking at Xiao Ning next to him, his eyes, which were once clear and bright, were now red and full of tears, as if they could burst at any time. His eyes revealed endless sadness and despair, and his original spirit had disappeared, replaced by numbness and dullness.
He slowly turned his head and his eyes met with Yourong Xuanya's. Yourong Xuanya looked at Xiao Ning's numb expression, and her heart sank. She finally realized the seriousness of the matter. She hurriedly grabbed Yourong Rouxue's hand and roared.
"Sister, she can't be dead. Sister is a Mahayana cultivator. There is no way she can die. It's impossible! Ning'er, tell me, tell me, sister is fine!"
Yourong Xuanya's voice was filled with tears, her body was shaking slightly, and tears were pouring out like a flood. Her eyes were full of fear and anxiety, as if she had lost the whole world.
Xiao Ning looked at Yourong Xuanya, who was crying and screaming, and felt a sharp pain in his heart. He quickly stretched out his hands, hugged her tightly, and held her tightly in his arms, trying to comfort her with his warmth. He whispered: "Sister Xuanya, don't, don't do this, I will find a way to solve it, I will definitely save Sister Rouxue!"
Yourong Xuanya's crying became more and more miserable, and her body kept shaking in Xiao Ning's arms. She hugged Xiao Ning tightly, as if only in this way could she feel a little comfort. Her sobs echoed throughout the room, like a sharp sword, piercing everyone's heart.
Xue Lian, who was in the prison, was now closing his eyes and lowering his head, like a lifeless corpse. Suddenly, a dazzling light shone in, and he was stimulated by the strong discomfort, and he raised his head and looked forward involuntarily. He saw Rong Xuanya standing in front of him, her eyes were full of anger, as if she wanted to burn Xue Lian to ashes.
With her eyes wide open and her face full of resentment, she took a step forward and slapped Xue Lian hard with all her strength. The slap was so strong that Xue Lian's cheeks instantly became red and swollen.
"You bastard! You said that the sword would only make my sister unable to move temporarily, why! Why did my sister die!" Yourong Xuanya's voice was full of grief and anger, with tears welling up in her eyes.
Xue Lian looked at Yourong Xuanya who was extremely angry in front of him, and his mouth curled slightly, revealing a hint of sneer. His eyes revealed a kind of cunning and complacency, as if he was mocking Yourong Xuanya's naivety.
"Sister Xuan Ya, isn't this better? Now that our master is dead, no one can compete with you for Xiao Ning. Isn't this what you want the most?" Xue Lian's words were filled with sarcasm and provocation.
Yourong Xuanya's face turned pale as paper in an instant, her body trembled slightly, and her eyes were full of despair and helplessness. She could not accept her sister's departure, and she could not accept Xue Lian's words.
"Impossible! I never wanted to kill my sister! Even if it's because of Ning'er, I will never allow my sister to die! Tell me how to save my sister!" Yourong Xuanya's voice was filled with tears. She grabbed Xue Lian's collar tightly, as if she wanted to get a glimmer of hope from him.
However, Xue Lian was unmoved. He looked at Yourong Xuan Ya and continued, "Of course there is a way, Sister Xuan Ya, but this method will make you lose Xiao Ning. Are you willing?"
Hearing this, Yourong Xuanya's face turned even paler, her lips trembled slightly, but she couldn't say a word. Her heart was full of contradictions and pain. On the one hand, she didn't want to lose Xiao Ning; on the other hand, she couldn't give up her feelings for her sister.
"No, is there no other way? Is there no way to have the best of both worlds?" There was a hint of pleading in Yourong Xuanya's voice, and her eyes revealed the last bit of expectation for Xue Lian.
Xue Lian looked at the flustered Yourong Xuanya and couldn't help laughing. His laughter was full of sarcasm and disdain, as if he was mocking Yourong Xuanya's innocence and naivety.
"Yourong Xuan Ya! Yourong Xuan Ya! You are so naive! If there really is a way to have the best of both worlds, will I fall into the evil path? Can I fail to save Jiang Yingli?" Xue Lian's words were like a sharp sword, deeply hurting Yourong Xuan Ya's heart.
