Song Junwan's face was filled with astonishment. She looked at Xiao Ding in disbelief. Then her gaze slowly moved to Xiao Ning who was lying on the bed. Tears flowed uncontrollably like a dam bursting.
She gently stretched out her hand and stroked Xiao Ning's slightly pale face like a spring breeze. Her voice was so soft as if she was afraid of disturbing something, and she murmured:
"Ning'er, you silly child, this is a dispute between us adults, why do you have to torture yourself like this?"
The whole room seemed to be shrouded in a thick and heavy sadness, making it almost hard to breathe. After a while, Xiao Ding moved his gaze away from Song Junwan and fell on Xiao Ning again, his eyes full of deep helplessness and pity. He slowly raised his hand, gently patted Song Junwan's shoulder, and then said in a deep voice:
"Ning'er said he was willing to spend his whole life to make up for the mistakes Qian'er made to you."
As soon as he finished speaking, Xiao Ding turned around and quietly left the house full of sadness, leaving Song Junwan standing there in shock. However, just a moment later, Song Junwan's face, which had been a little dazed by shock, unconsciously broke into a relieved smile, and tears flowed down like a dam breaking.
She held Xiao Ning's hand tightly, as if she was afraid that he would disappear if she let go. Then, she leaned over and kissed Xiao Ning's forehead lovingly.
"Ning'er, no matter what, you will always be Aunt Song's favorite child. Even if you are not my biological child, my life is worth it to have a sensible and filial child like you!"
