In the center of the palace, there was a wooden bed made of golden nanmu wood, on which half-lying lay a beautiful woman in a fiery red dress. Her face was haggard, and her long hair, which had been like a waterfall, was now a little disheveled, as if she had gone through a great ordeal.
The entire room was empty, not even a servant could be seen. The dim candlelight flickered in the silence, making the space seem extremely deserted and lonely.
Time passed quietly, and after an unknown amount of time, a slight sound of footsteps suddenly came from outside. Although the sound was very light, it seemed unusually abrupt in such a quiet environment.
Dongfang Qinyin's eyes moved slightly, as if she noticed someone approaching. She used all her strength and said in a slightly hoarse voice:
"I've already told you, I'm not hungry, so don't send me food..."
However, the footsteps became louder and louder, as if someone was deliberately stepping harder to make her notice. Not long after, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her. Dongfang Qinyin's heart tightened, and a feeling of being spied on came over her.
She frowned in displeasure and raised her voice, "I told you not to disturb me, don't you understand?"
There was a hint of majesty and dissatisfaction in her voice. She hoped that this person would leave tactfully and not bother her again. However, the person did not seem to take her words to heart and continued to stand there quietly.
Dongfang Qinyin was even more annoyed when she saw this. She raised her head abruptly and looked at the person with anger. In the dim candlelight, she squinted her eyes, trying to see the person's appearance clearly.
She saw a tall man in a white suit that looked a little dim under the candlelight, but it couldn't hide the temperament he exuded. Just as she was wondering, a voice that was so familiar to her suddenly reached her ears.
"It's me, Her Royal Highness the Princess!"
