Liu Anran groaned from the intense pain and contractions. She felt pain all over her body, and tears streamed uncontrollably from the corners of her eyes.
Qin Ruixu entered the ward and saw Liu Anran lying alone on the bed, looking extremely pained. He hurriedly approached the bedside and saw that Liu Anran was covered in sweat from the pain and looked angry.
"How could the person who was taking care of you leave you alone in bed? Didn't they know you were about to give birth?"
Liu Anran's face lit up with surprise when she saw Qin Ruixu.
"Mom just went out for a little while, and Yunxiao went to find the doctor."
"But we can't leave someone alone in the ward," Qin Ruixu said disapprovingly.
Liu Anran reached out and grabbed Qin Ruixu's pants, pleading, "Uncle, I'm in so much pain. If anything happens to me, I'll entrust the child to you. Please take care of the child for me."
Qin Ruixu looked at Liu Anran's pale face, where sweat and tears were streaming down her cheeks, and his brows were furrowed.
"I'm a grown man who can't take care of children. You should take care of your own children."
“I also want to take care of them myself and watch them grow up, but childbirth is like going through the gates of hell. I’m worried that something might happen. Please, for the sake of them being your nephews, help me take care of them,” Liu Anran said, crying.
Qin Ruixu had never seen Liu Anran so vulnerable before, her face even showing a hint of despair. He placed Liu Anran's hand on the bed and said coldly, "I won't help you take care of the child. If you die, let them be buried with you!"
Qin Yuhan and Chu Yunxiao led the gynecologist and midwife into the ward.
"Please leave, we need to examine the patient," the doctor said.
Qin Ruixu walked out of the ward expressionlessly. Chu Yunxiao looked at Liu Anran with concern and smiled, "Anran, don't be afraid, I'm right outside."
Liu Anran was in too much pain to answer Chu Yunxiao. She looked at Qin Yuhan and said through gritted teeth, "Mom, I'm scared. Stay with me."
Seeing Liu Anran pale and drenched in sweat from the pain, Qin Yuhan said with heartache, "Okay, Mom will stay with you."
Qin Ruixu looked at Chu Yunxiao and said coldly, "Liu Anran risked her life to give birth to your child, you should care more about her and spend more time with her."
"Uncle, I understand. I will definitely try to spend more time with An Ran and the child in the future," Chu Yunxiao said.
"Ahhh..." Liu Anran's cries of unbearable pain came from inside the ward.
Hearing Liu Anran's painful cries, Chu Yunxiao trembled and asked nervously, "Is childbirth really that painful?"
Qin Ruixu looked at Chu Yunxiao with a cold face, "If I cut off your thing down there, do you think it would hurt?"
Chu Yunxiao said in surprise, "Uncle, are you saying that childbirth is as painful as cutting flesh?"
Qin Ruixu's lips twitched. He had never had a child; how would he know?
Qin Ruixu glanced coldly at Chu Yunxiao, sat down on the chair in the aisle, closed his eyes, and ignored Chu Yunxiao.
Chu Yunxiao waited anxiously at the door of the ward. When the door opened and Liu Anran was wheeled out of the ward, he immediately went over and asked worriedly, "Anran, how are you?"
"It hurts!" Liu Anran said.
She is in pain all she feels right now.
"The pregnant woman is about to give birth. Don't block the way. We need to move her to the delivery room," the doctor said.
Chu Yunxiao quickly stepped aside, and Liu Anran was wheeled into the delivery room.
Qin Ruixu followed Qin Yuhan and Chu Yunxiao to the delivery room. Qin Yuhan accompanied him into the delivery room, while Qin Ruixu and Chu Yunxiao waited outside.
While wiping Liu Anran's sweat, Qin Yuhan gently comforted her, "Anran, just bear with it a little longer. It won't hurt anymore after the baby is born."
Liu Anran was in so much pain that she almost screamed. It hurt so much that she never wanted to have another child.
But she has to conserve her strength, otherwise she won't have the energy to give birth later.
The doctor gently pressed on Liu Anran's stomach and examined her from the inside out, finding that her birth canal was already open.
"When your cervix is dilated and you feel your belly dropping, hold your breath and push," the doctor said.
"Understood," Liu Anran replied.
Chu Yunxiao paced back and forth outside the room where the woman in labor was located, his face filled with fear. He hadn't heard Liu Anran make a sound for quite some time.
"Uncle, why isn't An Ran making any noise? Has something happened?" Chu Yunxiao asked in a panic.
"Neither the doctors nor the nurses have come out to issue a critical condition notice. How could An Ran possibly know something is wrong? Or do you want something to happen to her?" Qin Ruixu said in a deep voice.
"Uncle, how could I want anything to happen to An Ran? I wish they, mother and child, would be safe and sound," Chu Yunxiao said hurriedly.
"I hope you mean what you say," Qin Ruixu said.
Chu Yunxiao frowned and asked, "Uncle, are you questioning my character?"
"Do you have any integrity left?" Qin Ruixu retorted. "Bai Lu harmed An Ran, yet you've been getting so close to Bai Lu while An Ran is pregnant. Have you thought about how An Ran will react when she finds out?"
Chu Yunxiao was taken aback for a moment, then quickly explained, "Bai Lu and I have a completely innocent relationship; nothing has happened between us."
"What, you want to have a 4P with other men? Aren't you disgusted?"
Qin Ruixu felt angry whenever he saw Chu Yunxiao. He was taking advantage of An Ran's pregnancy to get so close to other women, and he wasn't afraid that An Ran would be heartbroken if she found out.
